Lovers of movement and city life will love this friendly and refined penthouse, situated in the heart of the city of Funchal.
Its interior space has been used at its best, in order to offer the comfort paired with a modern and careful decoration, that will meet your expectations. The apartment has a bedroom with double bed, bathroom with shower and an small equipped kitchen. From the small balcony you have a privileged view of downtown architecture and the Cathedral Tower.
The property is fully prepared to make you feel at home!
THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
Guests have easy access to several restaurants (there is a small cafe just outside the building), shops, shopping centre and supermarket.
This flat is situated very close to the famous Farmers’ Market (Mercado dos Lavradores), the historic centre of Funchal (locally known as ‘Zona Velha’) and the Cathedral. From here you can explore by foot many of the main tourist attractions of our beautiful town. (e.g. The Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc ...)
Barreirinha Beach is about twenty minutes' walk away, where you can relax and dip into the crystal clear waters of the island.
GETTING AROUND
Although a aerobus bus stop for airport arrivals and departures is within four minutes walk distance from the flat, we recommend the private transfer service as the best option to get there. Contact us in advance to schedule a private transfer car with our local partners. It is cheaper than taking a taxi by your own in the airport!

Guests have access to all areas of the flat.

We are always at your disposal to help or to answer your questions. You can contact us via our mobile numbers or by email. We will do our best to meet your requests.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (E.g. passport, identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. In case the check-in is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours prior arrival, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide a crib, a baby high chair and a baby bathtub if needed. First aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket are available in all properties.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Eva and Antonio’s home was convenient to everything in Funchal. It was the perfect location to explore the city. After a long day exploring, Rua Diretia had wonderful little restaurants to end the day with a drink, dinner, or snacks. MadCuba (right outside the door) and Funchal Taproom (just down the street) were my “homes away from home.” Eva and Antonio were responsive and provided clear instructions on accessing the building. The laundry room was especially helpful as I was on a three-week tour of Madeira and Porto Santo. I highly recommend this centrally located apartment,

Travaux bruyants dès 8h le matin, samedi inclus
Porte de douche qui ferme mal ce qui occasionne des fuites sur le sol qui s’abîme au fur et à mesure, dommage pour la salle de bain….
Cependant nos hôtes ne sont pas responsables des travaux et de la gêne occasionnée. De plus si on part toute la journée, ce n’est plus un problème.

Pesuhuoneessa homeongelma, josta aiheutui pahaa hajua. 12 yön yöpymisen aikana kerran vaihdettiin alussa lakanat, siivousvälineenä vain pieni rikkalapio. Etukäteen tilattua ja maksettua taksia nimikyltillä EI ollut kentällä vastassa. Keskiyöllä keskustan taksi ei löytänyt tätä majapaikkaa ja jouduin lopulta yöpymään toisessa hotellissa. 12 yön majoitusta maksaessa ei peritty 14 euron veroa ja se jäi epähuomiossa maksamatta. Tästä aiheutui, että tekstiviestillä aamulla välittäjä ilmoitti, että jo maksettu asuntoni on irtisanottu. Soittaessani An Island Apart -firmaan jouduin soittamaan uudelleen ja uudelleen kolmen eri henkilön kanssa, koska selvittivät asiaa. Lopulta menin käymään ja kaikki istuivat samassa huoneessa. Irtisanominen peruutettiin.

Enjoyed my stay here. The location was very convenient, and the apartment was well furnished with everything you need. My only slight criticism is that the large windows in the living area could perhaps do with an extra inside blind, as the Christmas lights in the street lit up the space at night quite a bit, but it didn’t affect my sleep. Would happily stay here again.

A cama e os produtos de banho são detalhes importantes que iremos rever. Em relação às formigas, é um problema que pode surgir ocasionalmente e já tomámos medidas para tratar a situação.
Pedimos desculpa se o apartamento não correspondeu exatamente às fotos do anúncio e verificaremos isso para evitar mal-entendidos no futuro. Agradecemos por trazer essas questões à nossa atenção.

Nice apartment in the center of Funchal. Good communication, clean, comfortable bed and faithful to the pictures. It is a bit noisier in the morning as it is close to a road, but we could sleep anyways. We would repeat. Thanks.

An example that google should have the option of -5 stars! We had booked this hotel for nine(!)days overnight. Their check in, is in a matter of time the latest check-in I have ever done in a hotel, which is 16.00. Our flight arrived at 8 o'clock in the morning and we were waiting for the time to pass, after making them a question if there is a possibility of earlier check-in or at least storage of luggage until that time. There was no possibility for either. So we stayed patiently until 16.00 o'clock in the streets waiting for the moment of Chek in. At 16.00 o'clock that we arrived at the hotel there were not even the keys In the place they should be and not even the room ready. In every attempt to be informed about when we will receive our room, their answer was “we do not know and this is the responsibility of the cleaning staff”, which arrived at the hotel after we did, approximately 4.10 and started cleaning other rooms. I had to call them five times because no one was calling back to inform me after 1 hour and a half had passed. When the cleaning stuff came and gave us the key, we went upstairs and the results are at the photos I attach. Floor never wiped, with bread crumbs and pigeon feathers, Coffee and liquid prints all over the kitchen, Bathroom full of hair and yellows stamps around the toilet, smelling extremely bad(!!!) (whose door is right on the head of the bed). The answer of the person in charge of our room, Joana, for this whole situation was that there is nothing she can do about it. She had that laugh throughout the whole time, like she couldn’t understand how serious the situation was. The night was not good, because as I mentioned before the toilet was next to the bed and all night was that smell at the atmosphere like public toilets, even with the door closed..

Great location, all main Funchal atractions within few minutes walking range. Apartment had big windows with great view - one minus was that 31 de Janeiro street is quite noisy but I guess that the price of leaving in the city centre.
Bathroom doesnt dry quick anough after taking shower so you can see that there is a bit of mold on the seilling and between the tiles.
Also if you rent a car its very difficult to find a parking around this place - the solution is to park it in the paid parking for 15 eur/day or leave it quite far from the flat.

We're sorry you didn't had a good experience with us. Booking a flat in the city centre also has consequences, such as noise. We suggest that next time you rent a property outside the city where silence prevails, or make sure that the property that you are booking has double glazing and that it isolates outside noise well. Regarding the dirt on the shutters, this was easily solved by our cleaning team.
We hope to provide you with a better experience and comfort in one of our properties next time.

Our stay was really good! We could not recommend this place enough.
The place was clean, equipped with cookware and a washer dryer downstairs with blackout curtains in the room which helped a lot for sleep!
The unit is in such a great location. Close to everything in Funchal, restaurants, car rentals, shops, garage parking & more! I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else in Madeira because we were about 40-60 mins away from everything on the island. Only downside to the unit is that there is no private parking so keep that in mind and keep some cash for underground garage parking about a 2-3 min walk away.
Beatrice and her team were very kind and helped us check in early which was a big help with our luggage. She was quick to respond to any question we had.
Overall, we would visit here again in Madeira for sure! Highly recommend.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt. Die Kommunikation verlief reibungslos und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es ist soweit alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Ein Besen und ein Kehrblech wären noch empfehlenswert, um Sand und Krümmel aufzukehren. Wie bereits in anderen Kommentaren, sind die Kacheln in der Dusche etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber trotzdem war alles sehr sauber. Die Location ist absolut top, alles fußläufig erreichbar und die kleine cubanische Bar neben dem Haus empfehlenswert :) Alles in allem würde ich die Unterkunft jederzeit weiterempfehlen!!! Danke !!! Wir kommen bestimmt noch mal wieder.

Nice location just a few blocks from the center of things, good quality towels, a sliding door and one window that open letting in lots of air. Wifi was excellent, front door locks (two of them) seem very secure. Nice kitchen table sitting/work area. Good supermarket is VERY close by (two blocks).
The bathroom smelled bad (musty/moldy) probs because there’s no window, and as soon as the door shuts it’s like a closet. The bathroom is less than 2 feet from the bed - so whomever is sleeping on that side will hear every little noise from bathroom. There’s no lock on bathroom door, and it really doesn’t even shut, the toilet runs constantly (so prepare for that bit of music), the kitchen has been furnished cheaply (discount day at Ikea knockoff store?) The balcony and window overlook the main road in town - so there’s a lot of noise at all times (except 3am - 5:30am). Bed is a full size? Feels cramped for two people - and only provided 2 very average pillows. (1 each)
Bonus hint: The kitchen stovetop is pretty much an iQ test for bad usability. It’s a Bosch tap style. A link to the PDF is included by the host (should have been a warning) however, but not in English. You can tap-on one of the two burners, and set the temperature however nothing will get warm. After several YouTube videos eventually figured it out:
You have to set a pot on the burner before it will allow you to turn it on!!!! Lol (many curse words would have been save with a simple explanation of that one in advance). Otherwise everything else functions - you can choose the burner, choose the temperature - it will just never get hot.

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja w centrum miasta. Pomimo okna od głównej ulicy, nie było głośno. Brak parkingu przy apartamencie i w sensownej cenie w okolicy, ale trochę dalej jest Santa Luzia za 4 euro za dobę. Czysto. Ekspres przelewowy do kawy, wszystko co potrzebne było, choć nie gotowaliśmy posiłków. Dobrze wytłumione mieszkanie, bo za ścianą była impreza a u nas nic nie było słychać. Dobrze działający internet. Dużo sztućców, talerzy, akcesoriów kuchennych. Ciepła woda w kranie, dobre ciśnienie wody, nie zatykający się odpływ. Wady: grzyb/pleśń w kabinie prysznicowej, między kafelkami, na fugach, suficie. Nie dało się wywietrzyć łazienki, woda skraplała się na spłuczce i wszędzie, po kąpieli zalana podłoga. Brak wieszaków na wysuszenie ręczników, łatwo mogły zatęchnąć. Brak haczyków/wieszaków przy drzwiach na kurtki, torebki itp. Brak dostępu do śmietnika, musieliśmy przetrzymać śmieci w lokalu. Ogólna ocena - gdyby nie łazienka poniżej standardów, reszta na plus.

Great location and an easy pick up point for tours. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Check in was great with clear instructions and building was very safe and secure. There is a great washer and dryer for communal use on the main floor which we took advantage of.

wenn man zentral übernachten möchte, eine gute wahl.
im prinzip ordentlich eingerichtet aber teilweise schon etwas abgerockt.

die fotos zeigen nur die obere etage des hauses (1 appartment) und versprechen damit mehr als die anderen 6 appartments halten können. diese sind nicht schlecht, aber klein und die aufbettung ist für menschen ab 18 jahre nicht zu empfehlen. bettwäsche war nicht sauber.

Hôtel bon dans l’ensemble cependant il est situé en bord de route et ce n’est pas très bien insonorisé. Il y avait des taches de je ne sais quoi sur le lit. Le canapé est placé devant le lit du coup vous ne voyez pas la télé il faut le déplacer. Cuvette des toilettes et sol de la douche pas très propre sinon mis à part ça c’est pas très cher et ça suffit quand même !

Al nostro arrivo la stanza non era pronta, ma i ragazzi delle pulizie sono arrivati in fretta e l'hanno preparata.
Durante il soggiorno erano sempre molto gentili e abbiamo anche usufruito di scope e moccio per pulire l'appartamento.
Per quanto riguarda la lavatrice e l'asciugatrice invece, sono in comune. Nella descrizione dell'appartamento vengono elencate come se fossero parte delle pertinenze dello stesso e questo è stato il motivo che mi aveva fatto scegliere questa struttura, per cui sarebbe opportuno specificare questo punto. Spesso i vestiti venivano "dimenticati" nell'asciugatrice, oppure lavatrice e asciugatrice venivano usate per un paio di shorts per tutto il giorno...
La ventola del bagno invece non funzionava, così come lo scarico del lavandino. Abbiamo sentito che anche altri appartamenti avevano avuto lo stesso problema. Ottima invece la posizione e l'organizzazione per le chiavi e i transfer.

Nice little flat, with a lot of equipments. The access to the washing machine is a nice plus. It was clean and there was a mid-stay cleaning. We managed to have an earlier access to the flat thanks to a easy contact with the staff. The location is perfect for Funchal, not far from the buses terminal and the shops.

Location was great, apartment was very clean upon arrival however there were not many supplies in respect to self cleaning the apt and also no sign of anybody coming to clean it for us. No fresh towel or bedding changes were available for the week we stayed.

Perfect check-in. Fast wifi. Perfect location: there are all bus stops near the house. Ocean is in few minutes of the house as well. All amenities (including wash and drying machines) were found in the room. Private bathroom and kitchen. Really like it. Definitely will recommend to stay here

Tout se trouve à proximité : supérettes, centre commercial, le port, le centre ville, la plage, pharmacies, ...
Parfaitement équipé : rangements, canapé convertible, machine à café, microonde, bouilloire, fer à repasser, sèche cheveux, immense douche (avec bon débit), climatisation, volets électriques, laverie gratuite avec sèche-linge et planche à repasser, coffre-fort, ascenseur, ...
Le bâtiment semble a priori accessible aux handicapés mais se renseigner sur les dimensions de l’ascenseur qui pourrait être un peu étroit.
Attention aux légers dormeurs car quelques nuisances sonores le matin puisqu’il n’y a pas de double vitrage et que l’appartement donne sur une avenue très fréquentée.
L’appartement, et l’île en général, est sure pour une personne voyageant seule, même pour les femmes.

Great location a few minutes' walk from the water, bus stops, cable car to Monte, cathedral, and many popular food destinations, which saves travelling from the hotel zone down the hill to Funchal's old town, etc. The apartment is small (one room and a bathroom) but perfect for a week's stay - good wifi, good shower, air con/heating, and a mini balcony too.

O apartamento é ótimo: excelente localização, moderno, bem equipado, máquina de lavar e secar roupas, staff simpático e atencioso. Considero, no entanto, que poderiam ser fornecidas amenidades de banho como sabonete e shampoo, o que facilitaria a vida do viajante. Guardanapos ou papel-toalha também seriam úteis. Recomendo.

It was a very nice apartment to stay in for a few days. Kitchen is very well equipped just like the bathroom. Check-in and check-out have been flexible and the location is superb. I can recommend 100%.

An extreme nice apartment in the center of Funchal. The whole apartment looks very new and modern. The communication an checkin were great. I can recommend it and would stay there again!
