This one-bedroom apartment for two is a perfect escape from the buzz of the city below. It is decorated in a homely, contemporary style, right next to the market and is equipped with all modcons. It couldn't be easier to explore this lovely city.
This modern studio with large windows has one double bed, a bathroom with shower, a kitchenette and a living room with a double sofa bed. This apartment is fully equipped with all modcons including tv, microwave, free wifi and air conditioning.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
Guests have easy access to several restaurants (there's a small coffee on your doorstep), shops and grocery facilities in the area.
Within a 5 minutes walk you can reach the beautiful Market (Mercado dos Lavradores) filled with tropical plants, fruits and flowers, right next to the old town and the marina.
GETTING AROUND
To get from/to airport, there is a aerobus stop within 3 minutes walking distance from the house or you can ask us to arrange a taxi transfer with our local and trustworthy partners. Cheaper than the airport taxis!

We are always available for any concern you may have. Feel free to contact us through our local numbers or email. We will try our best to accommodate your needs! All informations on the info board at the entrance of the property.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All necessary linens and towels are provided. A cot, high chair and baby's tub can be arranged if necessary. We have a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and an anti-fire blanket on all properties.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. Gute Lage! Die Wohnung aber leider sehr schmutzig. Sofa und Kissen fleckig, Boden und Oberflächen staubig. Erstaunlich war dass das Waschbecken nicht über ein Siphon mir der Fallleitung verbunden ist sondern über ein einfaches Flex-Rohr ohne Geruchsverschluss. Entsprechend roch es in der Wohnung nach Fäkalien…

There was a water leak which flooded the floor overnight and shorted all the electricity. I tried to call their emergency number but no one answered. There was load construction from 0830h only a few metered away from my window / I was not informed about this in advance. Some of the fabrics (couch, blinds etc ) were stained. There was another persons pubic hair which in the shower, which was a bit grotty

They gave us the first floor apartment, a window was loose (though it was fixed right upon reporting it to the staff) but the house is situated on a restaurant street and had a restaurant just down below. The noise at night was horrific of people and tables and chairs dragged around. There was also since 8am construction right next to the house building, so sleeping was definitely an issue as noise insulation was terrible.

La situation géographique au centre ville. L'appartement est bien équipé.
Le contact avec le gestionnaire est exclusivement via SMS ou internet. Il a réagi rapidement pour nous changer la cafetière défectueuse en début de séjour..
La climatisation est trop bruyante et nous a empêché de bien dormir. Il serait utile de la changer et la rendre plus silencieuse. Comme il faisait très chaud, nous étions contraint de la faire fonctionner malgré le bruit.
L'armoire dispose de trop peu d'étagères ce qui complique le rangement des vêtements.
Nous avons réservé un transport (retour aeroport) via le gestionnaire de l'appartement puisqu'il propose ce service. Le transport est arrivé avec 20 minutes de retard ce qui nous a stressé car nous avions un avion à prendre..

Lo único que podemos destacar de manera favorable es la ubicación del apartamento.
Cuando entramos en el piso olía muchísimo a humedad, además se supone que habían limpiado y no daba esa sensación, incluso nos encontramos cucarachas pequeñas en varias ocasiones.
El baño muy pequeño, el lavabo casi no podías lavarte los dientes sin tirar agua fuera y la estantería de la ducha completamente oxidada.
El sofá cama ok, pero el colchón de la cama deformado, tuvimos que dormir al revés.
No se corresponden las fotos con la realidad.
Cuando entramos en el piso olía muchísimo a humedad, además se supone que habían limpiado y no daba esa sensación, incluso nos encontramos cucarachas pequeñas en varias ocasiones.
El baño muy pequeño, el lavabo casi no podías lavarte los dientes sin tirar agua fuera y la estantería de la ducha completamente oxidada.
El sofá cama ok, pero el colchón de la cama deformado, tuvimos que dormir al revés.
No se corresponden las fotos con la realidad.

La posizione della struttura è ottima, peccato per il parcheggio che è un vero disagio.
Pulizia scadente, parcheggi inesistenti nelle vicinanze, presenza di animali quali blatte all’interno dell’appartamento, è stato fatto presente alla struttura il quale se ne è fregato dicendomi che gli animali stando su un’isola tropicale fanno parte dell’ecosistema, io non credo che le blatte🪳 fanno parte dell’ecosistema ma bensi indice si poca pulizia.

Descrizione: nonostante l’ottima posizione, la casa sicuramente non è pensata per accogliere tre persone.
La cucina è ricavata in una parte minuscola e parecchio scomoda, con una piastra e due fornelli sopra insufficienti per cucinare in tre o per muoversi agevolmente mentre si prepara qualcosa. Il frigo è davvero minuscolo e funziona male: inizialmente, essendo impostato ad una temperatura più alta, non raffrescava nulla; una volta impostato su una modalità di raffreddamento più alta, ha congelato parecchie delle nostre cose da mangiare, costringendoci a buttarle. Il divano al nostro arrivo era sporco, con macchie e polvere sopra (foto in allegato): una di noi ha dovuto per forza dormirci e non è stato confortevole. In ultimo, la cosa più grave, c’erano scarafaggi all’interno della casa, precisamente nello sgabuzzino a destra della porta d’ingresso, sopra il frigorifero e nel bagno, ma purtroppo non siamo riuscite a fare foto muovendosi questi velocemente.

The shower needs to be repaired. When you shower the water keeps leaking on the floor. Which you will need many towels or a mop. Small things that would make the stay much better! :)

Ładny apartament blisko centrum. Mieliśmy wszystko, czego potrzebowaliśmy, bardzo przytulne i czyste miejsce :) Chętnie będę polecać.

Lokalizacja w samym centrum. Wszędzie blisko. W kuchni wszystko co potrzebne, czajnik, mikrofala, kuchenka elektryczna, zestaw do parzenia kawy . Ogólnie dość dużo przestrzeni i mieszkanko całkiem sympatyczne do życia.

Apartamento bem localizado. Sem estacionamento. Quem aluga carro e muito complicado estacionar mesmo em lugares pagos . O estacionamento privado é caro perto . Tem de se estacionar num pRque mais longe para precos mais razoaveis . Apartamento sem forno e o fogao e muito pequeno e demora muito a cozinhar. A cama e super confortável.

Al nostro arrivo ci hanno omaggiato di una shopper di tela , molto utile per la spesa o comunque per girare , cucina ben attrezzata con olio sale aceto ( non è scontato trovarli ) . We chose this accommodation because of its central location and it really lived up to our expectations. The location has a nice atmosphere and everything is around the corner.
The qualities of the room itself are not great at all. Generally the place is worn out, with black mould in the bathroom - in the corners, between the tiles and around the window. There was a clump of dust next to the bed, and the bathroom had traces of liquids (soap? shampoo?) on the mirror shelf, floor, and shower.
The air conditioning was not usable at all - after we turned it on to pre-cool the room (it was extremely hot that day), the whole room smelled and we had to open the windows and change the air for an hour to get rid of the smell. On a day with temperatures over 38 C it was not very pleasant.
To sum it up - it was so-so acceptable for the two days we planned to stay, basically an overnight stay between day trips.

Logement agréable et fonctionnel pour un couple ou deux personnes, situé dans un quartier à proximité des commerces, du centre ville de Funchal, du port et des arrêts de bus, taxis... Malgré les restaurants dans la rue, calme et tranquillité. Serviettes et draps à disposition. Petit frigo pour 2 personnes. Café et filtres à disposition, ainsi que sopalin et papier toilette, gel douche, pour le premier jour. Seul bémol les petites fourmies gourmandes dans le logement, et les placards, ce qui est fréquent sur les îles, donc bien emballer sa nourriture 😉

La posizione è ottima per girare la città e l’isola. È molto vicino alle zone più frequentate di Funchal, ma nonostante questo non si sentono particolari rumori dopo le 23.
L’appartamento in sè ottimo per due persone, noi ci siamo stati per una settimana! Ci ritornerei 😉
Purtroppo il piatto della doccia perdeva, quindi sotto il lavandino dopo aver fatto la doccia c’era dell’acqua

I had a really nice time here! The apartment was lovely but I wish I would've gotten a flat on the 3rd floor as the one on the 1st floor wasn't as nice and was quite dark and noisy in the evenings. The location is perfect and the facilities were also great.

The apartment was nice and clean. The location is brilliant! Restaurants and a shopping centre with a supermarket is very close. The public beach and bus station is also close.
I ended with with an apartment on the 1st floor so didn't have such a nice view as on the photos and it was rather dark. Also the flat is right above a bar/restaurant so quite noisy in the evening.

locatie was perfect
kamer was smerig, met name de badkamer was heel vies, veel schimmel. Hierdoor zeer onaangename penetrante lucht in de kamer. Hiervan zelf lichamelijke klachten zoals hoofdpijn en hoest. Medewerkers adviseerden bagageopslag voor onze laatste dag bleek dicht in weekend terwijl dat in de vraag stond. Daarna niet meer bereikbaar, dus ook zeer slecht bereikbaar.

Had an issue with them TV. They had their team on it in an hour and we were able to watch the World Cup highlights at night the rest of our stay ⚽️😎

Hallo, wir waren im August 2022 auf Madeira in der Unterkunft der An Island Apart. Ich verfasse eine umfassende/ ausführliche Bewertung um zukünftige Tourist:innen zu informieren und Preis/Leistung Verhältnis transparent zu kommunizieren.
Als erstes möchte ich auf die positive Aspekte der Unterkunft eingehen.
PZum einen ist die Lage wie bereits beschrieben sehr zentral. Sie können tatsächlich an vielen touristischen Veranstaltungen von Funchal aus teilnehmen. Die Lage der Wohnung ermöglicht ihnen schnell die Haltestellen zu erreichen an denen sie sowohl mit öffentlichen Transportmitteln als auch mit privaten verreisen können. Die Wohnung ist ausgestattet mit nötigen Mobiliar. Dieses ist zwar sauber aber gleichzeitig auch ziemlich veraltet und nicht zeitgemäß. Jedenfalls entsprechen die positiven Bewertungen der Nutzer:innen nicht der Realität. Das Personal ist freundlich und was sehr wichtig ist auch gut erreichbar.
Nun kommen wir zu den negativen Aspekten. Der Putz im Bad löst sich von der Decke, das Bad und die Duschkabine sind unglaublich klein und nicht wasserdicht. Das heißt, dass nach dem duschen Wasser im ganzen Bad steht.
Es gibt keine Parkplätze in direkter Nähe.
Wir waren 10 Nächte da und in diesem Zeitraum wurde das Apartment einmal geputzt. Soweit so gut, es geschah leider unangekündigt. Wir waren sehr überrascht als beim Betreten des Apartments wir feststellen mussten, dass alles ordentlich gemacht wurde. Sie wissen sicher wie ihre Wohnung aussieht wenn sie mit keinem Besuch rechnen.
Im Großen und Ganzen haben wir, basierend auf den Bewertungen die hier zu finden sind, etwas anderes erwartet. Ich hoffe, dass meine Bewertung Ihnen etwas Realität näher bringt. Wir haben in der Hauptsaison gebucht und für 10 Nächte über 900 € bezahlt. Das ist ein stolzer Preis der leider nicht dem Preis/ Leistung Verhältnis entspricht.

dans le centre ville, literie excellente, ménage à mi- séjour super appréciable, présence de condiments et de café à l’arrivée dans l’appartement. Bonne communication avec les responsables.
Globalement on se sent en sécurité dans l’appartement grâce à la porte d’entrée blindée.
pas de frigo (mais un mini-bar) insuffisant pour 2 semaines et 3 personnes, table et chaises à améliorer, fortes odeurs de remontée d’égout dans la salle de bain, quelques clochards dans la rue le soir et pas mal de bruit avec les bars juste en dessous.

Abnormálně hlučný malý byt nad restaurací , kde se kouří. Vše šlo přes okna do bytu. Pokoj malý pro tři lidi. Určitě takové ubytování již nikdy. Ubytování mělo být od 16hod. Hostitelka nás ubytovala až v 18,45hod .

Sehr schönes schnuckeliges Appartement, habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt, drunter ein Kubanisches Restaurant, stört nicht, macht um 22.00 Uhr zu, und auch keine Gäste mehr. Überall Cafés, nette kleine Restaurants. Schöner Ausgangspunkt für ein Städte/ Inseltrip . Auch Bushaltestelle vom Flughafen in der Nähe.
Die Toilette sehr klein, da wäre besser eine Schiebetür angebracht , sonst alles perfekt!

A localização era excelente pelo facto de estarmos no centro do Funchal. No entanto, por esse motivo havia sempre algum barulho á noite. O quarto estava limpo.
O apartamento era muito pequeno face ás fotografias, casa de banho e zona de duche muito pequenas, não tinha AC, apenas um ventilador e quando se desligado, o calor era insuportável.

Internet lenta e com falhas.
Em nenhum lugar menciona que no rês do chão existe um bar aberto que gera ruído desde a abertura a hora de almoço até ao fechar com arrastar de mesas e cadeiras e todo o serviço de esplanada.
O colchão claramente já teve melhores dias e pede a reforma.

Posizione PERFETTA, appartamento davvero carino. Può essere rumoroso perché un lato dell'appartamento é vicino a un arteria principale (non direttamente esposto).
Dico solo che sarei tornato nella stessa struttura se fosse stata disponibile!
Pulizia, lenzuola, elettrodomestici ecc tutto più che bene.
+ Ristorante / bar cubano sotto casa OTTIMO
Manca giusto una lavatrice perché sia perfetto, a Madeira é raro trovare lavanderie automatiche.
Dico solo che sarei tornato nella stessa struttura se fosse stata disponibile!

Very nice place in the city. Everything is very easy to access. The apartment is fine but the noise/music from the bar below can be annoying. The good news is that it stops at 22:00 o'clock so will have good night rest. The host is very friendly and helps where she can. If you can live with the noise I can recommend the place fully.

Por mais que queira falar bem da minha estadia neste alojamento local, so tenho aspectos negativos a escrever aqui, Comecemos por na situação que estamos actual do covid este espaco de alojamento local com selo SAFE&CLEAN não tinha nenhum produto de desinfecção, gel, entre outros, obrigado-nos a comprar depois do valor que paguei em que incluia tais coisas.
Afirmo aqui também que na descrição deste espaco afirmam que tem tais produtos estao incluidos, que fazem mudanca de lencois, limpesa e nada disso foi realizado na minha estadia de 14 noites em que minha exposa depois de insistir várias vezes tais servicos foi-nos fornecido desde os pordutos de limpeza, lencois, aspirador, vasorra entre outro para ela propria o fazer devido a afirmação: que tais servicos nao iam realizar com a desculpa do covid mas nos outros quartos tirando o nosso fizeram a limpesa. Tinha um so deposito de lixo para 3 andares em que na minha estadia nem uma vez foi retirado ficando cheiro intragavel e ninguem fez nada perante isso. Eu espero que resolvam esta situação o mais rápido possível tendo em conta que tal situação vai ser reportada a direção de turismo da madeira.

Ce logement est conforme à la description. Très bien situé dans la vieille ville, il se trouve à 5 min à pied du marché. La literie est très confortable et l'appartement est parfaitement propre. C'est un peu bruyant. Nous avons passez un très bon séjour à Madère dans cet appartement !

Zona buena, pero no esta calle, indigentes duermen junto al portal y frecuentes discusiones te despiertan. Cubos de basura comunitarios dentro del edificio dan mal olor en la escalera. Zona de Wc tan pequeña que tienes que entrar de perfil porque la puerta abre sólo 1/3. Aire acondicionado es un portátil muy ruidoso si lo necesitas de noche. La limpieza no es muy buena.

For the price you absolutely can't complain and the decor was lovely. However, the shower smelt awful and there appeared to be a hole in the floor that was covered by a rug. This really didn't effect much though and the location was amazing. I'd reccomend this for short stays where location in Funchal is important.

Although this was an ideal central position with easy access to bars restaurants shops and transport, it was very noisy. Because the air con was quite noisy and right next to the bed we had to leave it off and open windows. Unfortunately this meant the noises of the bars, drunks and refuse trucks echoed in the high sided, narrow street till 2 or 3 am most nights also on the wet nights the rough sleepers congregated under the covered archway nearby. The accommodation was fine for 2 people but 4 would be a tight squeeze.

Our Airbnb in Funchal was perfect for our trip! Francisco greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around the apartment and gave us great dinner suggestions and directions to the nearest public transportation. We were a bit late in arriving, as we missed the airport shuttle bus by a few minutes. It was no problem and Francisco very kindly waited for us until we arrived. The apartment was clean and in a great location. The bed was super comfy and the WiFi was fast! Overall, a great experience. Thank you!!!!

A tiny apartment but well equipped and comfortable. Remarkable location near the centre of Funchal but very quiet. Idea for a short stay, though it might get a bit claustrophobic over a longer one - visitors like to have somewhere to sit out in the sun! For our brief visit to the Flower Festival it was perfect and Andre was very helpful when our return flight was cancelled, although easyJet in the end put us into a hotel.

Sehr schön dekorierte Wohnung in der Altstadt von Funchal. An Innenausstattung fehlt nichts und die Lage ist perfekt-sehr zentral. Jedoch ist die Wohnung ein wenig feucht und auf Grund der Lage ziemlich Laut/Hell.

Ce studio est très bien situé dans le centre, proche de plusieurs lieux touristiques et des principales lignes de bus y compris pour l'aéroport. Il est tout à fait conforme au descriptif. Malgré sa petite surface (mais suffisante, en sachant que nous étions 3), il est très bien équipé. Il est propre et la décoration est soignée. La literie est très bonne. Un bar à proximité est un peu animé le soir (discussions en terrasse), mais il ferme relativement tôt et ensuite la rue est très calme. Un très bon choix pour découvrir facilement la ville de Funchal.

This place is in an ideal location, so close to bars, restaurants, markets, the marina and so much more. We could walk everywhere easily and had a cosy comfortable place to come back to and rest our feet. Even though this is so central though, it's still quiet and peaceful in the evenings. Would definitely recommend and would love to visit again!

An amazing place to stay! If you're looking for a nice and affordable place in Funchal look no further. There is not one single thing I can complain about, the apartment was clean, very stylish and comfortable. Everything you can possible need is within a 5 minute walk from the location (Marina, Old Town, Centre of Funchal, Grocery Store, Gift Shops). Highly highly recommend!

My little daughter and I passed 8 wonderful days in this apartment in February, 2017. Everything was very clean, new and nice. All the people we met were friendly and helpful. It was easy to contact to the staff if needed. The internet was perfect.
