AREA
The building has a common entrance to all the properties and is located in Rua da Carreira, one of the main arteries of Funchal. From this property you will be able to know and visit on foot the main points of interest of the capital of Madeira Island. It is close to restaurants, shopping centres, bars, museums, the Cathedral of Funchal, Funchal Municipal Garden, Marina of Funchal and Municipal Theatre.
In the city centre there is plenty of information about all kinds of activities you can do during your holidays: cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Очень классные аппартаменты в центре Фуншала, было все необходимое на кухне, приятный современный дизайн, кровать большая и удобная. Даже чай, кофе и масло были в номере. И даже стиральный порошок))
За 4 дня не было уборки, если бы была тряпка с ведром, я бы уже сама была готова прибраться, но увы.. Так же вопрос с вентиляцией, уходили и закрывали балконную дверь, а по приходу немного сыровато и душновато было. Так же в квартире есть стиральная машина, но где сушить вещи - не понятно) было бы круто добавить сушилку на балкон или что-то вроде того

Wohnung liegt direkt in der Innenstadt. Bietet alles was man benötigt. Kleine aber dafür trotzdem vollausgestattete Küche. Restaurants und Bar sind fußläufig erreichbar.

Mieszkanie położone w doskonałej lokalizacji, odnowiony budynek, winda w obiekcie, czysto, w trakcie pobytu wymiana pościeli i ręczników, cicho (od strony dziedzińca), podstawowe wyposażenie aneksu kuchennego, duża łazienka. W pobliżu piekarnie, kawiarnie, restauracje, kilka minut spacerem największa galeria handlowa w mieście.
Brak klimatyzacji, trochę doskwiera też brak moskitier w oknach i związane z tym komary wlatujące do środka, a z uwagi na brak klimatyzacji trzeba wietrzyć. Nie zmienia to pozytywnego odbioru całego pobytu.

This was an incredible experience! The location was absolutely perfect. Directly in the historical center of Funchal. The apartment was stylish, beautiful, and creative. Had no working air conditioner, terribly hot and no way to cool down the area, reached out to maintenance multiple times then was promised a discount that was not ever submitted. Now being told I have to wait for booking.com to issue discount - I have had no follow up from any representative. I expect an appropriate discount due to paying for services I did not receive and ultimately contributed to a very uncomfortable stay.

We totally understand your message and as we explained, reservations from Booking.com the host must to send a message to the Booking.com customer service asking to update the rental price. We did it on 28th July and Booking.com never answer us. As you can understand this reservation was paid to Booking.com and they have the responsability to refund you when the host ask. We did it. However, we're insisting with Booking.com to try to understand what we should do to send you the refund.
About the AC, sometimes this kind of of appliance breaks down and sometimes there are more serious problems that can't be solved immediately... as was the case here.
We're sorry for this inconvenience and we're trying to handle it as fast as possible.

J ai demandé un parking pour pouvoir garé ma voiture, le parking proposé :fermé le soir et le dimanche et un des plus chers de la ville environ 1,7 l'heure, pas cool le renseignement ,pourtant il avait un parking proche à des prix très raisonnables ouvrr 24h /24h
J ai loué l appartement pendant une semaine
Jamais de ménage fait ni serviettes changés , une semaine les serviettes qui restent humides !

Ideal place for a few days stay in Funchal for 1 or 2 people. Easy walk from the Aerobus stop.
Not far from local restaurants. Very quiet at night with the shutters closed and slept really well.
Quickly got used to the two flights of stairs. Highly recommended.

Great location and easy access to the apartment.
I hoped to be having a bit of a view rather than looking to the internal concrete garden. A bit expensive for what it was. If would have had some trees in the internal garden would have looked a bit more holidaylike.

It had everything we needed including a small balcony, a modern kitchen, a large TV and a washing machine. The only thing that was missing was a dishwasher but it was still okay for only one week. What was especially comfortable was that we did not need a code for getting in and out of the apartment, we could enter it via a code. All in all, we would always recommend the apartment and would love to come back.

The room was spacious even though it was a studio and very nicely renovated and decorated. The apartment has a very central location in the city.
I didn't find my room clean, there were stains on the pillows and sheets and lots of woman hair on the floor when I arrived to my room. But it might just been an oversight from the cleaning crew as I read good reviews about the apartment.

we had an amazing stay at An Island. A great host who is super attentive. the place is perfect for two and is in the middle of Funchal. lots of great restaurants. We were around Christmas time. The lights are magnificent, absolutely recommend to book your stay here. Many thanks!

De geur in het appartement was niet aangenaam, misschien dat het door de nieuwigheid van de meubels kwam. Daarnaast rook het beddengoed niet fris en miste we een airco. Door de hitte sliepen we daarom met de ramen open, maar hadden veel last van muggen.

The room was very nice and super well equipped, the kitchen has a large fridge and a kombi oven that is both a microwave and a normal oven at the same time. The staff was very nice and was super responsive and helpful when we needed help. The location is really convenient, with parking options only a few minutes away (Arcades Sao Francisco, Santa Luzia) and also supermarkets nearby.

Nice clean apartment. Everything you need (except of wine opener 😁). Close to the center. Easy check-in and check-out. Mid cleaning was good.
Different room than advertised on picture. It was the same building but ours was way more smaller than the one on pictures. It was just one room with very small balcony to the atrium. So to sum up, it was very nice apartment/room, but the owner should really advertise each room separately. For the price we could eventually take different one that was bigger.

Posizione molto comoda in pieno centro e vicino al porto. Stanza spaziosa, luminosa e pulita.
L'assistenza da parte gestori è stata scarsa: abbiamo chiesto cuscini in più e non ci sono stati dati.
La porta d'ingresso con chiusura automatica ha avuto diversi problemi: due volte su tre quando uscivamo non si chiudeva, abbiamo chiesto assistenza e ci è stato detto di utilizzare delle chiavi che non siamo riuscite a trovare, ci hanno promesso di passare a controllare ma non sono mai venuti.
Le finestre non hanno zanzariere che sarebbero state davvero necessarie.
Nel letto c'è un piumino che fa molto caldo, nessun lenzuolo.
Finestra durissima da aprire e chiudere.

This apartment is very clean and cosy, freshly renovated. It is right in the center of Funchal, so the location is perfect. Check-in
with codes was easy, and it was also super easy to organise a late check-out online. The kitchen had all the necessary tools, and the washing machine is exactly what is needed for a longer vacation. It was a very pleasant stay, I can definitely recommend the apartment.

Good location. Newly decorated and clean.
Could do with bins being changed as they start to smell and there is no air extraction. Sheets on bed were too small to fit the mattress and could do with a change after a few days.
All in all if the above can be fixed it’s a 5 star stay.

Die Lage ist gut als Ausgangspunkt um Funchal zu erkunden. Um die Ecke gibt es zwei gute Restaurants die wir empfehlen können. Ein Burgerladen und ein Churroladen.
Ich weiß gar nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Das Zimmer roch nach Rauch, die Klimaanlage war defekt, das WLAN ging am ersten Tag nicht, das komplette Geschirr war dreckig, die Nachttischlampe war abgebrochen und viele andere Kleinigkeiten auf die man wohl nicht geachtet hätte wenn der Rest nicht so katastrophal gewesen wäre. Für diesen Preis bekommt man sicher eine bessere Unterkunft. Der Zugang durch die Schlüsselcodes ist zudem unglaublich umständlich wenn man sich die Codes nicht merken kann.

This appt had everything you needed. The washmachine was a gift, I could go home with clean laundry again haha. There was a full kitchen to cook your own food if you wanted to. The location is oerfect for when you do not have a drivers license. And the codes as a house key is genius, No fear of losing the keys on vacation.
The tv got turned on by a neighbours remote. Shook me to death. But everything was truly perfect. Nothing to say to make this appt better.

Sehr schöne und saubere Unterkunft, alles hat den Bilder entsprochen. Es gibt eine kleine Küchenzeile, die gut ausgestattet ist, sogar eine Waschmaschine. Auch das Bad war schön und sauber. Der Check in war sehr einfach, man bekommt vor der Ankunft einfach einen Code für die Eingangs- und Wohnungstür. Restaurants, Supermarkt und Bäcker sind fußläufig in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Parken ist etwas schwierig, da direkt vor der Unterkunft nicht geparkt werden darf. Es gibt aber einige günstige Parkhäuser in der Nähe.
Bei unserem Aufenthalt war leider die Ventilation im Bad kaputt, sodass immer eine sehr hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit im Zimmer herrschte. Die Eigentümer sind aber informiert und haben uns gesagt, dass das Problem behoben noch wird.
Nachts das Fenster zu öffnen war aufgrund der vielen Mücken auf Madeira nicht möglich, eine Klimaanlage ist aber vorhanden.
Alles in allem ein sehr schöner und angenehmer Aufenthalt, den wir definitiv weiterempfehlen würden.

Our only suggestion would be a heated towel in the bathroom, as the bathroom had little ventilation and the towels stayed very wet. We were lucky enough to have a small balcony so not too much of a problem, but don't think many of the other apartments did.
Also a folder with all the instruction manuals for appliances would be useful.
