This is a traditional Madeiran-style property with a concept of sharing spaces. It offers a pleasant outdoor space with a dining area, in a serene and relaxing atmosphere.

Your stay at Casa da Fajã Alta includes breakfast, served in a large space shared by all guests. Separately, it offers 7 bedrooms, each with capacity for 2 guests, all with private bathrooms.
The garden welcomes visitors, with a dining area and areas conducive to leisure time. The enchanting landscape reveals the majesty of the mountains and the unmistakable beauty of the Atlantic sea.

AREA
The municipality of São Jorge, located on the enchanting island of Madeira, is a region that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, history and local traditions. This town is about a 45-minute drive from the centre of Funchal.
There are many tourist attractions in this area, but one of the most striking attractions, the Ponta de São Jorge lighthouse, offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The imposing cliffs and unique rock formations create a picturesque setting for nature lovers. The Church of St George is a religious building of cultural interest with charming architecture. Visitors can explore the interior of the church, admire the sacred art and learn about the region's rich cultural heritage. Another point of interest is the Núcleo Primitivo da freguesia de São Jorge, in Calhau de São Jorge, which houses the ruins of sugar cane mills built at the beginning of the island's settlement. The Vigia viewpoint and Levada do Rei are also two places to visit during your stay at Casa da Fajã Alta.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.

You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
We inform that a Municipal Tourist Ecotax will be charged for person staying overnight in the municipality of Santana.
All guests staying in tourist developments and / or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged 2,00€ per person/night, up to a maximum 7 nigths stay/ 14€ per person. Close to your arrival, you will receive the link to pay this fee.

Uno de los días, después de un día de ruta no pudimos ducharnos por falta de agua caliente, la limpieza del baño era bastante mejorable, el desayuno si estas varios días es repetitivo y en los espacios comunes la temperatura no era confortable.

Das Zimmer im Erdgeschoß ist leider sehr klein. Haken zum aufhängen fehlen leider. So wenig Platz muss man optimaler nutzen.
Das Bett ist leider auch eher klein für 2, ca. 140cm, Matratze relativ hart.
Das Wasser in der Dusche wird meist nur morgens warm. Es wurde reklamiert, konnte aber leider nicht gelöst werden.
Das Frühstück war super, jedoch kein Buffet.

We really enjoyed staying here! The rooms were clean and comfy, the view and the garden terrace were stunning!
The Airbnb has big communal spaces where you can chill and relax. The breakfast was really good and the staff was lovely. Would 100% recommend to stay here! the location is very rural but if you have a car you can reach everything easily.

Everything was great! It is good place to work as "base" for jumping out after breakfast and coming back at evening. Breakfasts could be more various: something else instead of scrambled eggs/boiled/fried eggs or yoghurt with musli. Eveything else was good :)

Die Lage und Umgebung des sind ausgezeichnet. Der Blick von der Terrasse beim Frühstück oder bei einem Glas Wein am Abend sind atemberaubend. Der Aufenthalt wurde besonders durch die Anwesenheit von Sonia als Hausdame zu einem sehr schönen und familiären Erlebnis, bei dem man sich von der ersten Minute an sehr wohl gefühlt hat. Einziger kleiner Minuspunkt war die sehr geringe Größe des Zimmers. Mit zwei Personen und zwei vollen Koffern kann es sehr schnell sehr eng werden. Ansonsten alles perfekt.

What a beautiful environment to stay in. So quiet and peaceful. We had an amazing stay. Our room was perfect, the house has everything (the kitchen is also for use), and the garden is beautiful and perfect for relaxing. First, we want to mention that Linda and her team were great, and the location of the Airbnb was nice. However, we did have a few issues. When we arrived, the room was mostly clean, but there was a lot of hair in the bathroom. The towel rail was broken, and the bedside table drawers had a strong, unpleasant smell, making them unusable. The bathroom floor constantly leaked water, causing a bad odor throughout the whole room. Additionally, our room didn’t match the booking photos and was much smaller with little to no usable storage. When we tried to communicate these issues to the host, he didn’t show any understanding, stating that we should have mentioned something earlier. While we did like some parts of our stay, we probably wouldn’t book this Airbnb again.

The home is on a cliff side that gets the most incredible views. This is one of those really special stays where you almost wish you spent more time in the Airbnb. Some reviews wrote about difficulty finding the place and issues with parking but we had an easy time. Follow the link they send you for directions and parking is right out front. Linda was incredibly responsive and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this stay!

Zimmer im Erdgeschoss war für zwei Personen viel zu klein. Es fehlte der Platz um das Gepäck auszuräumen. Es gab eine Zwischentür zum Nachbarzimmer und es war allgemein sehr hellhörig und laut. Leider nicht für Langschläfer geeignet.

Die Unterkunft ist hübsch gelegen, etwas abseits, aber mit dem Auto kein Problem. Unser Zimmer entsprach leider nicht den Bildern und war sehr klein. Deswegen sind wir nur eine (von ursprünglich 6 geplanten) Nacht geblieben. Ansonsten war alles gut. Vielen Dank für die unkomplizierte Abwicklung.

Spent two nights in that beautiful house and have nothing to say but great things about my stay! Linda was such an amazing host, very kind and easy to communicate with. The breakfast is great and the whole place was beautiful and convenient to explore the area! I recommend!

We had a great stay! Located right in the nature with a great view. Perfect for some relaxing days in quiet surroundings. You definitely need a car to get around as there is not much in the neighborhood, e.g. to get dinner in a restaurant.

Très bon accueil de Linda qui était aux petits soins et très attentive à ce que notre séjour se déroule pour le mieux. Sa communication est rapide et efficace, toujours très serviable. L’endroit est calme, reposant. Le petit déjeuner préparé par Linda est bien fourni (salé, sucré), une excellente façon pour débuter nos journées.

The Casa was lovely and peaceful, just what was needed after energetic days exploring. Linda was the kindest host and very responsive. The rooms were spacious, although I would recommend ear plugs if situated in a ground floor room as you could often hear guests coming in, going up and down stairs and also filtering in to the dining space just outside. I had been nervous about parking the car outside the property up against the wall, as the roads are so narrow, but again, it seems this is mostly the custom in Madeira and the locals are used to getting past safely.

Die Aussicht und Lage. Die kleine Anzahl an Zimmern. Ein ruhiges Frühstück.
Es gab am ersten Tag nicht genug Warmwasser. Das Internet ist schlecht und es gibt kein netflix. Das Haus hat keine Schalldämmung und bei wind schlägt etwas am dach was einen nicht schlafen lässt. Keine Regale im bad. Das Bett ist zu klein für 2 Personen .
