O BAIRRO E AS REDONDEZAS
Esta casa encontra-se numa zona central privilegiada, mesmo no coração da cidade do Funchal. A 15 minutos a pé do Mercado dos Lavradores e da Zona Velha do Funchal, a partir daqui poderá explorar a pé os diversos pontos turísticos da nossa bonita cidade. (ex. Teleférico, Marina do Funchal, Museu CR7, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc…)
TRANSPORTES
Com paragem de autocarros na imediações (cinco minutos de distância), os transportes não serão problema para os nossos hóspedes.
Para partidas e chegadas do aeroporto, há uma paragem de aerobus a cerca de sete minutos da casa, embora que a melhor opção para chegar ao apartamento será o transfer. Peça-nos para marcar um com os nossos parceiros locais. É mais barato do que os táxis que encontra no aeroporto!

The appartment is spacious , well located. It has everything needed for a short to medium stay. The view of the near ocean and sunrise is beautiful. The blinds would benefit from more cleaning. The empty room could be used as a nook with a sitting area or at least having a small sofa somewhere in the appartment.

Die Unterkunft eignet sich perfekt, um Funchal und Madeira zu erkunden! Die Lage ist unschlagbar und es finden sich viele Lokale in unmittelbarer Nähe. Es war alles vorhanden, was benötigt wird. Das Appartement liegt sehr zentral direkt in der Innenstadt, 2 Minuten zu Fuß zum Weihnachtsmarkt und nur ein paar Minuten zum Hafen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon im 4. OG mit schönem Ausblick auf den Berg. Das Appartement ist mit allem notwendigen ausgestattet, sogar einer Küche mit Herd, Kühlschrank und Mikrowelle. Bardzo udany pobyt, lokalizacja idealna jeśli chodzi o zwiedzanie Funchal. Sam apartament czysty i zadbany, w połowie naszego pobytu dostaliśmy świeżą pościel i ręcznik a sam apartament został wysprzątany. Łatwy dostęp dzięki kodowi do otwierania drzwi (nie wymaga klucza). O apartamento é espetacular: tudo é completamente novo, está muito bem limpo e é mesmo no centro do Funchal (a 5 minutos a pé do Mercado). Uma das coisas que mais gostei estando a viajar sozinha é que a porta tem um mecanismo eletronico que tranca automaticamente - muito moderno, prático e eficiente. A great place to stay and very close to many restaurants and bars. There were lots of choices on the street of the air bnb. Everything was as described and the place looked exactly like the photos. It was in a great location, a quick walk to the waterfront. Overall, we were very pleased with the accommodations!

Das Zimmer entsprach ganz den Bildern und den Bewertungen. Die Küche bot alles um kleine Mahlzeiten zuzubereiten. Auch ein Ventilator war vorhanden, wenn es mal keine A/C sein sollte. Leider war es durch die Lüftungsanlagen im Innenhof manchmal sehr laut. Ebenso andere Gäste waren durch das Treppenhaus gut zu hören :-/. Alles in allem war es eine sehr schöne Unterkunft in der wir uns 7 Tage lang sehr wohlfühlen konnten. Besonders gut hat uns der sehr lange late checkout gefallen, den man für einen kleinen Aufpreis dazu buchen konnte. Wir würden beim nächsten Besuch wieder buchen :-) eventuell funktioniert dann auch wieder der Fahrstuhl ;-)

I loved my experience at 'An Island.' I felt at home, and the apartment looked just like the pictures, or even better. The only downside was that it could be a bit noisy, but that was likely due to the other guests rather than the place itself.

La ubicación del apartamento. Está en el mismo centro, cerca de restaurantes, centros comerciales, a 10 min andando del puerto marítimo. Al llegar vi un par de problemas en el apartamento y enseguida me los soluiconaron. También me gustó que hubiese zona de lavadora y secadora en el edificio. Al ser un destino de rutas y dependiendo de la metereología una lavadora siempre viene bien. Les comentamos que el aparato de aire acondicionado no echaba aire caliente y nos dijeron que en marzo tenían desactivada la opción de calefacción. Con la temperatura que ha estado haciendo los primeros días de nuestra estancia hubiésemos agradecido tener calefacción por las noches.

Place is located in the centre of Funchal Old Town, we had the little flat on the last floor, with kitchen and balcony, where we could eat and drink coffee. In the kitchen u have all u need to prepare food, even a blender! We also have a view on the ocean, what is always nice. In the building was a washing machine and dryer. Staing in this house u can feel like in your own flat, not a hotel. We had small problem with AC in our room. Building is located in the city, so sometimes was a bit noisy, but this was not a big deal :)

Eine sehr zentral total gelegene Wohnung! Man kann in Funchal alles von hier aus zu Fuß machen :-) In der Dusche lief das Wasser sehr schlecht ab, aber ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Apartment is in a good location for downtown Funchal. A few good close by restaurants. Space was as described. Apartment in general could have been maintained better. It was necessary to run the shower at low pressure, or to stop and start the water to avoid flooding the bathroom. We did get by without using the AC, but it did not blow cool air. In the warmer months, this could have been an issue. There was also a cracked glass pane in one of the windows. I reported all this to the host. They did send someone out, who only confirmed what I had reported. We were there for 13 days and there was no effort made to rectify any of the reported issues. I will say that for regular communication, they were very responsive.
In my opinion, if these small issues were rectified/or did not exist, I would rate 5 stars.

I stayed in a hotel during the week and tried this airbnb so I’d have a chance to cook for myself. It’s a good location and the lift is useful. The shower didn’t drain properly but does eventually and wifi signal not the strongest (if you’re planning on doing work) but otherwise it was totally fine. In the end I didn’t cook for myself but the kitchen was well equipped for basic cooking. I popped into a cheese shop and picked up some very strong cheese and very thick yoghurt from the Azores. I hope the cleaners or host eat the leftovers. The cheese was interesting. Restaurant wise I recommend Terra Food Concept for dinner and the Museum cafe for lunch or Prima Caju if you’re missing veg and fruit. Funchal is a calm and peaceful place to come to.

The apartment was very clean, looked exactly like in the pictures. It is situated in a nice neighborhood, close to everywhere. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay. We also got some clear instructions on how to check in etc. We would totally recommend this one :)

Perfect base for exploring Madeira. Central so walkable everywhere with lots of restaurants and supermarkets on your doorstep. Even though a studio apartment it was spacious, had good storage and a lovely outside space with views of the mountains and that was very peaceful despite the central location.

We are very satisfied with this place as it has a great location and very close to the ocean and great restaurants. The host was very nice and helpful and very fast at responding to our messages.

L’excellente localisation du studio compense le manque de vue de la chambre. Laissez les rideaux fermés, la chambre sera d’autant plus fraîche pour dormir sans avoir besoin de brancher l’AC, au printemps. La terrasse est agréable et la cuisine toute équipée. La salle de bains est propre, il y a un sèche-cheveux. Le studio est parfait pour un couple pour quelques jours. Il n’est pas nécessaire de louer une voiture, Funchal se visite très bien à pieds. Pour visiter l’île la gérance vous recommande un chauffeur particulier à un prix très raisonnable que personnellement j’ai beaucoup apprécié.

Die Unterkunft liegt im Zentrum von Funchal und ist sehr gut mit den öffentlichen Transportmitteln zu erreichen. In der Näheren Umgebung gibt es eine Vielzahl an Restaurants, Bäckereien und sonstige Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, außerdem bietet es einen perfekten Ausgangspunkt, um die Madeira Abenteuer zu starten. Das Apartment selbst war wie beschrieben und sehr unkompliziert zu finden. Die Sauberkeit ist hier (mit Ausnahme der Dusche) besonders hervorzuheben. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, sodass auch das gemeinsame Kochen möglich ist, wenn man mal nicht auswärts essen möchte. Insgesamt können wir das Apartment sehr empfehlen! Gerne wieder

Wonderful place to stay. Exactly as listed with proactive and responsive host.
Nicely finished and well appointed with beautiful views from mini terrace. Clean as well.
Main appeal is how central it is, everything is walkable really, and yet also very peaceful and quiet location.
More generally Madeira and Funchal in particular is a great place to stay too.

Perfect little studio apartment for my short visit to Funchal. I appreciated how clean it was and loved the gorgeous views. The sweet tiny private veranda with tile-top table and chairs was a nice bonus. The place felt very private yet was right in the middle of everything.

All communication been easy and fast. We had a good time in Funchal. Location of Appartmet is very central. The nearby Church rings during daytime, not at night :),

posizione centralissima. Appartamento quarto piano con ascensore. Vista su collina e in parte sul mare, bella nel centro storico. Cucina attrezzata e terrazzino comodo al piano. Bene le prese e Wi-Fi. Mancanza di tappetino in bagno e di più asciugamani. La doccia potrebbe essere attrezzata meglio, più getti e porta oggetti. Peccato non ci sia un’anticamera, e il letto sia vicino alla porta d’ingresso.

die Lage ist genial Wohnung roch nach Zigarettenrauch, eine Fensterscheibe war angebrochen, Fenster sind dreckig von außen (müsste ein Profi lösen), Dusche schimmelt, zu wenig Toilettenpapier, keine Geschirr Handtücher, die zusätzliche Wolldecke sollte gewaschen werden bevor man sie an die nächsten Mieter übergibt (waren Haare daran 🤢), wifi war über mehrere Stunden nicht verfügbar, WhatsApp Chat wird einfach nicht oder nur manchmal beantwortet, Zimmer Zugangscode wird schon Tage vorher an den neuen Gast übermittelt - der dann unverhofft im Apartment steht 😬 und es gibt keinen Tresor

We had a very nice stay in a top-floor apartment, with a magnificent view on the mountains (from the terrace) and on the the sea. The kitchen is well-equipped and we loved the terrace. The location is great to visit the city or to explore the surroundings (seaside, levadas.. ). There are many good restaurants nearby. Some of the windows were a bit old and, on a windy night, were noisily shattered by the wind. However, we visited in December, and this is probably not a problem in warmer months.

The position was ideal, super central and close to the marina. A little road full of shops and restaurants, despite being central the noise was never a problem. The room was bright with huge windows, a good size kitchenette a bathroom with shower and a little balcony, just perfect for our breakfast and lunch. The laundry room on the 2nd floor was equipped with e everything we might have needed. The carpet was quite old and smelly, so I think it should be either changed or removed. The room is lovely even without the carpet. We had no key for the room and when our automatic locker was stuck because the battery was over, we could not get in and we had to bother the owner (which came promptly so it's perfect).

Das Self-Check-in und die Verfügbarkeit für Kommunikation ist sehr gut bei An Island Apart. Auch die Lage in Downtown ist sehr praktisch, man kann wirklich sehr leicht die wichtigen Punkte in Funchal erreichen (Marina, Busstation, Altstadt mit Restaurants). Die Sauberkeit des Apartments hätte besser sein können. Ich hätte mich besonders in Hinblick auf Corona über eine gründlichere Reinigung gefreut. We had a great stay at the Apartment „4B - Pico do Areeiro“! The arrival and check in were great! With quick and good communication with the hosts! The apartment can be easily reached with the aerobus and could not be more central! With numerous great restaurants just at your doorstep! Its perfectly located to explore funchal and the rest of the island! And its equipped with everything needed to cook yourself if you dont want to go out for dinner every evening!
All in all we had an excellent time and would recommend everyone to stay at the funchal downtown apartments!

La ubicación, está en una calle con buenos restaurantes, así como cercano a la zona velha y salida/entrada a la ciudad. También hay parkings privados a buen precio (3/4€ el día). El check in no fue ágil, no hay recepción y nadie nos esperó al llegar, cuando ya habíamos avisado del horario de llegada. Tuvimos que llamar y nos costó tratar el tema aunque en un rato lo conseguimos.

Nice apartment with a little terrace. You will enjoy a perfect location in Funchal, just near the Jardim Municipal. I recommend !

Die tolle Lage in der Altstadt und die Ruhe. Wir haben in der 4. Etage gewohnt und außer dem Türen knallen anderer Gäste nichts gehört. Es gab eine Heizung, die teilweise auch von Nöten war. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet auch wenn wir sie nur für das Frühstück benutzt haben. Anfragen an die Vermieter wurden umgehend zu unserer Zufriedenheit beantwortet. Das Verhalten anderer Gäste bezüglich Mülltrennung. Obwohl 4 verschiedene Tonnen vorhanden waren, wurde alles in den Restmüll geworfen und diese war nach Entleerung am Folgetag wieder voll. Aber da kann der Vermieter nichts dafür.

Malgré une communication un peu difficile au début nous avons passé une agréable semaine dans cet appartement idéalement situé en plein centre de Funchal (supermarché a 6/7min, port à moins de 10min à pied ..) L’appartement est moderne et bien aménagé, la vue sur la mer depuis le lit 🤩 Très bon séjour

It's a great location right in the city center of Funchal, we enjoyed the clean and modern room; easy check-in / check-out. Recommended especially for guests without car! We're looking forward to coming back to Madeira soon!

lejligheden er meget central - en anbefaling vil være at sige ja tak til transfare fra og til lufthavnen fra udbyderen af lejligheden.. man spare ca 10 euro hver vej i forhold til taxa prisen :-) ville være rart med mulighed for bare èn gang i løbet af ugen, at kunne hente rene håndklæder og ekstra toilet ruller

Good in town location. In good neat condition. No chairs to lounge in apart from table chairs. Uncomfortable after half hour. Had to use the bed instead. No views from balcony if sitting down.

Great space, very conveniently located, very near and tidy. The small balcony had a great view of the hillside and fort, the kitchen was small but very nice, and with the windows open you got a very nice breeze coming off the ocean.

Lovely, clean space that’s perfect for a couple. The apartment is set in a great central location in Funchal, close to the Promenade and Old Town where you will find the best restaurants and bars. The hosts were also great, really helpful and very quick at responding to any queries. Would definitely recommend!

Das Apartment ist recht neu und gut ausgestattet. Der Raum ist für zwei Personen ausreichend, das Bett sehr gut.
Das einzig störende sind die brummenden Klimaanlagen im Hinterhof und der Essensgeruch der Pizzeria aus dem Erdgeschoß.

Nous avons trouvé un appartement très propre, pratique et en parfait état dans un immeuble impeccable. La situation est parfaite dans Funchal, près des commerces des transports et des lieux de visite. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et guidés par Carolina. Un excellent séjour!

The apartment is very nice and has everything you need and there is even the possibility to do your laundry if necessary. The location is just perfect for visiting Funchal: tourist attractions, restaurants and bars are close by and it is still calm. I liked the interior design of the apartment a lot. The people from the agency were very helpful and kind.
