O edifício tem uma entrada comum a todas as propriedades e está localizado na Rua da Carreira, uma das artérias principais do Funchal. A partir desta propriedade, poderá conhecer e visitar a pé os principais pontos de interesse da capital da Ilha da Madeira. Está próximo de restaurantes, centros comerciais, bares, museus, da Sé Catedral do Funchal, Jardim Municipal do Funchal, Marina do Funchal e Teatro Municipal.
No centro da cidade há muita informação sobre todo o tipo de atividades que pode fazer durante as suas férias: atividades culturais, atividades radicais, atividades ligadas à natureza… seja qual for o objetivo da visita à Ilha da Madeira!

A melhor opção para chegar ao apartamento será o transfer. Peça-nos para marcar um com os nossos parceiros locais. É mais barato do que os táxis que encontra no aeroporto. Se alugar carro, qualquer aplicação de navegação encontra facilmente a morada.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft. Die Lage ist perfekt, mitten in der Stadt - es gibt viele Restaurants und Cafes in der Nähe. Supermärkte und Bushaltestellen sind auch direkt um die Ecke. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und modern ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber verlief einbandfrei, bei benötigter Hilfe kam sofort jemand vorbei.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können die Wohnung weiterempfehlen :)

We had a delightful stay at this place. The space was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained, with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. All excellent amenities including cooker & washing machine with our hosts being very responsive to anything we needed.

Bed was VERY comfortable which made a ton of difference & we even had a linen and towel refresh and extra cleaning mid our stay which was lovely!

The location was absolutely perfect—right in the heart of everything, yet so peaceful and quiet that we could truly relax. It was the ideal balance of convenience and tranquility. Highly recommend An Island Apart and look forward to staying here again. Fingers crossed prices remain reasonable until then.

Dies war nun nach 2024 unser zweiter Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft. Man muss dazu sagen, dass wir beim ersten Mal sehr gute Erfahrungen mit diesem gewerblichen Gastgeber gemacht haben und dieses Mal war es eine komplette Katastrophe. Es gibt mehrere Punkte:
1. Es weden willkürlich Bilder von allen möglichen Zimmern für das Inserat eingestellt. Somit weiß man eigentlich nicht, welches Zimmer man überhaupt erhält/ wie es aussehen wird. Da gibt es erhebliche Unterschiede.
2. Man muss zwei Plattformen bedienen, auf beiden Plattformen Angaben tätigen (auf airbnb.de und auf der eigenen Plattform des gewerblichen Gastgebers). Hinzu kommt, dass die Angaben (Check-in und gezahlte Beträge, die teilweise noch extra auf der eigenen extra Seite vom Gastgwber gezahlt werden müssen, wenn man früher einchecken möchte, nicht vollständig und nicht korrekt angezeigt werde.
3. Der Gastgeber antwortet leider nur mit erheblicher Verzögerung, Informationen werden sehr spät/ kurzfristig zur Verfügung gestellt.

1. Bezüglich der Bilder der verschiedenen Zimmer, werden wir uns bemühen, in Zukunft klarer zu kommunizieren, welches Zimmer unseren Gästen zugewiesen wird.
2. Die Nutzung von zwei Plattformen ist in der Tat nicht ideal und wir verstehen Ihre Frustration. Wir arbeiten daran, diesen Prozess zu vereinfachen und transparenter zu gestalten.
3. Es ist uns wichtig, dass unsere Gäste sich gut betreut fühlen. Ihre Anmerkung bezüglich der Verzögerung bei der Kommunikation nehmen wir sehr ernst und werden daran arbeiten, unsere Reaktionszeiten zu verbessern.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit!!
Wir würden wieder kommen. Wir sind mit Baby angereist und haben vor Ort ein Babybett und einen Hochstuhl vorgefunden - super!
Alles war super, genau wie beschrieben und schön eingerichtet.
Die Lage ist super zentral und fußläufig zu allem was Funchal zu bieten hat.
Nur Parkplätze waren schwieriger zu finden und kosten extra. Wir haben einen öffentlichen Parkplatz etwas die Straße weiter hoch rechts genommen. Das war günstiger als die Einkaufszentren.

Very clean, good location, very quiet. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were very good. Great coffee provided.

Some net curtains would give more privacy as there are windows a few metres opposite our windows, so we kept the shutters half closed during our stay.

Logement très bien placé et organisation excellente. Tout était clair et facile à l’arrivée. Le fait d’avoir un système de code pour la porte d’entrée plutôt que des clés était très pratique.
Le logement ne manquait d’aucun équipement et ressemblait bien au photos.
Seul petit hic, parfois de légères odeurs d’humidité dû au fait que l’aération dans la salle de bain ne soit pas optimale mais autrement très bien. Merci!

L’appartement est propre & bien équipé : cuisine complète avec lavante séchante & lessive à disposition, climatisation/chauffage, télévision.
Quelques points néanmoins qui pourraient être améliorés : - ajouter un balai & une pelle à disposition dans l’appartement plutôt que dans le local poubelles en bas.
- Laisser à disposition des prises anti-moustiques. On s’est fait dévorer par des moustiques tigres lors de nos vacances uniquement dans l’appartement ! Même fenêtres fermées il y en avait toujours dans l’appartement.
L’hôte répond & réagit très vite. Nous avions des fourmis le premier jour où nous sommes arrivés, nous lui avons envoyé un message. Le temps que l’on sorte manger & qu’on revienne il était passé & avait fait le nécessaire !

L’appartement est bien situé à Funchal, proche du port et de tous les commerces. On a pu se balader à pied de nombreuses fois.
J’ai adoré, c’est ici que je reviendrai pour mon prochain voyage à Madère.

Sehr moderne Unterkunft. Alleine der „persönliche online Gästebereich“ beeindruckend (neben Infos zum Checkin etc, waren Restauranttipps vorhanden und sogar die PDFs der Betriebsanleitungen für die Geräte in der Küche). Die Wohnung war sehr modern ausgestattet. Man hat jedoch gesehen, dass die Einrichtung „schnell“ abgewickelt wurde. Einige Möbel/Schränke waren schief :D Nichtsdestotrotz rundum happy mit der Unterkunft (auch die Küche super ausgestattet!). Ein Handtuchwechsel wäre jedoch nochmal schön gewesen.
Insgesamt: sehr empfehlenswert!

Heel mooi appartement in prachtig historisch gebouw. Het was er heel proper, en tijdens ons verblijf is er nog gekuist, wat een leuke verrassing was. Perfect gelegen in het centrum van Funchal, dicht in de buurt bij restaurants en historische centrum. Een afwasmachine en terrasje hadden er 6 sterren van gemaakt!

Ho alloggiato una settimana in questo monolocale con il mio ragazzo. La posizione è ottima, il check-in molto veloce. La struttura nel complesso è molto bella. Lo spazio del monolocale è gestito in maniera ottima, c'era tutto l'occorrente. La mia referente Beatrice è stata super disponibile e reattiva e ha risposto a qualsiasi mia domanda o dubbio. L'unica pecca è stata non poter godere delle meravigliose finestre in bagno e camera da aletto poiché costretti a tenerle costantemente chiuse con tende di legno per questioni di privacy,perché davanti c'erano altre finestre a pochi metri. Mi sarebbe piaciuto che ci fossero state delle tene oscuranti di tessuto. Per il resto tutto perfetto, letto comodissimo, tutto funzionante. Abbiamo trovato la lavatrice veramente utile con il detersivo in polvere già a disposizione e la possibilità di stendere i panni sullo stendino. Grazie di tutto.

I was very excited for my stay, but it unfortunately did not live up to my expectations.

We stayed here for 2 weeks, but for most of the trip we had to shower with cold water. The warm water would only work for four minutes, and even after contacting the help center who would respond way later (which yeah, we understood, because the response time takes around an hour) nothing had changed.

The place was dusty when we got there, and there was a decent amount of mold in the bathroom.

Two out of three pans in the kitchen were extremely scratched, most of the dishes had stains or food rests on them.

I knew the cleaning crew only comes once a week. However, I didn't know at what time, so I decided to book a jeep safari and stay out all day to give them the time to clean. We were out from 8am to 5pm, and when we got back to the apartment it hadn't been cleaned.
They came in at 5.15pm to clean (cleaning time is from 10am-6pm) and hadn't refilled certain things and gave us stained sheets.

Poloha, selfcheck in/out, vybavená kuchyně
Zápach z koupelny, který lze nějak přežít potom co jsme použili vůni.
Ubytování nemá parkoviste. Nejbližší je pak kousek, ale dost drahé v obchodním centru, které je jeste v nedeli zavřené, takze jsme byly celý den bez auta. Zóny na parkovani jsou vecne plne, nebo jen na hodinu.

Tolle Wohnung! Flexible Check-in. Sehr gute Kommunikation. Viele Infos sind vorhanden. Die Wohnung ist für 2 Personen ideal. Sehr hell, modern und gemütlich, sehr zentral und ruhig. Am besten hat uns die Lage gefallen. Bushaltestellen in der Nähe (nach Lido, zum Botanischen Garten), Marina um die Ecke, um z.B. Boots-Toure zu machen. In der Nähe in ein großes Einkaufszentrum mit Pingo Doce Supermarket, unzählige Bäcker, Parks, Wine-Tasting, Touristen-info, Sehenswürdigkeiten u.s.v.

Great apartment and couldn't ask for a better location. It was quiet and clean.
There is an underground and cheap car park 10 minutes away by called Parking Santa Luzia, that will avoid you the more expensive on-street parking.
If you are looking for the iron, it's on the 3rd floor in a staff room next to the elevator;)
If I had to write something, the only thing would be the passcode entry and no key, but maybe I'm just traditional:)
So make sure you don't forget the code

Great accommodation which is located close to the center with great restaurants, bakeries, busses and stores nearby. It’s a really clean and cute apartment and you don’t even notice that there are other residents in the building. Lastly, the hosts are very proactive, all information is listed and organized before, during and after your stay. Only downside would be that there is no balcony or outside place to sit and towels are only replaced every 6 days.

Sehr ruhig trotz zentraler Lage, moderne und saubere Räume. Gute Erreichbarkeit der Vermieter.
Bequeme Betten und geräumiges Bad.
Gut ausgestattete und moderne Küche mit eigener Waschmaschine.

Unser Feedback und Verbesserungsvorschläge wurden vom Vermieter freundlich entgegengenommen.
Defekter/wackeliger Toilettendeckel und stark verschimmelter Duschvorhang. Der Wäsche/Bügelraum ist schlecht auffindbar und Handtücher gibt es nur ein Mal ohne Aufpreis, selbst in diesem Preisbereich.

Absoluter Tipp! Preis-Leistung Verhältnis stimmt. Viele Attraktionen sind zu Fuß zu erreichen, sowie Lebensmittelläden und Restaurants/Bars. Das Appartement bietet eine sehr gute Ausstattung, man fühlt sich dort sehr wohl. Auch die Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer des Appartements waren stets sehr positiv. Wir haben zum ersten Mal ein Airbnb gebucht und waren durch und durch begeistert von unserer ersten Erfahrungen.

Wow! Hier stimmt einfach alles. Das Appartement sieht wirklich so aus wie auf den Bildern. Ja, auch wir waren skeptisch. Die Lage ist perfekt, direkt an den Bars und Restaurants und den Supermärkten. Aber auch nur wenige Meter vom Hafen, und den ganzen Wasser Attraktionen entfernt. Jedoch ist der Strand sehr sehr weit weg. Also wer an den Strand möchte, ist auf der falschen Seite der Insel. Dafür ist das Appartement so zentral, dass alle Touren, welche man buchen kann, dort starten, oder man sehr bequem von abgeholt werden kann. Außerdem ist die berühmte Gondel, welche zum Botanischen Garten und den Korbschlitten führt, nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt, vom Appartement. Bei der Einrichtung wurde an alles gedacht. Tipp: wer den Fön sucht, der ist in der Schublade unter dem Waschbecken. Und das Besteck unter dem Backofen, in einer Schublade. Da wir 9 Tage das Appartement gebucht hatten, gab es eine Zwischenreinigung, welche rechtzeitig angekündigt wurde. Bei der Zwischenreinigung wurde die Bettwäsche und die Handtücher gewechselt, sowie die Toilette und die Dusche gereinigt. Der Check-In lief auch reibungslos ab. Wir haben im Vorfeld, per SMS, einen Zugangscode für die Eingangstür und die Appartementstür bekommen. Somit läuft der Check-in kontaktlos ab. Dies sehe ich als Vorteil, für Menschen, welche introvertiert sind, oder meinen nicht gut Englisch sprechen zu können. Trotzdem möchte ich betonen, dass der Besitzer jeder Zeit erreichbar ist, und sich um jedes Anliegen/ jede Frage sofort gekümmert hat. Im Appartement steht auch ein Schild, mit QR Codes für das WLAN, seinen Business Kontakt auf WhatsApp und Freizeitaktivitäten. Also wir können dieses Appartement wirklich weiter empfehlen!

Die Wohnung hat eine großartige Lage in Funchal, von der aus zu Fuß alles gut erreichbar ist. Trotz der zentralen Lage ist die Wohnung jedoch ruhig, da sie zum Hinterhof ausgerichtet ist. Easy communication with the host, clean apartment. They have all neccesary kitchen facilities. Comfortable bed. Location is right in the city center. Also, host helped us with our luggage after check out because we had a late flight, so huge thanks for that.
Apartment does not have dryer for laundries or towels. Washing machine has drying option but it takes time and it is not always comfortable to dry things that way.

Really lovely apartment in an amazing location in Funchal! Close walking distance to lots of restaurants, the marina etc. The whole building and apartment itself was stylishly decorated, and the lighting and plants were really nice thoughtful touches. The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen and a big TV, and was a perfect base to come back to after days of activities. Would love to come back to Madeira and would definitely look to stay in this apartment again. Have already recommended to friends!

A newly-renovated and well located and furnished apartment in the centre of Funchal old town.

Feels more like a hotel than an airbnb, unfortunately I was locked out a few times due to the digital lock not working. I also didn’t enjoy the constant upselling via e-mail and text.

The apartment itself is good but the management of it leaves a lot to be desired.

O apartamento é moderno, completo, funcional e com uma localização ideal para visitar Funchal à pé. Entrada autonoma, tivemos um pequeno problema com a fechadura mas foi prontamente resolvido pelo Sr. Décio que ficou em contato comigo por telefone. Boa ducha, cozinha completa, cama extremamente confortavel, enfim, tudo de bom! Recomendo!

The location of the airbnb is excellent as it is in one of the most central streets in Funchal, with many restaurants and shops around. Very close to the mall too. The building and the room seem recently renovated and are very beautiful decorated and cleaned. The room has everything you will need for your stay and more, kitchen, fridge, etc. Minor things that i would suggesting to improve to make the airbnb excellent : a) There was hanging lamp in the bedroom, exactly in the passway to the bathroom. While it was artistic, the lamp is on a very low height and i found myself hitting on it many times when i was distracted. I consider this a hazard and should be taken into consideration. b) Regarding the check-in. The instructions sent one day before contained nothing more than two codes and the floor (no further text explanations for the check-in - and one of the messages contained only the one code). I thought it would be easy, so i went ahead to enter the building. However i realised that there are many apartments in the floor and nowhere in the instructions had which apartment i was in. After searching for a while, i accidentally bumped into one of the An Island's employees that told me the apartment number. Have i not bumped into him i would have trouble checkin in as there was a communication delay issue also (one of my next points) c) Opening the door by putting the code and turning a knob requires a bit careness (the employee also pointed this out). One of the days, the knob was left hanging on my hand and i had to put it back in. d) I got a message for completing a check-out wizard on An Island's app (outside of airbnb). The checkout times were wrong (it wrote check out at 12, 1, 2 "am" not "pm"). So i asked the host the previous night at 9 pm to confirm the error and i asked if possible to have a late check-out at 2:30 pm. I sent this to both airbnb messages and the chat number. I didn't receive an answer, and the next day a cleaner came knocking at about 11 pm telling me that they didn't expect me there as my check-out was for midday. I finally received an answer at 2 pm way after left the apartment. It seems that there is a minor lack of coordination between the systems of airbnb, the duve system of An island and the people behind the systems. Nevertheless, i consider all these minor issues that can be improved as i had an overall very positive opinion about this airbnb.
