Totally refurbished to welcome you, its entire space was designed for your comfort and well-being. The modern and careful decoration is in tune with the historical streets that surround this city building. With a bedroom with double bed, a bathroom and a generous open space, this apartment is perfect to discover the charms of Funchal.
The house is fully equipped and has all the amenities to make you feel at home.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA
This house is located in a privileged central area, right in the heart of the city of Funchal. At 15 minutes walking distance from the Lavradores Market and the Old Town of Funchal, from here you can explore on foot the several touristic points of our beautiful city (e.g. Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...)
TRANSPORTATION
With a bus stop in the vicinity (five minutes away), transport will not be a problem for our guests.
For departures and arrivals from the airport, there is an aerobus stop about seven minutes from the house, although the best option to reach the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the cabs you find at the airport!

Guests have access to all areas of the apartment.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
We are always available to help or answer questions. Please contact us via cell phone numbers or email. We will do our best to respond to all requests.
OTHER REMARKS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid identification document (e.g. passport, identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If not booked within a maximum of 48 hours, guests will be subject to our staff's availability.
- All bed linens and towels are provided. We can also place a crib, high chair, and baby bathtub if needed. There is a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and fire blanket at all properties.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Not super comfortable. The couch was really not comfortable at all and the bed also not super comfortable but then again I think that’s a European thing. Appreciated the fans and the AC. Liked the equipped kitchen. There was an odd smell as you entered the place, mildew kind of at the entrance to the building.

We had a late check out because the lock was broken, which is weird, since check out is at 12, but next check in is at 4 and they could not manage it between these hours.
The room was cold and later we understood that he window was broken, therefore it was extra loud and cold. When I contacted the staff about it, I received an answer that it is not possible to fix the window fast and the staff did not even apologise for that.
The room didn't feel very clean, TV was foggy and the apartment just needs basic renovation since everything is so used.

The place is older and not as well kept as we expected. There were noticeable stains on the couch and old. We weren’t able to on the couch much as the cushion kept sliding out.
This place also has an odour that was not pleasant and the host did provide an air freshener and (a toilet bowl cleaner) without informing us, which was alarming when we returned.
Lastly, the air conditioning was not functioning during our stay and the host did provide a fan (again without notice). However without the AC, the unit was always damp and things were never fully dry.

Good sized apartment.
The kitchen had everything we needed.
After check in someone from the staff entered the apartment without knocking or calling out to let us know they entered. As they opened the door to the bedroom they found us changing clothes and scared us. We communicated this to the reception as soon as it happened and they promised to get back to us. However they did not and later in the week they claimed not to have received such complaint when we pointed this out.
We found some sort of bug that looks very similar to bedbugs.
Bedsofa was uncomfortable to sit on.

Sehr hellhöriges Zimmer. Schimmel im Bad und modriger Geruch da sehr viel Feuchte vorhanden. Ausstattung in Küche ind Bad ist sehr billig und ungepflegt. Betten sind sehr unbequem, da Federkerne schon abgenutzt sind. Die Anfrage das Fenster zu reparieren wurde mit einer unfreundlichen Nachricht geantwortet ohne eine Lösung anzubieten.

Las cortinas estaban atascadas y no se podían abrir/cerrar bien. La mampara es muy corta y se sale el agua. El pomo de la puerta no gira y si juntas la puerta te quedas encerrado. Por suerte nos dimos cuenta antes de cerrar. El ascensor sólo funcionó los dos últimos días, el resto estuvo averiado.

Two things I recommended the team to improve on:
1. Change the doorknob of the bathroom as it’s quite difficult to open the door with it and
2. Add a shower door so the floor doesn’t get wet or water leaked out when showering or provide a rug so the water doesn’t wet the bathroom floor.

il y avait des travaux SUPER bruyants en continu de 8h du matin à 17h le soir, même les fenêtres fermées on ne s’entendait pas parler. Le service client n’a pas été réactif du tout quand on a demandé remboursement pour changer d’appartement ils nous ont répondu 4 jours après presque à la fin de notre séjour et sans aucune empathie en nous stipulant que s’agissant de travaux privés ils n’étaient pas dans l’obligation de nous en informer et que les ouvriers travaillaient selon l’horaire légal donc nous n’avions rien à dire.

On Saturday 15.08 around 20:30 I messaged the staff that the aircon was not working. I got no response for about an hour, so I called to follow up. The staff asked me to check the aircon in the apartment next door. I did so and informed that the aircon was also not working there . The staff member response was "We'll call technician tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience". The staff member offered no solution for the evening, accepting that I would have a sleepless night in the hot apartment. The staff member did not answer further messages from me.
An expression of regret, while nice, is not a solution. An appropriate solution could have been any of the following
1. "We'll send a technician around to fix it now"
2. "We'll give you a different apartment with working aircon tonight, and help you move"
3. "We don't have an alternative apartment with aircon available, we'll book you somewhere else with aircon tonight at our expense and help you move".
I contacted booking.com as there was no resolution. Booking.com customer service could not resolve the situation as the staff member only answered their phone once and did not provide booking.com staff with any solutions.
In order to avoid a sleepless night, I booked an inexpensive, small room with aircon at the closest hotel. As the property was in breach of contract by not providing aircon, it should pay for this. To date they have refused to do so.
I left next day.
My advice to other travellers: Book here at your own risk and peril. If things go well, then fine. If something goes wrong, my experience is that this company will not fix it. Certainly not in a pleasant way with a smile.

Just a small thing, the security chain/lock was broken and couldn’t be used in my apartment. Even though this feels like a safe area and house, I’d like to be able to ’lock’ my door from the inside...

Communication was excellent. There is a washer and dryer, the kitchen, It’s a perfect building. In a perfect location!
