A fantastic vacation home with a shared swimming pool, for a unique experience between wine and the laurissilva forest.
Set in a vineyard estate of around 25,000m2, it is located in a transition zone between the laurel forest and the farmland of São Vicente. The terraced vineyards are home to the Tinta Negra and Verdelho grape varieties, which produce the famous Madeira wine.
The property is part of a group of houses where you'll find a shared swimming pool and several gardens with centuries-old trees, including a large oak tree over 250 years old and several species endemic to the Laurissilva such as its, vinháticos, barbusanos and loureiros.
The house is decorated with various details, in a fusion of the classic and the contemporary, in keeping with the tradition of a family home. The property has capacity for 4 people, with a bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a sofa bed.
Inside the property you can enjoy the shared swimming pool, a stroll along the stream and the gardens or the yard outside, where you can have breakfast (not included), made every morning by the caretaker.
The main house has belonged to the same family since its inception and retains its original architecture, although it has undergone improvements and modernization.
AREA
The house is located in the north of the island, more precisely in Rosário, a parish in the municipality of São Vicente. As it is in a more isolated area, there are no shops in the vicinity of the property. A ten-minute drive from the town of São Vicente, you'll find local shops, restaurants, a supermarket and a pharmacy.
In the vicinity of the house you have access to several trails and levadas, where you can take the opportunity to stroll and explore our fantastic island on foot.
If you want to find other places or activities, the city of Funchal is a 45-minute drive away.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please note that the property does not have a laundry room. However, there is the possibility of requesting a laundry service, carried out by our cleaning team, at an extra cost and paid in cash directly to them. For more details or to arrange this service, please contact us during your stay.

We‘ve had a great time at this place. The check- in was very uncomplicated and smooth. The key was placed in a lock box. The host left some fruits for us as a welcoming, which was nice. Also there was coffee and tea and some milk. The location looked like on the photos. It‘s a beautiful surrounding between the mountains. During our stay the towels and bed lines were changed once, which was very mindful. The only thing we didn’t like was the bad smell due to the humidity. It was almost impossible to dry clothes and towels. Everything was very wet and also there had been some ants in the kitchen area. Beside that it was a reasonable accommodation.

A few things to just be aware of:
1. The pool looks AMAZING (especially lit up at night!) but isn't ideal for winter (it's unheated) so during this time of year during colder season, it is 16C & the water is FREEZING! It definitely would be lovely in the warmer months 🥰
2. internet/wifi login &password on airbnb page is incorrect-- follow the instructions on paper by the TV when you come in instead.
3. Google maps is very very wrong and took us to the wrong place-- it took us about 30min to find the correct place, but we called the host & they were very helpful.
4. There are 2 adorable pups wandering around! they seemed very hungry :'( we gave some water& food. Wouldn't hurt to bring dog treats :)
5. Front door has no blinds/privacy (you can see into the ENTIRE apt-- so you can't leave bathroom to go to bedroom in a towel)

Eine sehr schöne Wohnung mit direktem Blick in die Berge und den nachts beleuchteten Pool. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Es gibt im Badezimmer eine tolle Dusche die auch guten Wasserdruck hat. Das Schlafzimmer ist sehr gemütlich. Nach ein paar Tagen war es etwas feucht in der Wohnung, was wahrscheinlich am Regenwetter lag. Wir haben alle Ausflugsziele innerhalb von 30-45 min mit dem Auto erreicht. Der Wäschedienst war super.

Wir haben zwei Wochen dort verbracht und dafür war die Unterkunft perfekt.
Tolle Ausstattung (in der Küche war bereits eine Milch, Kaffee, Tee, Alufolie…) sodass man dort gut Zeit verbringen konnte.
Der Gemeinschaftspool war direkt vor unserer Tür und wir hatten die Terrasse meistens für uns. Der Ausblick in der Früh ist ein absoluter Traum.
Und auch die Lage ist wirklich super.
Die Unterkunft wurde einmal zwischendurch sogar gereinigt und wir konnten einen kostenlosen Wäscheservice in Anspruch nehmen. Alles sehr unkompliziert.
Also alles in allem wirklich super!

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans ce logement propre, avec une vue magnifique, un calme agréable et une jolie surprise avec deux petits chiens en guise d’accueil qui se roulent par terre et ne demandent qu’à être caresser c’est plutôt cool.
En revanche je trouve qu’il manque d’intimité car tout le monde peut voir ce que nous faisons quand nous sommes dans le salon, le logement reste humide, rien ne sèche et la piscine n’est pas chauffée et dangereuse au niveau des marches dans l’eau, c’est du carrelage et non un liner anti dérapant.
Nous remercions Linda pour son accueil et sa réactivité par téléphone quand nous en avions eu besoin.

We spent two lovely weeks here. It was a fantastic base from which to explore Madeira and also gave us a peaceful place to relax when we needed it. The apartment had everything we needed and the pool and beautiful garden were added bonuses. We had excellent communication from Island Apart and Linda was incredibly helpful.

You really pay for the views! We loved how peaceful and relaxing the space was. The only thing I will say is I think it’s a bit expensive considering the indoor amenities. The tv was very small, not a smart tv either so we couldn’t watch any films at night, no dishwasher, the door only closes by having the key in it and as well because there was other people staying there we found it strange there was no curtain covering the door considering it’s a glass door that looks into the main space. Each night we hung a blanket over the door just for a bit more privacy. As well the beds were 2 individual beds together which we were not huge fans of but we slept well anyway. Again I think you pay for the view but a few more details with the interior and it would have been perfect! We had a wonderful stay altogether regardless! I also heard reviews of a welcome pack with some local goodies which there was none but would have been a nice touch (especially for the price point!)

Eine wunderschöne, helle, freundliche, saubere und sehr moderne Unterkunft mit einem wunderschönen Pool vor atemberaubender Bergkulisse vor der Haustür. Die Unterkunft ist etwas abgelegen, aber mit dem Auto ist man schnell im Ort (bei Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Sehenswürdigkeiten). Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig und friedlich und auf dem Gelände sind auch Ziegen und Hühner zu finden. Die Kommunikation war sehr gut, unser Host sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir konnten auch sehr spät noch einchecken und in der Unterkunft wartete ein liebevolles Willkommenspaket mit Madeirawein, dem traditionellen Kuchen, Obst und Milch auf uns. Eine sehr luxuriöse Unterkunft für Naturliebhaber mitten im Grünen.

Our stay in Madeira was full of exploration and a magical experience. The Airbnb was more simple/expensive than expected and had 2 small beds pushed together instead of one large bed for a couple to sleep together. This was fixed on the last night by covering across both mattresses with a fitted sheet and we appreciated it, so at least we weren’t falling between crack of the beds. Wifi is very on/off if there is overcast, during our stay we used data. The pool temperature was very cold, but perfect if you enjoy cold plunges. Amazing view, and kind staff. Unfortunately our heater was broken throughout the stay, and fixed on the last night, so our time at the accommodation was very fresh and chilly, especially at night. The host kindly brought us some coffee grounds on our first morning, thank you! It would have been great if the ad showed some more candid photos of the lodge, including the bathroom and setup in the bedroom. The location is spectacular, staff are responsive and friendly.

Un petit coin de paradis avec une vue magnifique.
Des petites attentions à notre arrivée qui font bien plaisir.
Piscine propre.
L'appartement est cependant bien humide, difficile de faire sécher des affaires.
Notre chambre était également collée à un local technique qui casse un peu le calme du lieu à cause d'un réveil parfois un peu trop matinal (8h00).
Bonne connexion wifi.
Le logement dispose de places de parking privées bien pratiques.
Des petites attentions à notre arrivée qui font bien plaisir.

Location and view was fantastic, overall property and gardens was amazing, design was fab, kitchen had good facilities and equipment for cooking. There is also parking, which is super helpful! Overall loved it, and would definitely stay again

Wir starteten unseren 14tägigen Madeira Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft. Super Lage um die Berge und Gegend zu erkunden, und schöne Levada Wanderungen zu unternehmen. Tolles Aparment mit schönem Pool ; perfekt, um auf der Terasse gemütlich zu Frühstücken. Sehr stilvoll eingerichtet mit gut ausgestattener Küche. Der Garten ist sehr gepflegt und es gibt eine coole Grillstelle.. Es gab 3 super süsse Hunde auf dem Anwesen und die Familie ist sehr herzlich. Die Lage ist super für Ausflüge, jedoch hat der Standort auf Airbnb nicht gestimmt, was zimlich mühsam war. Noch einige Mängel: Das Schloss der Eingangstür klemmt extrem, wir hatten weder Empfang in der Wohnung, noch hat das Wlan funktioniert (wurde gar nicht erst angezeigt), wir hatten eine Ameisen-Strasse im Schlafzimmer und ich empfand die Registrierung über diese Website zimlich aufwändig. Schönes Airbnb, ich finde es jedoch für diese Mängel etwas teuer.

Cadre dépaysant, agence réactive, décoration magnifique, gentilles attentions à l’arrivée, possibilité de faire laver et sécher son linge lorsqu’on le souhaite. Seul hic l’humidité présente dans toutes les pièces du très certainement à la saison. Heureusement des chauffages de compétition viennent à la rescousse !

Nieuw appartement, gelegen op een wijngaard als onderdeel van groot woonhuis met meerdere appartementen erin, die ook verhuurd worden. Vriendelijk ontvangen door Linda. Ruimte is niet zo groot, maar alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Direct aan zwembad. Prachtig uitzicht. Tijdens ons verblijf van 4 nachten regende het veel, dan is er niet veel te doen in de omgeving. In deze tijd van het jaar komt de zon niet boven de naastgelegen berg uit, waardoor je niet in de zon kunt zitten, als deze schijnt ;). Kregen leuke restaurant tips van Linda (Caravela restaurant, Virgilio Restaurant, Baia dos Juncos Restaurant, Porto de Abrigo for drinks), allen bij de zee op zo’n 5-10 minuten rijden. Er is daar ook een ruime supermarkt. Al met al zouden we het aanraden, hopelijk in mooier weer!

We truly loved our stay here. This tucked away gem is all you need if you want to relax and unwind .. it’s is quiet and you can listen to the birds and nearby creek. If you want to go to the sea you’ll just drive down the hill for about 5 mins .. it was our favorite place to stay in Madeira out of 3 areas and places we tried . The apartment was very stylish and brand new renovated and we were the first guests staying here. The communication with our host was always prompt and friendly and she made sure we had everything we needed.
