A luz natural, o amplo terraço e a vista soberba sobre o Funchal e para as montanhas são o ex-libris deste apartamento-duplex. Três quartos de dormir, lounge, piscina, sala, e cozinha equipada, o apartamento está a 5 minutos a pé do coração da cidade.
Este duplex fica no sexto e último andar de um edifício calmo e soalheiro, e convida a banhos de sol e a mergulhos na piscina encaixada no jardim do prédio.
No primeiro andar do apartamento, estão as três acomodações: dois quartos de dormir espaçosos e, ao fundo, uma suite com closet e cofre. É também neste piso que se encontra a sala de jantar e de estar, com uma varanda e uma vista esplêndida, e a espaçosa cozinha, equipada com eletrodomésticos modernos.
Os janelões dos quartos e a varanda do primeiro piso oferecem uma paisagem deslumbrante sobre a ilha, mas é quando subimos ao segundo andar que a vista é de cortar a respiração: o espaço de chillout, com espreguiçadeiras e uma mesa para se reunir com os amigos e/ou família, dá lugar a um grande terraço com vista sobre a cidade, sobre a baía do Funchal, em contraste com parte da cadeia montanhosa da ilha. É possível ver a Fortaleza do Pico, construída no século XVII, a Sé do Funchal ou a Cúpula do Convento de Santa Clara, dispostas entre os diferentes verdes da flora da Madeira. O terraço também dispõe de espreguiçadeiras para se estender sob sol ou sob as estrelas. Também se vêem as casas típicas, a Marina e os cruzeiros, e, em dias muito solarengos, as Ilhas Desertas como pano de fundo.
O BAIRRO E AS REDONDEZAS
A rua dos Jasmineiro, onde se situa o apartamento, desemboca numa das artérias da cidade, a Avenida do Infante. Ali há esplanadas tradicionais portuguesas, pastelarias típicas, e restaurantes gourmet. Em frente, encontra-se o Casino da Madeira e aconselhamos atravessar o Parque de Santa Catarina, o jardim que fica do lado esquerdo, para chegar ao centro do Funchal. São cinco minutos que valem a pena e mais não revelamos: queremos que descubra por si. Se for para o lado direito, o passeio também é convidativo e leva-o para a zona das praias – em todo o caso, escolha que caminho escolher, leve sempre o fato-de-banho na mochila já que a temperatura da água do mar ronda os 22 graus e é tempo de mergulhos quase todo o ano.
TRANSPORTES
Para partidas e chegadas do aeroporto, há uma paragem de aerobus cerca de 3 minutos a pé da casa, ou então, peça-nos para marcar um transfer de taxi com os nossos parceiros locais. Mais barato do que os táxis que encontra no aeroporto!

OUTRAS OBSERVAÇÕES
- Conforme a lei portuguesa, todos os hóspedes são obrigados a apresentar um documento de identificação válido. (ex. passaporte, bilhete de identidade).
- O check-in deve ser agendado antecipadamente. Caso não seja agendado num máximo de 48 horas, os hóspedes estarão sujeitos à disponibilidade da nossa equipa.

Everything was great! The only recommendation I have is about something minor - to get a new wine bottle opener. The one provided was broken and I'm sure the next guests will appreciate having one as the views go great with a glass of wine :)

Podczas pobytu 10 dniowego wymieniono nam pościel i ręczniki. Posprzątano także łazienki. Ogrzewanie elektryczne w pokojach i salonie. Klimatyzacji brak, ale to nie jest problem. Za wcześniejsze, jeśli możliwe, pobierana jest opłata 15€. Dobrze wyposażona kuchnia.
Źle działający czajnik elektryczny. Słaby sygnał WiFi i wolny internet.

Noisy location, which went on all night. Not a very good pool area, only two chairs and no parasols, didn’t feel very welcoming and was one of the reasons we chose the apartment.

Zapach z kanalizacji w toalecie dołączonej do najdalej położonego pokoju. Poza tym wszystko na plus! Przy tak dużym apartamencie przydałyby sie też 2 miejsca garażowe ( jest 1) ale w okolicy da się zaparkować bezpłatnie.

However, apart from the following, hopefully, constructive comments, the problems with this property don't need much to allow a 5-star review.
This property is spacious and well-equipped. However, the soft furnishings need to be replaced immediately. For the price, I expected at least one toilet roll in each of the four toilets, and at least one bath towel and one hand towel for each guest.
The cushions are old and faded and offer no comfort whatsoever.
The ensuite is also dated and smells damp, so the window has to be kept open to avoid the odor being too strong throughout the apartment.
The futuristic shower looks like something out of 'The Jetsons' and the water needs to run for several minutes before hot water arrives.
Overall it's a good property in a good location, but the soft furnishing, and towel and toilet roll situation would not cost much to rectify.

The apartment was very comfortable for our family of 5 and we really enjoy the space available in the bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and kitchen. It is easy to feel at home and to settle in to a nice comfortable stay.
We would love to return as this apartment has been a big factor in making our stay so wonderful.

The shower in the main bedroom wasn’t very good and the toilet in there kept running when you flushed. No bin bags or dishwasher tablets supplied - would have been nice to have been left a few.

After a whole day of hiking, just buy a bottle of good wine and sit on the roof terrace after sunset and enjoy life! You can do it here.
Unfortunately the shower in the main bathroom did not work and they failed to fix it in a week. It was a bit unpleasant but we were able to use the other two bathroom (there were five of us).

war er gegen Rempler oder anderen Fahrzeugen besser geschützt.
Sehr bequemes ein und ausfahren mittels Fernbedienung.
Duschtür oben Dachterasse Glas defekt. Es wurde nicht drauf hingewiesen. Sollte man schon reparieren lassen in kurzer Zeit.
Habe ich mir aber schriftlich per whatts app bestätigen lassen nachdem mir diese Beschädigung aufgefallen ist.
Kann nur jedem raten, wenn er so ein Fahrzeug mietet oder Ferienwohnung. Bei der Übergabe solche Fehler oder Mängel
gegen zu prüfen oder sich schriftlich bestätigen zu lassen.
Hühner schreien Nachts, Hunde bellen Nachts und die Feuerwache spielt mit dem Signal hinterm Haus.

we were very satisfied, my wife and I, that we were able to book this apartment on booking.com. It was very centrally located in Funchal with a breathtaking view of the city. However, the chickens woke us up at night and the barking dogs.
Then in the morning the ambulance and the fire station. That's annoying if you want to sleep with the window open

The apartment itself is outstanding. Located perfectly close to the casino and to the old town, close to the (not interesting) hotel district where you can find some nice restaurants. Anything worthy for a touristic stay is reachable walking.
Rooftop is over the edge with a fantastic view on Funchal and the coastline.
Decoration is modern, simple and perfectly adapted for peace of mind. Rooms are really nice and the facilities are well maintained, this is equivalent to a 4 star hotel, hands down. Even better because you have the all apartment for yourself !
I would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Madeira.

It was clean and well organised. The check in was excellent, and dealing with An Island Apart was straightforward. They were very flexible and allowed an early check in.
We wanted to stay longer, but it had already been booked.
It is up a hill from the Casino in a nice area. We’d definitely return.

The Equipment are working perfectly, washing machines, barbecue , internet, TV, ...
4 WC, 2 shower, 1 bath w massage !!
The pool is perfect, and we can see it from the appartment and decide to go depending on how many people are using it (we were alone most of the time !!)
Some minor remarks :
- no air conditionned (but many fans which is OK / temperature in Funchal max = 27°)
- slightly Noisy at night (we sleep with Windows open)
- sleeping material (deckchair) looks like it is not perfectly clean or old (some spots on it)
Anyway, it was a wonderful stay !

The biggest advantage is the rooftop with stunning view where you can do bbq or just chill with the nightlights.
The apartment is very good equipped - you have everything that you would possibly need for daily life.
We totally recommend you staying in this beautiful flat.

Worth noting that this property is up a hill. Quite a steep hill. Which makes sense, because being higher is how you get great views. Have I mentioned the views? If you're incredibly unfit, then this might not be the best property for you.

This apartment is incredibly roomy and comfortable. The view is amazing and worth paying for!
There is safe, underground parking and you will feel very secure here. It was quiet for sleeping. All appliances were in excellent condition and the filtered drinking water from the fridge was appreciated.
I was surprised that the beautiful kitchen was not better equipped with cooking utensils and pans and more glassware. So many empty cupboards!
A little extra attention to details such as shower cleanliness would have made this a top notch stay. I would stay here again.

The location is quite convenient, good for walking to the waterfront or city centre, around 10 minutes to the supermarket and plenty of brilliant restaurants near the casino (we recommend Casal de Penha as a favourite!). Madeira is full of hills so the walk back to the apartment is a little uphill but not too bad.
A perfect place to chill out or to use as a base for exploring.
The pool was a little cold as it was cloudy mostly but we were able to swim in it.
André had great communication throughout and Marianna was very attentive when checking us in at the apartment.

Reservation and communication with Andre was easy and clear.
The flat is furnished to a high standard (photos were accurate) and comfortably sleeps 6 adults. The rooftop terrace is a real bonus and gives breathtaking views over the city below.
The location is ideal for discovering Funchal on foot (albeit up and down the hills and steps!).
We would highly recommend this accommodation.

It was clean and plenty of towels etc. Huge amounts of space and the furnishings and fixtures were very high quality.
Everything was just spot on. This was our first experience of an Airbnb and we were very impressed indeed.
If you have booked here you are very lucky, if you have not then you should not hesitate

Furniture is a bit old-fashioned and takes up a lot of space, but is in good state and provides ample storage space.
Kitchen is equipped ok for up to 6 people (albeit without spares).
Generally two thumbs up if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Funchal!

Arrival was smooth and had no issues checking in or leaving. The place was also very clean and have everything we needed. Lots of options for eating and drinking within a short walk to the flat! Couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks so much Andre!

I proposed to my girlfriend on the roof terrace and the hosts went above and beyond to help make our stay a positively unforgettable experience.

A great terrace with a great view.
In january, it was a little cold inside because there is just one little electric heater, and we liked to have an electric coffe maker and an orange squeezer (because a lot of oranges at Madère).
A very good stay for a week in a wonderful island
