Apartment in a renovated historic building, equipped with all the facilities for a fantastic vacation in Funchal. Located in one of the downtown areas of the capital of Madeira Island, this building is close to services, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions.
Functional one-bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor of a historic building, with good natural light, contemporary decor inspired by traditional elements of the island, such as wickerwork, and landscapes of old Madeira. Ideal accommodation for a business or leisure trip. It offers every comfort and convenience for a pleasant stay, with a living area, TV with cable channels, sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen, air conditioning, dining area, bathroom with shower and bedroom with double bed. Maximum capacity for 4 people.

AREA
Guests have quick and easy access to various restaurants, stores, shopping centers and supermarkets.
This building is very close to the Farmers' Market, Funchal's Old Town and the Cathedral. From here you can explore the city's many tourist attractions on foot (e.g. cable car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...).
Barreirinha’s beach or São Tiago’s beach is about fifteen minutes away on foot, where you can relax and take a dip.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
There is a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the apartment.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in. If the reservation is made less than 14 days before check-in, the cancellation is free up to 48 hours after the reservation, up to a maximum of 5 days before check-in.
After that, guests may cancel up to 5 days prior to check-in and receive a refund of the price per night and the cleaning fee, but not of the service fee.

Il est au centre de la ville de funchal ce qui est très pratique pour les transports et la visite des différents monuments/attractions. Plusieurs parking sont a proximité du logement si besoin. Ce fut le meilleur logement que j'ai réservé ces dernières années

The next unfortunate situation was when they had sent the cleaners to drop off additional towels while we were out for dinner. We came back to the unit hours later to the door completely wide open, not just unlocked but wide open. All of our belongings were out inside of the unit (electronics, passports, valuables) for literally anyone in the building to be able to walk right in. Anyone could have been in the unit and anyone could have stolen our belongings.

We are deeply sorry for the negative experiences you had during your stay. Arriving to find the apartment unclean and later discovering the door left wide open are unacceptable and distressing. We understand the significant inconvenience and worry this caused, and for that, we are truly sorry.

Die Sanitäranlagen sollten dringend überarbeitet werden. Beim Duschen rinnt das Wasser heraus und danach ist das halbe Bad nass. Auch beim WC gab es Probleme mit dem Abfluss sodass wir es einen Tag lang nicht benutzen konnten.
Die Kommunikation mit Island Apart lief leider etwas holprig. Uns wurde keine konkrete Uhrzeit für die Reinigung genannt - was mit einem Baby ziemlich unpraktisch ist. Auch als ich wegen der Problematik mit dem WC anfragte, bekam ich nur ein "wir leiten das weiter" als Antwort. Als bis am Abend niemand da war, haben wir uns dann selbst im EKZ eine Saugglocke besorgt und das Problem gelöst.

Not much. The bins at the ground floor of the property could have been taken out more if possible. The toilet piping is probably too narrow and would get stuck often even if used correctly.

Checkin was a bit of an issue because the keybox was broken, we saw another guest having the same issue, but the staff/host came to the rescue. We were tired from delayed flight, couldn’t imagine if it was a late evening checkin with a kid in tow.
The shower area is very slippery and does not have enough barrier to keep water in. It got super wet on the floors very quickly. Wish they differentiate the height and the flooring in the bathroom.
