Appartement entièrement rénové avec une vue fantastique sur la mer, très proche de la vieille ville.

Explorer une ville inconnue à pied est toujours une bonne idée pour votre programme de vacances. Si tel est votre projet, cet appartement vous comblera.

Récemment rénovée, cette propriété est située tout près de la vieille ville, un lieu où l'art et la tradition s'unissent pour offrir une promenade agréable et de bons moments de dégustation de délices régionaux ou internationaux, disponibles dans les nombreux restaurants du quartier.
Avec une chambre à coucher avec un lit double, l'appartement offre une décoration très agréable et un confort adapté à vos besoins. Dans le salon, le bien-être se conjugue avec la belle vue sur la mer avec en point d'orgue le port de Funchal, visible à travers le balcon de l'appartement. À l'extérieur, vous pouvez prendre un repas léger sur le balcon, tout en contemplant la vue. Toujours dans le salon, vous disposez d'un canapé-lit qui ajoute deux couchages supplémentaires.
La cuisine est entièrement équipée et prête à accueillir vos repas pendant vos vacances.

LE QUARTIER ET LES ENVIRONS
Si vous venez pour profiter du beau temps et de ce que la ville de Funchal a de mieux à vous offrir, ne cherchez pas plus loin. C'est le quartier idéal !
Au printemps et en été, vous pouvez vous baigner au complexe balnéaire de Barreirinha ou à la petite plage située dans la vieille ville, tous deux à cinq minutes de marche de l'appartement. Tout au long de l'année, vous pourrez vous promener dans les rues et les jardins de la ville, ou le long de la promenade du bord de mer qui vous mènera à la Marina de Funchal et au Musée CR7.
Vous trouverez à proximité une grande variété de restaurants, bars, magasins et supermarchés, pharmacies et autres surfaces commerciales.

TRANSPORT
Pour les départs et les arrivées de l'aéroport, il y a un arrêt d'aérobus à environ quinze minutes de marche de la maison. Demandez-nous d'en organiser un avec nos partenaires locaux. C'est moins cher que les taxis que vous trouverez à l'aéroport !

The pictures corresponded to reality, only a little less cozy as shown in the Airbnb app. Although in previous comments were mentioned that there was a lot of noise, we were not bothered by any noise. Great view from the window from both balconies.

We did enjoy our stay but felt the property was not in the best condition that it could be. It is in a wonderful location to view the town, the harbour and the Fireworks! But we did not expect stains on the living room mat and the sofa and no cleaning service or cleaning products to do some cleaning ourselves during the month we spent in the apartment.. The shower leaked on to the bathroom floor and one electrical outlet was almost dangerous. The kitchen appliances are excellent. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful when we spoke to them and helpful and apologetic when we encountered a problem. I did receive a text saying that a noise complaint had been made and we should be quieter. As an elderly couple, we were rather surprised and thought a mistake must have been made so did not pursue the matter and heard nothing further. We stayed for Christmas and New Year, which we thoroughly enjoyed in Madeira.

Supergute Lage, um Funchal mit seiner Altstadt zu Fuß zu erkunden, nahe der Seilbahn, nahe zahlreicher Bars und Restaurants. The apartment at the 5th floor has a great view overlooking the coast, having breakfast at the balcony was a nice treat everyday. The orientation of the apartment leaves it most of the day without direct sun which improves the temperature at the apartment, so you can come from the very hot street to a much cooler apartment. With windows on both sides it is easy to have air flow for many hours. Sometimes it may still a bit warm inside but the windows help. Gladly in this summer (2024) there weren't any mosquitos so sleeping with windows open were possible. It is possible to go to the center walking in a very short distance. There is a very large supermarket nearby (Anadia Shopping) with Pingo Doce which is very much complete and better than the one in my city :D
The way to collect the garage opener is not friendly, as there are no parking spaces outside it is quite inconvenient to go up the apartment to get the control and then open the garage, you are unaware how it all works the explanation was not as clear and not facilitated (and I speak Portuguese). Lacking airco is a minus point, although well ventilated and well shaded, it could have an airco.

Location of appartment is just perfect for all you can need and visit in Funchal. It is spacy, clean and modern appartment. Living room, kitchen and bath are great. View to ocean is amazing. Really big bonus especially in Madeira is big and comfort parking place. I really recommend this app in Funchal.
Sleeping in living room is not very quiet as you can hear few dogs barking every night. Anyway if you sleep well it is not problem. You will not meet your host so it is completely anonymous stay - anyway it is not a problem, it is just a new way of accomodation.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Wohnung, der Umgebung und der gesamten Abwicklung mit dem Vermieter.
Da ein Fußballfeld nicht weit weg von der Wohnung ist, muss man sich daran gewöhnen, dass fast jeden Abend bis spät abends (ca. 23.30 Uhr) Fußball gespielt wird.
Das Schließen der Fenster hat aber geholfen, den Lärm draußen zu lassen.

Très jolie vue sur la mer, terrasse très sympa.
Parking appréciable pour garer la voiture.
Un peu excentré du centre ville en revanche et les bruits de travaux et de chien durant la nuit peuvent être un problème si vous avez le sommeil léger.

I don't like leaving negative reviews, especially when the problem is outside the control of the apartment owner. However, this is a very noisy neighbourhood with dogs barking most of the day and night. Sleep was so difficult I tried to find alternative accommodation at one point, just to try and guarantee some sleep. There is a lot of building work occurring leading to constant drilling through the rock of Madeira, however you can get away from that noise during the day by visiting this stunning island. But the dogs barking was torture. Sadly we cannot recommend this location.

El apartamento es muy céntrico, con muy buenas vistas, nuevo y limpio. tuvimos la mala suerte que el ascensor no funcionaba y eso fue muy fatigoso para nosotros con un bebe y su carrito subir 4 plantas mas añadidas las cuestas de Funchal, Nos hicieron un pequeño reembolso ya que lo solicitamos, también muy amablemente a la semana no hicieron un cambio de sábanas y toallas con limpieza.

This apartment is clean, spacious and adequately equipped. It is on the 5th Floor via a lift or stairs. Location for Funchal is excellent, being out of the main tourist areas, yet only a 10 minute walk to the Old Town. The two balconies offer superb views over the ocean and to the harbour. Watching the cruise ships come go is endlessly fascinating. In the evening, there is a fine sunset to the West. Free car parking on site is a huge bonus in the congested and narrow streets of Funchal.

We stayed at this property in Funchal for 4 days. The pictures shown were accurate, and we loved the view from the fifth floor. The apartment was well-outfitted, with a small kitchen and a even a washing machine which we did use. There was no AC (unless it was there and we didn't see it), but that didn't bother us. We did find a small creature that resembled a salamander in the corner of the apartment on the first day, but this didn't bother us either. This little one must have come in from an open window perhaps with the last guest. We didn't see it again after the first day. Overall a great value apartment and we would return again.

Die Aussicht der Wohnung ist unschlagbar und wir haben diese sehr genossen von dem etwas kleinen Balkon. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und hatte bis auf die Küchenausstattung alles, was wir brauchten.
Der Sportplatz unterhalb hat uns nicht so gestört, obwohl dort gefühlt 24/7 Fussball gespielt wird. Richtig gestört hat uns das permanente Hundegebell beim Nachbarn, auch früh morgens um 5.
Top Parkplatz, was in Funchal schon ein echter Mehrwert ist.

Traumhafte Lage mit Blick über den Hafen. Etwas höher gelegen, das heißt zu Fuß immer bergauf, man sollte gut zu Fuß sein, oder mit dem Auto total enge Gassen, man sollte gut fahren können und nicht ängstlich sein. Sehr schön eingerichtet, genug Platz, bis aufs Bad. Aber da ist man ja nicht lange.
Guter Parkplatz, nicht selbstverständlich in Funchal.
Das ständige Gebelle der Hunde der Nachbarn. Teilweise schon um 5 Uhr morgens, und das dann ohne Pause.
Der Sportplatz unterhalb hat uns nicht so gestört, aber da wird 24/7 Fußball gespielt und entsprechend angefeuert.
Küchenausstattung sehr spartanisch. Wer da wirklich kochen möchte muss viel improvisieren.

Abrir la ventana por la mañana y encontrarme con unas vistas tan maravillosas. Apartamento muy cuidado, se nota en sus puertas que el piso es antiguo, pero tratan de tener todo nuevo y cuidado al mínimo detalle, haciéndolo muy acogedor.
La limpieza la marcaron para lunes y no se realizó, tuvimos que esperar un día más sin conocer motivos, eso si, la atención del personal y su resolución ante el problema de 10. El martes todo estaba perfecto (toallas nuevas, cambio de sábanas, suelo impecable…) excepto la terraza sin limpiar.

A lovely, bright, spacious modern apartment in a perfect location in Funchal, with fabulous views over the city and the sea as it is on the top floor of a five floor apartment block (there is a small lift that will bring you up to the top floor).
The building is very easy to find, away from the busy roads in a quieter, residential part of town, but not far at all from the main attractions and restaurants. It is just a five minute walk from the cable car, main bus station, waterfront, Zona Velha and Mercado dos Lavradores. In fact you can watch the cable car (as well as youngsters playing football in the school pitch below - you may even spot the next Ronaldo!) whilst enjoying the evening sunshine from the larger of the two balconies.
I was surprised to find that on my second day, a cleaner had been in the apartment whilst I was out for the afternoon. This was not a service that I was aware came with the property as it wasn't listed at the time of booking, and it is not what I expect nor really want during an Airbnb stay. I contacted the owners who quickly arranged for the cleaner not to come again until the end of my stay. It wasn't because the cleaner had done a bad job. Far from it! I just didn't find it necessary to have new towels everyday and the washing up done for me.
Regardless, I would certainly recommend this apartment for single travellers, couples, or a small family (there is one large bed in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living area). But, maybe contact the owners beforehand if, like me, you would rather a home-from-home and not a hotel experience, and ask for the cleaner not to come until your stay is over. If however, that doesn't bother you, then simply enjoy your stay here.

Property was equipped with all essentials needed for the stay (such as washing liquid, shower gel, shopping bag). We have really enjoyed our stay. The view was lovely especially at night. We did like having two balconies and we have spend every evening there talking and enjoying the wives.
The floor was not cleaned very well. Our socks and feet were black from the dirty floor so we had to clean it ourselves.

I didn't like that I had to use another platform than Airbnb to check in & check out - I didn't like that I was asked private information that isn't required for me to book an apartment via Airbnb.
I get it, they want you to use their platform because they get extra income by selling you additional services - but the added value of the platform isn't there.

Das Appartement liegt sehr zentral und trotzdem ruhig. Man ist sehr schnell am Hafen und in der Innenstadt. Die Einrichtung ist hübsch, man kann sich wohlfühlen. Das Haus hat 5 Etagen, das Appartement liegt ganz oben und bietet einen traumhaften Blick auf das Meer und die Stadt. Die durchgeführte Zwischenreinigung ist besonders hervorzuheben. Es wurden auch Handtücher und Bettwäsche gewechselt. Im Haus befindet sich eine Bäckerei, die leckere Backwaren zu sehr kleinen Preisen bietet. Ein Parkplatz steht hinter dem Haus zur Verfügung, was in Funchal ein großes Plus ist.
Die Wohnung ist mit 100 qm angegeben, was absolut nicht zutrifft. Wir schätzen auf ca. 70 qm. Das Bad geht direkt vom Wohnzimmer ab, was gewöhnungsbedürftig ist. In der Küche hatten wir bei der Ankunft 1 ganze und 1 angeschlagene Kaffeetasse. Nach Reklamation bekamen wir immerhin noch 3 zusätzliche Tassen. Ein bisschen spartanisch bei 2 Personen und keiner Geschirrspülmaschine. Ansonsten war alles Notwendige an Küchenausstattung vorhanden.

Kontakt z obsługą apartamentu był słaby. Nie można było się dodzwonić, otrzymaliśmy błędne i niepełne informacje na starcie, co nam skomplikowało dwa wieczory, kiedy chcieliśmy odpocząć po wycieńczających aktywnościach...Apartament jest fajny, natomiast na ocenę wpływa słaby kontakt z osobami zarządzającymi obiektem.

Die Wohnung ist wirklich toll - nett eingerichtet, alles dabei, super gelgen und mit einem Privaten Parkplatz! Alles wirklich sehr gut! Aber es gibt zwei Dinge die hier extrem stören; erstens die Hunde in der Umgebung. Sie bellen teilweise durchgehend und dann auch Nachts. Zweitens die Lautstärke von draußen. Die vorbeifahrenden Autos und Scooter sind schon extrem zu hören und am Wochenende lärmen die Jugendlichen - und man ist bei allem fast live dabei. Das nervt. Man muss also unterscheiden: Eine echt tolle, super gelegene Wohnung mit einem tollen Ausblick und dem Aleinstellungsmerkmal eines Parkplatzes und auf der anderen Seite der Lärm. Also auf jeden Fall was mitnehmen, was man in/auf die Ohren tun kann!!!

Tolle Lage, keine 5 Gehminuten von der Zona Velha (Altstadt) entfernt. die Sicht vom Balkon ist phänomenal: Seilbahn, Kathedrale, Hafen... man hat alles im Blick.
Die Einrichtung ist modern, die Küche gut ausgestattet, Waschküche mit Möglichkeit zum Wäsche aufhängen ist vorhanden, mit Parkplatz im privaten Innenhof. Rundum zufrieden.

A localização é excelente.
A vista é espetacular.
O estacionamento privativo foi uma mais valia.
O número do apartamento está mal identificado nos serviços de GPS mais comuns, o que tornou difícil no inicio encontrar o mesmo de carro. Isto é um problema que não está diretamente relacionado com o apartamento ou com os serviços prestados.
O muro da varanda é muito baixo, o que se torna um pouco assustador para quem não está habituado às alturas.

Es war alles sauber und funktionstüchtig.

The experience overall during our stay, of 8 nights, at Alegria i was very pleasant: the space was very nice, super clean and comfortable. There was the housecleaning services in the middle of the stay which were very helpful as well! Location was perfect.
Towards the end of our stay there were two cockroaches that appeared in the balcony of the flat - they must have come from the balcony, through a kind of water sewage there is there but we understand that this is not that unusual with the hot weather/proximity to the sea. In any case, the hosts offered to check for availabilities of other flats in case we would like to change.

We spent a wonderfull holiday in Madeira. Our apartment "An Island Apart" was located near the historical part of Funchal and close to the supermarket. The building has a private parking! Alegria also prepared our transport from the airport, because we arrived late in night, and recommended perfect car rental. The best service!!!

The apartment is spacious, well maintained and equipped with the things you need. However, one misses some utensils. Other apartments provide, for example, dishwashers, paper towels and coffee filters or these things are left to the previous tenant. That was missing here. On the other hand, the internet connection was very fast and reliable and the apartment was clean except for a few ants.

Unfortunately, a big disadvantage prevails: the apartment is located between two noisy streets, one of which is not far from the balconies. You can hear the traffic very strongly, especially buses and the loud motorcycles, but also the many cars. You can not sit comfortably on the balcony and you wake up from the noise even at night.

And as in many corners of Madeira there are many barking dogs. But that's how it is.

Beautiful and large apartment, highlight would definitely be the two balconies facing the ocean and the spacious shower. It's also really nicely furnished with a modern style and it just takes a few minutes to walk into the old town and to the promenade. There are lots of (stray) dogs around the area, who bark throughout day and night, so I'd recommend using earplugs to sleep. Other than that, totally felt at home and would come back!

The place is beautiful, in perfect location. Everything that is worth seeing in Funchal is nearby the apartment.
Apartment is very comfy and very clean. I would recommend go there to my friends.
There is private parking lot which is perfect if you are renting a car.

We had the best time here. The apartment is in a quiet location, not too far from a large supermarket which has everything you need. The coastal views from the balcony were amazing too, especially at sunset.

Whilst we did not hire a car during our stay, there is a secure, private car park available for use.

We had a wonderful time in Madère. My girlfriend and I absolutely loved it!
Everything was really clean and confortable. It was so nice having a washing machine, an oven, a boiler and all. The appartement is very well equipped with also a car park which is really useful. We even had lunch boxes to bring during our walks and excursions.
We won't hesitate recommending this place to friends and family.

The apartment was super stylish and clean. The location was fantastic and within easy walking distance from Funchal centre and the Old Town. The two balconies are much welcome and offer spectacular views of the surrounding area and the bay. Recommend!

Appartement très bien agencé et propre ( le plus = une place de parking )
Service à l arrivée impeccable
Il y a un petit snack au pied de l immeuble a des prix très abordable pour le café ou petit déjeuner
Les premiers restaurants à 5mn à pied
L appartement est en tout point conforme à l annonce et nos attentes, le seul bémol, car il y en a un, est le bruit la nuit....
En effet il y a des chiens qui aboient quasiment toute la nuit, mais cela doit faire partie du folklore car personne de dis jamais rien.
Pour ceux qui n ont pas le sommeil fragile, je recommande l appartement

Sehr schönes Apartment mit moderner und schicker Einrichtung. Bei unserer Ankunft war alles sehr sauber. Der Blick von den beiden Balkonen in Richtung Meer und Hafen ist traumhaft - sowohl bei Tag als auch bei Nacht. Die Wohnung ist in der obersten Etage eines Wohnhauses ; grundsätzlich war es ruhig und sehr angenehm. Zu Fuß in 5-10 Minuten in der Altstadt und der eigene Parkplatz in Funchal Gold wert. Absolut zu empfehlen!

Beautifully equipped apartment with great views of the harbour and the cable cars. Handy for shops, large supermarket about 10 minutes walk away and much closer a cafe on ground floor with excellent bread rolls and croissants . Apartment felt very safe. Small kitchen well equipped (even a teapot, for us English folk!) Large shower was very welcome after long walks. Easy parking. Host very helpful. Would happily come here again.

Very comfortable, warm clean stylish flat, with private off road parking. Stunning views of the harbour, and the local sports pitch, from 2 balconies which catch the sun from mid morning onwards in January. Handily located for the old town with all its restaurants and bars, as well as being within easy walking distance of the town centre, and promenade. Some maintenance issues; Front door does not dead lock, it only latches closed as it has clearly suffered damage in the past, also the patio doors do not lock either, which should hopefully be sorted out before the next guests arrive.
Some road and barking dog noise at night but only occasionally. Overall a good place for a relaxing stay.

Frisch renovierte Unterkunft in einem Appartementgebäude im Herzen Funchals. Die Wohnung liegt im 5. Stockwerk und man hat einen herrlichen Blick über den Hafen. Alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, die Altstadt mit ihren Restaurants, die City und die Busstationen sind in 10 Minuten zu erlaufen. Die Wohnung war sauber und gut eingerichtet. Der Kontakt mit dem Gastgeber verlief professionell. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

This place is delicious, having breakfast with the view on all Funchal has no price!
Apartment was perfectly clean and with everything you need to cook your own dinner. Parking place was a must for us.

Wonderful company - this ensures that they have a team dedicated to reply your messages and manage any problems you face in your stay. The hot water didn’t work on the first night and after we messaged them regarding it, they came and checked the following day, but did not manage to resolve it. On the second day, they changed the water heater and the issue was resolved.
The view from the living room is AMAZING. Both in the day and at night, and that’s probably my favourite part of my stay. The kitchen is also very well equipped with cooking equipment.
The apartment is located about a 7 min walk from the supermarket in the city centre and if you are not driving, closely situated to a few bus stops with connections to the main bus station. If you plan to drive, they also have a dedicated parking lot for you. They work with a local taxi company, from which you can book airport transfers that are cheaper than taxis at the airport, as well as a local car rental company, which you can consider.
There is also a washing machine and space to dry your wet clothes. Shampoo was not provided so do bring your own.
Overall, a highly recommended place to stay!

I don't even know where to start. This place was more than perfect, it was a dream! The location was close to the old center, and the view from the flat was amazing! Every day we admired the sea and the cruise ships that were coming almost every day.

We stayed for 2 weeks and we felt like at home, so we were very sad to leave.

We really recommend staying here, and we will definitely come back again someday.

Perfect place to stay in Funchal! Close to the old town and away from the accommodations and hotels where the majority of holiday makers seem to congregate. The flat is fully equipped with anything you may need, including a few thoughtful touches such as olive oil, vinegar and coffee. Spectacular views from the two balconies!

I suspect I was the first guest in the apartment after a refurb so everything was immaculate. Everything you would need was there as it was very well equipped. The location was great It was only a ten minute walk to the centre of town and also to the restaurant area. The building is situated just where the hilly area starts so although there was an incline to get up from sea level it was very manageable. The view over the town was amazing. There is a wee cafe at the base of the block of flats which was handy for breakfast and very cheap, coffee and omelette roll €2.60. I really couldn't fault anything. I had arranged through the company to be picked up at the airport on arrival and when we got there a company rep was there to meet me. On the return journey I got the airport bus to the airport from a stop which was only a short, downhill walk away.
I found everything to be great, I can't think of a single thing that was missing except a large gin glass, lol.
