A ilha da Madeira é um das ilhas mais apetecíveis do Mundo, graças ao bom clima, às paisagens arrebatadoras, à natureza verdejante e ao fantástico nível de vida que se usufrui neste pequeno arquipélago. Toda esta beleza e grandeza serviu de inspiração para a sublime decoração deste fantástico apartamento, onde a vista infindável para o atlântico completa o cenário.
Os pormenores e a qualidade está presente em todas as divisões do apartamento, desde o mobiliário às peças decorativas que completam esta propriedade, que foi recentemente decorada por um arquitecto premiado a nível internacional.
O interior da casa é composto por três quartos de dormir, dois quartos com cama de casal e um com duas camas single; uma cozinha open space totalmente equipada, onde poderá preparar as suas refeições juntamente com a sua família ou amigos, aproveitando a vista para o mar.
No exterior está a “cereja no topo do bolo”. A espaçosa varanda oferece o melhor para desfrutar umas férias de luxo: barbecue, jacuzzi com uma vista espetacular para o mar e um espaço para tomar banhos de sol.
O apartamento está totalmente equipado com todas as comodidades e dispõe de ar condicionado; tv e som ambiente em todas as divisões.

Encontram-se a decorrer obras de construção nas proximidades da propriedade, pelo que poderá observar-se a ocorrência ocasional de ruído em período diurno.

O BAIRRO E AS REDONDEZAS
Situado numa das mais prestigiadas zonas turísticas do Funchal, este apartamento está perto de um agradável passeio marítimo, praias, supermercados, farmácias, lojas e do centro comercial Forum Madeira, que dispõe vários espaços de reconhecidas marcas internacionais e salas de cinema.
Nas proximidades, existem vários bares e restaurantes onde poderá deliciar-se com a nossa gastronomia ou com pratos de cozinha internacional. Para além das opções mais próximas, poderá deslocar-se ao centro da cidade do Funchal (cinco minutos de carro) onde vai encontrar uma maior variedade de restaurantes.
A cerca de três quilómetros do apartamento encontra-se a Praia Formosa, sugestiva para mergulhos e banhos de sol sobre o calhau e areia preta. O complexo balnear do Lido tem piscina e acesso ao mar e fica a quatro minutos (a pé) do apartamento.

Para partidas e chegadas do aeroporto, há uma paragem de aerobus a cerca de 2 minutos da casa. Para partidas e chegadas do aeroporto, a melhor opção para chegar ao apartamento será o transfer. The location was great for us as we were running the half marathon. Great restaurants close by too. The view was lovely and overall the facilities were ok - very clean kitchen facilities.
A few things let it down. The jacuzzi wasn’t working - although the owners did give us a small refund to reflect this. The coffee machine was missing the milk frother. The roller shutter in One of the bedrooms didn’t work. There was also a smell of drains in one of the bathrooms.

Die Wohnung ist fantastisch. Die Aufteilung und Einrichtung ist sehr gut durchdacht. Der Ausbkick auf das Meer war atemberaubend. Wir haben sogar Delphine beobachten können. This apartment is absolutely fantastic. Firstly, the view straight out to the ocean, is simply amazing. It’s a large apartment, all bedrooms are a great size with storage in each one. The modern kitchen is a breeze to use. This apartment is one of a kind and one that I will be booking for my next visit to Madeira. You cannot go wrong here!
Unfortunately through no fault of the host, there was construction happening on a block adjacent to the building which did cause day noise.

Parking was a tight squeeze in the basement. You need to ensure you get your angles right. It didn’t help that two cars continually parked in a no parking area of the basement which dramatically reduced the turning space making it even harder. Obviously this is no fault of the host.

Overall, we were pleased with our stay and would not hesitate to book again. The apartment is as described and was well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen. Although we did not cook, it was nice to have access to plenty of cups and plates for a quick drink and snack. The location was ideal as we could walk to restaurants, shopping and had a beautiful view of the ocean and island from the deck. The hosts were very responsive with questions asked during our stay and were quick to remediate the few items we reached out on. We did have some confusion regarding our checkin as we arrived around midnight and had received conflicting information regarding whether we were checking ourselves in or someone was meeting us. The day before I was told that someone would be onsite; however when we landed and were enroute I was sent a video on how to access the apartment which took some time to figure out after a long days travel.

We enjoyed staying in this condo. It was conveniently located so that we could walk to wonderful dinners every evening. We also were able to go on some beautiful walks from the condo. Had a couple issues getting settled in the condo (with WIFI, etc) but we were able to get it all figured out. Would have been nice to have manuals in English for hot tub, washing machine and other appliances. Also would have been nice to have more than one set of towels for a weekly stay. The beautiful view made up for these inconveniences.

Tolle Lage in Stadtnähe mit super Terrasse
Ziemlich viel Staub am Boden, Küchenausstattung nicht Top (kein Brotmesser) Glasfronten am Balkon sehr schmutzig. Lärm durch die Baustelle nicht wie angekündigt von 09:00 - 17:00 Uhr sondern von 08:00 - 18:00 Uhr!

Wir waren mit einer 5er Gruppe 8 Tage in der Wohnung. Die große Terrasse ist das absolute Highlight, dank der Glasabtrennung kann man auch in den Sesseln oder Sitzsäcken den Blick auf den Atlantik genießen. Hinzu kommt der Whirlpool, den man auch bei kälterem Wetter problemlos nutzen kann. Neben dem Balkon hat auch der restliche Wohnbereich überzeugt, die offene Küche lädt aufgrund ihrer großen Arbeitsfläche zum gemeinsamen Kochen ein. Sollte man trotz der guten Lage und der zahlreichen Restaurants und Bars einen Abend zuhause verbringen sollen, bietet der große Fernseher auch die Möglichkeit den Abend auf der Couch zu verbringen. Die Schlafzimmer inklusive angrenzenden Bädern waren ebenfalls super. Die Betten waren bequem und die Bäder mit Regendusche und Bidet ausgestattet.
Wir können einen Aufenthalt hier nur empfehlen.

Excellent séjour dans cet appartement à la vue exceptionnelle. Les photos sont conformes à la réalité. Échanges très fluides et très réactifs avec l’hôte, le tout par e-mail. Contrairement à certains commentaires de voyageurs précédents, nous avons pu bénéficier du jacuzzi avec une eau bien chaude !
Seul hic … des travaux de construction d’un bâtiment juste derrière l’appartement apportant d’importantes nuisances sonores surtout le matin… dommage que nous n’ayons pas été prévenu… les travaux démarraient à 8h00 voire bien plus tôt lorsque des machines étaient livrées …

We had such an incredible time. We were already excited from the pictures of the property but when we arrived, wow it was even better than we thought. We got the hot tub going that first night so it was hot by morning and when we awoke we all felt like we were on a ship because the sea is just there, everywhere. We just loved it. We were so comfortable, we could relax, we had such great space. Everyone could lie around in perfect comfort. Just exactly what we needed. My family booked the apartment to celebrate my 60th birthday and it was perfect in every way. We are already talking about coming again.

Sehr gut ausgestattete Unterkunft in einer ruhigen Lage mit schönem Meerblick und nicht weit vom Zentrum Funchal.
Geschäfte, Cafés und Restaurants gab es alles in der Nähe.
Die Unterkunft war nicht gut sauber. Boden war relativ dreckig.
Die Bettwäsche und die Decken hatten Flecken und waren nicht frisch.
Allerdings wurde die Bettwäsche noch am selben Abend der Reklamation durch neue frische Wäsche umgetauscht.

Superb flat in an excellent location. The only real problem is the hot tub which doesn't heat up sufficiently. We contacted the agent about this and very promptly had a visit. However, it was never resolved. Looking at previous reviews this seems to be a very common story. So, if you really want a working hot tub this isn't the place for you. However, otherwise it's great.

Five days is not enough. We barely visited everything on our list and then our time was up. This place is next to the Atlantis Mediterranean Restaurant and the building is down a hill towards the ocean. Really great place to stay while we explored the island. If we had another visit we would stay longer to have time to relax after all our day trips. So plan a day of no tours and take in all that this place has to offer.

I wouldn’t stay in this place again, but I will provide the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Good
The view is lovely, and it is in a nice area of Funchal. Our friends who had an issue with their NYE plans were able to see the fireworks.

The Bad
The communication with the company was interesting. There were almost continuous issues and sometimes they would reply promptly and sometimes they wouldn’t respond at all. We had no idea when or if things would be resolved.

The Ugly
The place wasn’t clean or ready for occupancy at check in time. It looked like the previous occupants had left quite a mess. The apartment was never fully cleaned. We didn’t have any towels for hours after checkin so we were unable to shower. There were dirty dishes with dried food stuck on them in the cabinets. The floor clearly hadn’t been mopped. The hot tub was full of hair and dirt (which they did eventually come clean). The kitchen wasn’t fully stocked. As an example there was only one wine glass.

We think had some misunderstanding.
All the problems described here were only said to us in the end of the stay which Airbnb support gave the reason to this guest even tho we asked no to.
The cleaning problems only appeared the day after the check-in which the guest just said here that was with friends on the property.
This wasn't report to us also, since our properties have a strict party policy.
We see this review as a revenge one since the guest didn't had a full refund.

The location: nearby the see, plenty restaurants around, on the monumental avenue.
The sea view: except from the bedrooms, you have sea views from everywhere : kitchen, lounge, balcony, terrasse, "external" kitchen.
Full south: meaning sun from sunrise to sunset.
The internal distribution. The flat is well organized.
The appartment is clean and modern.
A little mess up at the arrival. Our guest didn't give the access key to swimming pool. It arrived more than 24 hours later.
Even if the flat has been well refurbished, the building is an old one.
We couln't make the coffee machine working and some kitchen articles are missing: only 2 wine glasses.

The space was great for 5 adults, situated in Lido there was plenty of opportunity to eat and drink in the area or use the self-catering facilities in the apartment. The hot tub was an added bonus especially at sunset. Great location for all guided tours and walking distance to Funchal Harbour.
The keylock was a little difficult to use and some electronic gadgets needed maintenance, but overall it didn't spoil our holiday. There needs to be more cooking utensils for self-catering purposes.

We had a stunning stay at this villa. Waking up to beautiful sea views was incredible. The jacuzzi was easy to use and on our final day we had a lavish breakfast.

My one critique is that when we used the oven the power went out but it was easily resolved by flipping the switch in the fuse box.

Overall we’d definitely return!

We really enjoyed the time in the flat. Large enough for 6 people, perfect view to the sea, very nice balcony.
The only thing I would suggest to have a prepared short description for all the equipment on the kitchen, e.g. the integrated coffee machine - tricky to you find the switch perfect, if you find ityougetreally good coffee :)

Wow what a view. Perfect apartment. However very difficult to find if you go by the address. So just ask for The Moby Dick Restaurant. Next to Tiles restaurant and you’re there. Maybe use What3Words app. The online map link sends you a long way away. But apart from. It was perfect.

The location of Baia 1 is wonderful. You are close to the best restaurants and sights if walking or using public transportation. The 180 degree beautiful ocean view and sounds of the crashing waves are enjoyed from inside the condo and from the two decks and hottub. The modern accommodations are perfect. We stayed a month and did not want our vacation to end!

My husband and I have been to Madeira two previous times, this time staying at Baía for a month.
The location is perfect, close to the best restaurants and walking or using public transportation to Funchal sites. The underground parking is safe, private and easily accessible via elevator.
The sound of the waves pounding along the shore while relaxing on the decks overlooking the ocean was our happy place! The hot tub was also a perfect addition to viewing the ocean.
The modern, up-to-date furnishings were well done. The beds were very comfortable.
The only negative regarding the property is that the entire building is starting to age but once inside the property, it is perfect!

Location! Location! Location! The views at night and in the morning are stunning. Close to restaurants, your buses, supermarket and beach. The space is well appointed. It would be nice to have a little lighting in the hallway as the motion sensor light did not work, but once in the apartment… beautiful!

The apartment was nicely appointed and the location was close to everything! The location was ideal for its spectacular Sunrise and Nightly Moon shimmering on the ocean. Some items needed a little TLC, but nothing that would deter us from stay there again.

great location and view was perfect. a lovely space for a family holiday. Catarina was a great holiday host and available by text at all times
Disappointed that there were no USB sockets available. plenty of crockery and kitchen equipment but only having two wine glasses was not ideal. there was also a problem with the electricity fusing when the oven and hot plate were on. Catarina was going to sort this with an electrician visit.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits au sein du logement, avec une superbe vue et un très bel agencement. Toutefois, nous avons vivement regretté le dysfonctionnement du jacuzzi qui, malgré mes relances et les promesses d’un passage d’un technicien par la conciergerie, n’a pas fonctionné durant le séjour. La température augmentait seulement du fait de l’ensoleillement durant la journée, d’où un jacuzzi inutilisable. La conciergerie m’a dit qu’elle revenait vers moi pour une indemnisation mais à ce jour je n’ai eu aucun contact de leur part. La propreté du logement était correct mais le jacuzzi présentait des traces de salissures. Aussi je tiens à préciser que certains volets roulants ne fonctionnent pas, et que certains détails dans les pièces d’eaux laissent à désirer.
Malgré tout le point de vue est superbe et l’architecture d’intérieure est particulièrement bien pensée.
Il est dommage que vos engagements concernant le jacuzzi n’ait pas été tenu.

Der Schlüssel war bereits um 13 Uhr in der Box und wir konnten sofort in die Wohnung. Schön eingerichtetes Appartement mit vielen Extras. Sehr geräumig, gut ausgestattet, Meerblick von der Terasse, Garage… WLAN sehr gut. Grill incl.Kohlen und Anzünder, Waschmaschine
Wasser in der Dusch/Badewanne lief nur schlecht ab. Im 2ten Bad kein warmes Wasser in der Dusche. Elektrische Rollladen die nicht funktionnierten und Jacuzzi war dreckig und eiskalt. Im Fernsehen nur 1 deutscher Sender, wir hatten schlechtes Wetter ansonsten braucht man vielleicht nicht mehr.

- We had to wait 3h1/2 fot an early check-in !
- We had to wait 1 day to fill the jacuzi
- We had to wait 4 days to fixe Tv and Netflix
- We asked for an second transat (1 transat fot 3 rooms !), but he never arrived in 9 days
- The windows were not cleaned, so we couldn't enjoy the view.
- We didn't get the key of the pool untill we were blocked behind the closed door of the pool

Kevin, as you know the jacuzzi wasn't broken. It was just turned off; you followed our instructions and managed to turn it on (as shown in the photos you sent us). And as you well know, the neighbours called the police 3x, due to the noise you were making late at night ( 3 and 4 a.m.) as well as the situation where you threw the sun lounger from the apartment building down (6 floors down).
We were very saddened by the state you left the flat in: completely vandalised and destroyed. Not to mention that you went against property rules (you smoked inside the flat and played loud music when the cleaning team was still finishing preparing the flat for you).

A 25 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) to Funchal port and old town.
Lovely balcony with hot tub and adjacent sun room with built in barbecue, cooker area overlooking the sea.
Would definitely rebook.

Die Aussicht ist fantastisch. Die Farben in der Wohnung sind sehr ansprechend, ein schönes Design. Die Grösse der Wohnung ist sehr grosszügig.
Die Wohnung war leider alles andere als sauber geputzt. Bei unserer Ankunft um 16Uhr haben die Putzfrauen gerade erst mit der Arbeit begonnen. Alles ist eher verlebt und brächte mal wieder eine sanfte Renovation. Die eingebaute Kaffeemaschine war leider kaputt.

The property was in a great location, the view of the ocean was amazing, the rooms were spacious and the kitchen was big.
Unfortunately there were several things that were broken. There was also not enough glasses and the drainage on the shower did not work very well.

Communication is unfortunately poor from the supplier which effected our holiday slightly. The apartment is great though and I think most issues you read in the comments are now fixed (the hot tub worked great!). There’s some wear and tear but nothing too noticeable and overall it’s a lovely place to stay

The apartment was a wonderful stay at a great location where one can easily access everything. The Airbnb offered an amazing experience due to the facilities it offered. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is due to some broken things in the apartment such as one closet which could not be opened and therefore not used during our stay. However, except for that everything was great and I would definitely recommend it if you are in Funchal, Madeira. The communication with the host has also been praiseworthy as they offer you a website where you have an overview of your booking with live chat which responses very quickly!

I was so looking forward to stay here although we had quite a few issues. The place just does not look like the pictures. It’s very nice, but a little over priced. Doors in both bedroom would not close cause the frame were de railed and when we decided to have some wine there was only ONE glass in the cupboard. When trying to open the wine we realised the bottle opener was broken and had an old cork on it already. The place was super clean and nice but pictures need to be updated cause the bnb is not as new as it looks in those pictures. The hot tub was a big issue, we mainly booked the bnb for that. Turns out the hot tub circuit breaker was hidden behind the door and it was tripped off with no instructions. Therefore the hot tub was freezing and water not clean (cigarette buds found in filter/ water cloudy and green). We had to clean the hot tub ourselves which was irritating. Instructions to check in or to even find the place weren’t clear. No one met us at the stay. Just little details that make the difference when there are a lot of good apartments to choose from in the area. Overall it was just ok

Outstanding views, the hot tub was delightful, and it's a very reasonable walk into Funchal. Despite being 6 floors up, however, there were a lot of mosquitoes in the apartment. We found some plug-in repellant so figure it's not a new issue. The air conditioning was broken in one room, and the cool built in coffee maker doesn't work but there is a standard drip type available (and free coffee!). The interior is as gorgeous as shown in the pictures, but the outside is a little dingy and the lights in the interior hallway leading to the elevator don't turn on. Having a parking place was a HUGE bonus! If you have trouble finding it, search for the (currently closed) Moby Dick restaurant.

Very beautiful apartment with an incredible view and the jacuzzi is a nice touch. Location is also wonderful close to shops and restaurants. The apartment is not well stocked however so be prepared to have to purchase essentials as well a cooking utensils such as pots and pans.

Das Apartment befindet dich direkt an der Küste und ist sehr zentral. Die Ausstattung ist hervorragend. Küche, samt Equipment wirklich toll, die Badezimmer funktionell und hochwertig. Ein absolutes Highlight ist die Wahnsinns-Terrasse mit Hot Tub und einer mega Aussicht. Der Pool innerhalb der Anlage ist super gepflegt und relativ groß. Die Aussenküche haben wir nicht genutzt, ist aber für mehrere Personen prima geeignet und mit dem Grill ein weiteres Highlight. Die Möbel in der Aussenküche sind zwar echter Stilbruch im Vergleich zur hochwertigen Innenausstattung des Apartments, aber zweckmäßig und letztlich Geschmacksache. Alles im Apartment hat tadellos funktioniert,- wirklich klasse!

Die Fotos geben das Apartment samt Aussicht perfekt wieder.

Insgesamt sind es nur kurze Wege nach Funchal oder ins Einkaufszentrum. Ein Supermarkt befindet sich nur 100 Meter entfernt, mit Top Auswahl für Selbstversorger. Restaurants, kleinere Geschäfte und Bars fussläufig und in kurzer Distanz.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder buchen!
Das einzige was wir wirklich vermisst haben waren Insektengitter an den Schlafzimmern. Dieses Jahr gibt es wahnsinnig viele Stechmücken, die uns wirklich gequält haben wenn die Fenster offen waren.
Aber dafür kann das Apartment nichts, deshalb in allen Bereichen volle Punktzahl :-)

It was a HORRIBLE experience.

Where should I begin? The air conditioning wasn't working in one of the bedrooms. THEY NEVER FIXED!

I called them several times thru WhatsApp and when they saw my nr they refused the ca;; many times. They were ironic and sarcastic on the messages with me and I had to chase them texting several times until they responded.

The view, the wave sound (windows 24h open), the terrace, the location... One of the best flats locations in Funchal.
Lack of direct sea access: you need to walk a bit to go to the crowded nearby sea beaches.

Everything was excellent.
We could get the apartment key from a safe box so its was easy and contactless.

We rent a car, so the garage is very useful.
The center of Funchal is just 5 minutes and airport is 20 minutes by car, supermarket and beach are 5 minutes by walk, many restaurants near by, so the location was also perfect.
I recommend this apartment for every one.
I would stay here again when I got a chance to come back Madeira.
That would be great if the hot tub was ready to use.
We cleaned up ourselves but it was not so big deal.

The entire condo was wonderful and the view was absolutely amazing.
The beds were not conformable... The MATTRESSES were very stiff and we woke up with sore muscles every morning. I would highly recommend that you provide a GOOD QUALITY bed topper for each bed in the condo and buy better quality pillows that are DOWN ALTERNATIVE. I would give this place a 10 out of 10 however, because the MATTRESS and the PILLOWS were not comfortable at all I would only give this place 5 out of 10. Beds and pillows are extremely important when travelling so although the place and surrounding were absolutely perfect and wonderful I would only give this place a 5. That saying this can be easily fixed. Thank you.

The views from the balcony are breathtaking. Sitting in the hot tub after a long day and being able to enjoy a view like that is amazing. It’s in a very crowded tourist area so it’s nice that parking is included otherwise we would have had a rough time trying to find parking The apartment has everything you could possibly need or want.

Just as good as it looks. There is a steep hill to climb to reach the main road, so if you have mobility issues, it may not be the right location. We really enjoyed our stay here and would book again if we ever wanted to return to Funchal in the future. The people in this area of the resort are extremely friendly, and nothing is too much trouble.

As at least one other reviewer stated, look no further. The pictures are exactly what the apartment looks like and the place is extremely modern and spacious. The view from the large balcony is amazing and there’s a hot tub as well. The place is so nice that we almost didn’t want to do any site seeing as it was so cozy. The place has almost every amenity possible and it was relaxing to come back to after touring the island. The apartment is an approximately 20 minute walk to the center of Funchal, or there is a bus/taxi stand 2-3 minutes away. There are also many restaurants close by along with a grocery store and a quick mart. We had two children with us and we all LOVED the apartment. Trust me, you will too!

Stop looking and book now. This apartment is absolutely fabulous. We stayed for a week in March with our 3 year old daughter. It is extremely spacious, very well appointed, sunny, bright, and very, very comfortable. The view is second to none. The jacuzzi was a nice touch and we used it daily. It was very safe for our young daughter. She has so much room to run around and even play on the sizable patio. The second kitchen with BBQ was awesome - we used it several times. There is really nothing lacking in this place. It has everything. Great location, amazing view, comfort and style.

The apartment is exactly as it is described and looks in the pictures. The real attraction is the very large balcony which is a sun trap and has a gorgeous view of the sea.
The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a separate BBQ area. Lots of lovely touches such as beach towels in the cupboard.
The location is great with the centre of Funchal around 30 min walk or a quick hop on the bus away. Be prepared for steep hills on the walk back!
Fantastic communication and greeting from the host with prompt replies to questions.
We would highly recommend a stay here.
