The Solar dos Reis has a large common area for all guests, kitchen and living room. Separately, it offers five bedrooms with heating, double bed or single bed, mini bar, private bathroom with shower and direct access to the exterior. Maximum capacity for 2 persons per room.
The garden welcomes visitors. As you walk through it you reach the heart of the house, where you will find a patio whose central area is occupied by the main house, small corners, comfortable seating areas and access to the rest of the property's surrounding space. The pool (heated) and its views dazzle in all their fullness. Enjoy the zen space and exercise in the open air, visit the organic vegetable garden and walk the mini footpath (natural reflexology therapy).

AREA
Solar dos Reis is located in the west of the island (the area with the most sun exposure in Madeira), in the parish of Tabua, municipality of Ribeira Brava, in an area bordering the municipality of Ponta do Sol.
Explore some of the interests closest to the house, such as the Nossa Senhora da Conceição Chapel. This chapel was a reconstruction of the old chapel of the same name, destroyed in the flood of 1696. Next door to the house is also the famous Levada Nova, where you can explore on foot and enjoy the breathtaking views of the western part of Madeira Island. Close to the House there is also a link to Paul da Serra via a dirt road, which you can take a jeep ride on, where you can explore for a more extreme experience.
There are other tourist attractions to explore during your stay at Solar dos Reis: the Miradouro do Espigão, Ribeira Brava (viewpoint), MUDAS - Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira (Calheta), Ponta do Sol beach, Madeira Ethnographic Museum (Ribeira Brava) and more.
Funchal is about a 20-minute drive from the Solar dos Reis.

The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.

You have access to all areas of the property.

- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

Alles war perfekt. Am besten fand ich, dass ein Levadawanderweg unmittelbar vor dem Hotel vorbeigeht und man dort direkt anfangen kann zu wandern. Auch das abendliche Bad im Pool im Mondschein und unter den Sternen wird mir dank des 28 Grad warmen Wassers in Erinnerung bleiben, da spielte es keine Rolle, dass die Außentemperatur bei 15 Grad lag. Sehr liebenswerte Gastgeber mit Blick fürs Detail.

Wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub und Aufenthalt im Solar dos Reis. Besonders das Frühstück, was zwar jeden Tag das gleiche, aber jeden Tag sehr lecker war, hat uns gefallen. Den Pool haben wir aufgrund der Wetterschwankungen nicht so oft genutzt, aber wenn’s wärmer ist, es ist eine tolle Option nach einem aktiven Tag. Zimmer war ausreichend ausgestattet.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were really kind and helpful. Nice breakfast with fresh fruits everyday. We cooked once in the kitchen, which was equiped with everything we needed. The pool and the daily cleaning of the room were a big plus. Central location to discover Madeira by car. Piękny dom, idealnie czysto, fantastyczne wyposażenie wnętrz i cudowny ogród z basenem.
Okolica bardzo spokojna, mnóstwo zieleni i natury. Można od razu spod domu wyruszyć na górski spacer.
Wygodne miejsca parkingowe, dobre instrukcje dojazdu.
Miła, dyskretna obsługa. Pokoje były codziennie sprzątane, więc bywało nawet zbyt czysto. ;) Świetnie było mieć ręczniki kąpielowe i basenowe.
Czysta, dobrze wyposażona wspólna kuchnia. Dostęp do wszystkich sprzętów, mnóstwo przypraw, ekspres do kawy - wszystko, czego potrzeba, by przygotować domową kolację.
Smaczne i miło serwowane śniadania. Poprosiłam o menu wegetariańskie, a dostałam nawet produkty wegańskie. To bardzo miłe!
Jedyną niegogodnoscią może być to, że w pokojach nie ma klimatyzacji. Niespodziewanie trafiły nam się wysokie temperatury, więc wieczorami trzeba było wietrzyć pokój. Ale pomieszczenia są wysokie i łatwo zrobić przewiew.

This small hotel is located in a very beautiful place between the mountains. The sound from the Levada Novo is very calming. There is a beautiful garden, well taken care off. The rooms are nice, very good size and clean. Mr. Danilo who runs the place is very nice and he cares about it. The breakfast was nice with eggs, bread, cheese, cereals and fruits, every morning Carmen or Mr. Danilo was ready to prepare the breakfast and eggs. We had a wonderful week and we absolutely love this place. It was hard to leave.

In Airbnb agency operating this place but in real life the owner is there and it a small (5 rooms) family hotel. With amazing views, fresh coffee and juice for breakfast. Sometimes the owner cooks it some time other lady. Super cozy.

This was our second stay and it was absolutely lovely once more. The hotel is beautiful, provides everything one might need and the entire staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is nice and provides opportunities to chat with other guests. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen to make occasional lunches and dinners. Would stay again at any time! We were not in love with the bed sheets (made us feel a bit sweaty), but that was a very minor thing.
Being a bit higher up the valley means the weather might be a bit worse than at the coast (but on the other hand you get great views!).

Absolutely fantastic hosts and space. It is clear to see that An Island has invested a lot of time, effort, and expense into making this work. There has been no expense spared on the furniture and fixtures, which suit the environment perfectly. I never got a chanceto try the pool, but the next time I come, I will sit in thr pool and watch the sun set.

Doskonałe warunki na tygodniowy pobyt, cicho, komfortowo i kameralnie. To miejsce naprawdę idealne, cały budynek, pokój i wspólna przestrzeń odrestaurowany z dużym wyczuciem estetycznym w każdym detalu, perfekcyjnie dobrane kolory, naturalny kamień i drewno. Mimo, że nie przebywaliśmy na miejscu przez cały dzień, to jednak było bardzo przyjemnie wieczorem spędzić czas w basenie i popływać w ciepłej wodzie, ogromny relaks po górskich wędrówkach. Śniadanie maderskie, bogate w słodkie, dojrzałe owoce. W pokoju cicha lodówka, wygodne szerokie łóżko z białą pościelą (codziennie pokój był sprzątany), za oknem basen i piękny ogród. Z wielką przyjemnością polecam to miejsce.

Bellissima casa tipica, ben ristrutturata e posizionata in un luogo tranquillo da cui partono diverse passeggiate (Levada). Camera matrimoniale con bagno privato di buone dimensioni, con frigo in camera e spazio adeguato per vestiti e valige. Ricca e ottima colazione (frutta, pane, formaggi, marmellate, the, caffè ecc) inclusa nel prezzo preparata tutte le mattine dalla proprietaria. Cucina in comune ben organizzata. Bellissima la piscina riscaldata in comune di cui poter godere anche dopo tramonto! È stato un bellissimo soggiorno!

This is a. ery special place. O e of the most beautiful spots i have stayed in Portugal. They did a phénoménal job on the ruin reform and everything was very high-end, from the brass fixtures to the furnishings in the room and the comfortable bed. The owners and staff were lovely, as was the big breakfast. It felt like a good spot for a honeymoon. i will definitely be back. Thank you again.

Wir blieben für vier Nächte in der Casa dos Reis und waren mehr als zufrieden. Aufgrund der Bilder und Bewertungen haben wir viel erwartet, doch die Erwartungen wurden noch übertroffen. Selten haben wir so saubere Zimmer gesehen (diese wurden täglich gereinigt), die Gemeinschaftsküche war bestens ausgestattet und das Ehepaar, das das Anwesen leitet, ist aufmerksam, super freundlich und heißt einen herzlich willkommen. Die Unterkunft liegt an einem Abschnitt der Levada Nova, weshalb wir nach dem reichhaltigen Frühstück direkt loswandern konnten. Ein Mietwagen ist empfehlenswert, um einzukaufen und z. B. zum Ausgangspunkt der Levada do Moinho zu gelangen. Die Anfahrt zur Unterkunft ist super leicht, man muss stellenweise das Navi ignorieren und einfach nur geradeaus fahren. Nach dem Wandern war der Pool genau das Richtige, abends kann man gemütlich draußen sitzen und jederzeit die beiden Sportgeräte hinter dem Haus nutzen. Trotz gemeinschaftlich genutzter Bereiche hat man seine Ruhe, ein höflicher und respektvoller Umgang miteinander sollte immer selbstverständlich sein, egal ob großes Hotel oder kleineres Anwesen. Wir sind begeistert und kommen wieder! Es gibt absolut nichts zu kritisieren. Dinge, die in anderen Bewertungen als Kritikpunkte erwähnt wurden (Föhn, Kühlschrank), wurden inzwischen umgesetzt.

Die Unterkunft lag ca. 3,9 km von Tabua entfernt in einem ziemlich naturbelassen, sehr engen und steilen ansteigenden Tal und lag sehr abgelegen. Dementsprechend war die Anfahrt. Die Unterkunft konnten wir erst nach Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Vermieter(in) und unter zurhilfenahme vonKoordinaten finden. Das Quartier bestand aus einem Schlafraum mit Dusche und Toilette sowie eine gemeinsam genutzten Aufenthaltsraum mit Küche. Für einen gemütlichen Abend war das Zimmer eher ungeeignet. Der gemeinsamen Aufenthaltsraum/Küchen wurde auch vom Hausbetreuer(eigentümer?), der mit im Objekt gewohnt hat, genutzt. An einem Nachmittag war der Hausherr den ganzen Nachmittag mit Gästen bis in den späten Abend im Aufenthaltsraum, so dass wir ihn nicht nutztn konnten. Sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig.
Ansonsten war das Objekt sehr gepflegt, die Zimmer sehr sauber und die Küche und der Aufenthaltsraum ansprechend. Die Betten wurden jeden Tag vom Zimmerservice hergerichtet, worauf wir lieber verzichtet hätten.

Sehr freundlicher Besitzer, der uns sogar mit einem Poncha empfangen hat. Hotel und Anlage sind sehr sauber und gepflegt, der Pool und der Liegebereich sind wunderschön. Badehandtücher wurden vom Hotel zur Verfügung gestellt. Wer möchte, darf die Küche des Hauses nutzen. Obstschale auf dem Zimmer und täglich eine Flasche stilles Wasser. Gemütlicher Speiseraum mit liebevoll zubereitetem Frühstück (Einschränkung - siehe unten). Absolut ruhige Lage in den Bergen ( man muss sich aber im Klaren sein, dass dies eine ca. 5 km lange Anfahrt über eine Serpentinenstraße bedeutet) Unser Zimmer war klein und hatte nur einen offenen Kleiderschrank mit sehr kleinen Schubladen und gerade mal 4 Kleiderbügeln. Im Badezimmer gab es weder Duschgel noch einen Fön. Das Waschbecken war winzig und die Armaturen zwar stimmig zum Design, aber unpraktisch. Das leckere Frühstück sah jeden Tag absolut identisch aus und wir hatten die eine Sorte Wurst und Käse schnell über. Da das Hotel wirklich sehr abgelegen ist hätten wir die Anregung, einen Gästekühlschrank mit Getränken anzuschaffen. Man sitzt sonst abends mit einem Glas Leitungswasser am Pool.

Anfitriões muito acolhedores e simpáticos, pequeno-almoço excecional, piscina exterior quente e espetacular, quarto com todas as comodidades necessárias (pena termos ficado no Twin com 2 camas individuais, mas foi o quarto disponível) e estacionamento acessível junto ao alojamento. Excelente Localização, central em temos geográficos, permitindo visitar e conhecer todos os cantos e pontos da Ilha através da rede de estradas rápidas. TOP TOP TOP, um dos melhores alojamentos, senão o melhor em que já estive em viagem de férias. Não me lembro, sentimo-nos muito bem e será certamente uma opção de alojamento numa próxima viagem à Ilha da Madeira.

I highly recommend Casa dos Reis - located in a beautiful place surrounded by nature. Very friendly and helpful owners, Danilo and Luisa, made our stay really enjoyable, it felt like home away from home. Tasty breakfast served by the owners every morning - freshly made scrambled eggs, rolls straight out of the oven, homemade cakes and delicious coffee. There was a small fridge in the room so we could buy our favourite food and make some sandwiches on the go for our daily adventures (kitchen is open until late so you can use it at any time). Beds were really comfortable, room was cleaned every day - not to mention heated pool, which was perfect after long hikes 😁 If we ever come back to Madeira we will definitely be staying with Danilo and Luisa! ---

De plek is fantastisch. Er is rust, uitzicht, een klein zwembadje en fijne ontbijtruimte. Vlakbij kun je een levada wandeling maken, levada nova, 50 m van het terrein kun je ‘m in twee richtingen volgen. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. De locatie en het personeel vinden we een 10 waard, maar een aantal andere dingen zeker nog niet. We hebben een paar puntjes feedback: er was geen shampoo of douchegel op de kamer, we misten een föhn en we vonden het ontbijt tegenvallen. De broodjes waren niet vers, de jus d organge ook niet. De cakejes waren verpakt en niet vers gebakken. De kamers zijn netjes, maar kunnen best was sfeervoller worden aangekleed.

Nous avons passé un séjour magnifique à la Casa dos Reis. Cette maison a été rénovée récemment et c’est très très beau, entièrement neuf.
Danielo et Louisa sont les gérants de l’établissement et sont des personnes vraiment adorables, serviables et très gentils, en plus d’être très accueillants.
Les lits sont très bons, chambres et sanitaires ravissants et la propreté est au rendez vous, rien à redire c’est parfait.
L’établissement dispose en plus de chambres très belles et confortables, d’une salle commune avec cuisine salon et salle à manger, un vrai meeting point avec les autres occupants et les propriétaires, où il est toujours bon se faire offrir un verre de Poncha par Danielo et Louisa.
Je ne regrette absolument pas ce séjour inoubliable, et nous reviendrons avec un très grand plaisir.
Situé à 5mn en voiture de Ribeira Brava, perché à Tabua dans les montagnes, dans le plus grand des calmes.
Petite piscine à débordement chauffée à 28 degrés en février, une vue agreable sur la vallée, des commerces pas loin dans la ville en dessous…
Je recommande ce logement qui est excellent, beau, et rempli de sympathie, avec un très bon rapport qualité prix.
Nous reviendrons avec plaisir ! Rien, tout est parfait.

Everything was perfect, hosts are very welcoming and make you feel more like in home than in a hotel. There is a very nice common area with fully equipped kitchen. What we really liked was beautiful swimming pool with heated water so we actually could go inside even in February. Second thing was a proper heating in the room which is not very common in Portugal and is very handy after rainy day in the mountains. Would appreciate to have hairdryer and shampoo in the bathroom.
