Enjoy the best of the city in this beautiful, recently refurbished, located in the Funchal city centre.
This apartment is in the center of Funchal, 10-15 minutes walk from the traditional market and the marina. It has 2 spacious bedrooms with queensize bed. It has two bathrooms and a fantastic and ample outdoor space where you can enjoy the good weather and sunbathing or a meal with friends and family!
If you want to rent a car, the building has a garage where you can park.
The apartment is large and fully equipped with all amenities.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
We are right in the center of the city, which is the same as saying that there are points of interest everywhere. Funchal Cathedral is 10 minutes away and the Old Town area as well. Nearby you can find supermarkets, shops and bakeries.
In the center of Funchal there are restaurants for all tastes, terraces, museums, gardens and of course the city bay and promenade, ideal to end the day!
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It’s cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport!

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed. There is a first aid kit, fire extinguisher and blanket on all properties.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

A localização é um pouco problemática pois embora os supermercados, padarias, etc sejam relativamente perto ( 15 minutos a pé) o regresso é sempre a subir e com subidas íngremes pelo que não dá para vir a pé com compras. No apartamento não existiam nem toalhas de mesa nem individuais e também não tinha panos da loiça. Também não tinha o guarda sol do jardim. Contactei com eles mas não resolveram a situação pelo que tive de comprar uma toalha. Por outro lado embora no site diga que tem maquina da loiça, de facto não tem.

The beds were very comfortable (although the pillows were a bit lumpy). The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and there was a good supply of hot water in the mornings for two of us to shower. The TV proved a challenge to work but we finally worked out that it had Prime TV and Youtube. A brief explanation of the handsets would have been nice.
The property had everything you could need on holiday - washing machine, extra utility sink for washing off boots, drying rail, microwave, etc. It also had fans and heaters in the cupboards, which we didn't need. It was set away from the noise of the city and the traffic and we were almost unaware of other residents in the block, as they were so quiet. The barking dogs (which can, unfortunately, be found wherever you stay in Madeira, even near the best hotels) were just far enough away and did stop towards midnight.
The information from the owners both before and during the stay was excellent.
The only criticisms we had were the kitchen unit doors, which were well past their best, and the difficult key/lock on the front gate, but this did not affect our enjoyment of the property.

Hinweis, dass man das Wasser als Trinkwasser benutzen kann.
Alles etwas verwohnt (Schlafsofa roch etwas "benutzt"), es gab im Garten nur Kunstrasen mit Hinterlassenschaften von Katzen. Vielleicht ist das auch der Grund für die vielen Mücken. Draussen Sitzen war ohne Autan nicht sinnvoll.
Wohnung im Erdgeschoss, aber bodentiefe Fenster konnte man nicht klappen. Also offen für alle oder Fenster zu. Leider auch keine Insektengitter. Nur portable Klimaanlagen.
Schlüssel für Gartentor funktionierte manchmal nicht. War nicht schlimm, da Tiefgarage immer offen war und so jeder in das Treppenhaus konnte!!!
Fürchterlich das dauernde Hundegekläffe, das immerhin gegen Mitternacht verstummte. Okay, kann der Vermieter nichts für, stört trotzdem.
Zwei große und zwei kleine Handtücher für fünf Übernachtungen, nicht gerade üppig. Im zweiten Badezimmer kein Shampoo vorhanden.
Keine Infomappe über Funchal vorhanden.
Keine Restaurants und Supermärkte in der Nähe vorhanden.
Leider keinen der Verantwortlichen einmal persönlich gesehen. Alles per Mail und mit Schlüsselbox. Eigentlich kein Problem, wenn alles in Ordnung ist.
Gerade im Vergleich mit dem Appartement in der Vorwoche auf den Azoren, meine Wertung:

We will take into account the issues you mentioned and fix it as soon as possible.
As you can understand, we live in a semi-tropical island, which insects are part of it. Our properties are desinfected regurlaly but, if the windows and doors are open, this stays without any effect.
We offer self catering properties, this means our properties are equipped with all necessary to stay in. AC isn't advertised on the property mentioned but it has portable ones to make our guests confortable. It's given one set of towels for each guest and afterwards, you can wash and dry them in house. (We do have a extra service to have more towels with an extra fee).
You will always be welcome at our properties :)

O apartamento não estava nas condições esperada, não tem ar acondicionado, a máquina de lavar roupa não funcionava desde o primeiro dia, frigorífico não esfriava, entramos em contacto com os responsáveis mas a demora para resolver os problemas ultrapasso mais de 4 dias após a chegada, conclusão o apartamento precisa de uma remodelação, localização era única coisa boa nesta estadia.

De qualquer forma, temos muitas outras propriedades equipadas com ar condicionado ao qual teríamos todo o gosto em recebê-lo novamente e lhe proporcionar uma experiência mais agradável. :)

Único ponto que eu poderia sugerir uma pequena melhora é relativamente à limpeza. Existia muito pó no chão e principalmente nos tapetes. O sofá também já necessita de uma limpeza. E poderiam deixar produtos de limpeza para a cozinha e chão, visto que cozinhamos no apartamento e no fim é necessário limpar. E talvez mais panos e papel higiénico que não foi suficiente para o número de pessoas.

- A mesma simpatia com o check-in, ainda que com algum atraso, poderiam ter tido no check out.

The pictures do it justice, it is decorated nicely and to a very high standard throughout, and was immaculately clean.
Three of us stayed, but 5 or 6 would have been comfortable. Beds are large and comfortable, bath has jacuzzi jets(!), garden is a sun trap, kitchen has everything you would need, and there are plenty of communal areas to sit, chat, or play.
Car parking is tight, but convenient (would recommend hiring a car to see the island - we used WeRent)
The location is great - in a quiet residential area, a 15 minutes walk from the front (down a pretty steep hill, but then Funchal and madeira are made of hills), and 10 to supermarkets, shops, and cafes. Very close to the old town, cable cars, restaurants, etc. A great base.
