Que diriez-vous de passer des vacances dans une maison de campagne tout en étant très proche de la ville et de toutes les activités touristiques ?
Alors qu'au centre, les gens vivent une vie urbaine normale et rapide, dans les zones élevées, près des montagnes, le calme et l'atmosphère de la campagne sont une réalité. Dans cette petite villa composée de trois belles propriétés, vous pourrez profiter du calme et de la sérénité avec une vue imprenable sur l'océan Atlantique et Funchal.
Cette petite "ferme" est composée de trois maisons aux murs de pierre, de typologies différentes et entourées de petits jardins. Les maisons portent le nom d'arbres présents sur notre île.
Cette maison dispose d'une chambre avec deux lits simples, d'une salle de bain avec douche.
La maison dispose d'une kitchenette entièrement équipée.
Capacité maximale de deux personnes.
VUE D'ENSEMBLE DU QUARTIER
Dans le quartier de Choupana, vous trouverez un restaurant à 2 minutes en voiture de la propriété. La boulangerie la plus proche est à 5 minutes en voiture et le supermarché est à 10 minutes en voiture, près du centre-ville.
Le centre-ville est à 15 minutes en voiture.
Le quartier est calme et tranquille. De là, vous pouvez vous rendre dans n'importe quelle partie de l'île en empruntant les routes municipales qui sont reliées à l'autoroute.
La location d'une voiture est la meilleure option pour découvrir l'île à votre rythme.
SE RENDRE DANS LA PROPRIÉTÉ
La meilleure option pour se rendre dans la propriété est le transfert. Demandez-nous d'en organiser un avec nos partenaires locaux. C'est moins cher que les taxis que vous trouverez à l'aéroport. Si vous louez une voiture, n'importe quelle application de navigation trouvera facilement l'adresse.

- Les services de nettoyage pendant le séjour, ainsi que le remplacement des draps, des serviettes et des consommables, sont effectués sur une base hebdomadaire. Si vous souhaitez un service de nettoyage supplémentaire, il est possible de l'organiser moyennant un supplément abordable. Le nettoyage hebdomadaire et le remplacement des draps, des serviettes et des consommables ne sont pas effectués pour les séjours de moins de sept nuits.
ATTENTION
Veuillez noter qu'une taxe touristique sera facturée à toutes les personnes qui passent la nuit dans la municipalité de Funchal. Ainsi, tous les clients séjournant dans des stations touristiques et/ou des établissements d'hébergement, âgés de 13 ans ou plus, devront payer 2,00 € par personne/nuit, jusqu'à un maximum de 7 nuits et un maximum de 14,00 € par personne/séjour. Pour la monter au logement préférez les routes en lacets elles seront beaucoup plus agréables pour accéder au logement : Caminho dos Pretos et Estrada da boa nova et la monte sera tranquille.

The manual/instructions could use some updating. Missing coffee making essentials. Couldn’t get the stove top to work. Fire place unusable due to one missing brick in the floor. A warning about how steep the roads are getting there and how far it is from restaurants/groceries stores would have guests better prepared on arrival.

It felt like living inside a botanical garden.
A little tip:
Don’t just trust google maps - it leads you up very steep roads
Instead use ER201 (Caminho dos Pretos) - takes about 3 minutes more, but you‘ll reach your destination much more relaxed :)
Would definitely come here again!

A few small things like no ironing board (there js one listed) so had to ask for one to be delivered. Small things like no bin bags provided (even though you can’t flush toilet roll so need them). No information provided regarding how difficult it is to get a taxi back in the evening - twice a taxi from town couldn’t make it all the way back due to steep roads so we had to get out early and walk up steep hills in the dark. Could be much better information about this

Leider war die Unterkunft bei unserer Ankunft stark verschmutzt, es befanden sich Flecken und Haare in den Bettlaken, schwarzer Schimmel im Bad und Staub und Spinnenweben überall.
Die Vermieter haben kurzfristig auf unsere Nachricht geantwortet und sind uns entgegengenommen, da wir die Unterkunft nach der ersten Nacht sofort wieder verlassen und unseren Aufenthalt abgebrochen haben.
In sauberem Zustand wäre die Unterkunft aufgrund ihrer Aussicht und der ruhigen Umgebung zu empfehlen. Allerdings sollte man sich bezüglich der Anfahrt wohlfühlen in steilem Gelände auf schmalen Straßen mit dem Auto zu rangieren und anzufahren. Darüber hinaus sollte man sich versichern, dass das Mietauto über genügend PS verfügt um die Steigung meistern zu können.

In addition to being clearly exaggerated, an agreement was reached and the resolution was satisfactory. Our goal is to ensure that our guests have a positive and enjoyable experience, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. It was difficult to get to and a lot of the bushes were overgrown, which made it difficult to drive without concerns of scratching the rental car.
Unfortunately there were unclear/no instructions regarding the gate to the entrance of the property. We were locked out after coming back from dinner and the maintenance team took over an hour to come and assist. (Prior to this we were able to come/go by conveniently driving behind another guest in the air BNB complex)

As was informed, once our team arrived at the property, the gate wasn't locked and you'd the remote on your hands, just didn't use it to open it. Instructions are always on the guest area of our guests. As you can understand, when information is given and not read, it's difficult to manage with all the guests. However a few things made this trip less than great for us.
Firstly, the house is right at the very very top of Funchal so is a bit of a nightmare to reach from both the town itself and also from the motorway which is where you need to be for any kind of route around Madeira. Incredibly steep roads (1st gear most of the way!) Not at all possible to walk into town - way too long and super steep.
Secondly during the heat of the day (lunchtime) there were masses of lizards on the terrace ...over friendly lizards who climbed onto the table via chairs/table legs/our legs! Got a bit fed up with them.
Thirdly, and VERY importantly the access into the house was only with a key - ie no handle. Also no means of putting the door on the latch. We hadn't sussed this on the first night and so we got locked out as we shut the door when on the terrace. Had to sleep on the neighbours' sun beds....

As you can understand, somethings are out of our control, such as animals and steep roads which are part of our island.
For the security of our guests, we don't leave a handle and to get inside of the property is normally with a key. We've several ways to be contacted by our guests and all of them are informed by it before arrival.

Only point to keep in mind: take a rental car and don’t follow Google Maps. Use the twisting road instead of the straight one. If using the straight road, first gear all the way is your best friend! Bolts are easy to go to the house but can be difficult to go back down to the city. But honestly possible without rental car.

It seems this should only be for making money, no investments have been done since years.
Other guests already complained about poor kitchen equipment but nothing was changed.
I would definitely not recommend staying here!!

Wir hatten uns gefreut, selber kochen zu können. Die Ausstattung der Küche lässt dies jedoch nicht zu, da alles sehr alt und unsauber ist. Es gibt z.B. nur 2 Messer, was bereits in Kommentaren vor einigen Jahren angemerkt wurde. Man möchte dort am liebsten nichts benutzen.
Im Bad ist Schimmel, der scheinbar immer nur überstrichen wurde.
Generell ist das Haus viel zu teuer für das was man bekommt, es scheint hier wird nur Geld gemacht und NICHTS investiert. Man könnte es mit kleinen Mitteln gut aufwerten.
Die Lage ist sehr weit oben am Berg, sehr steile Straßen. Wir hatten nie einen Ausblick, immer nur Nebel so dass man nichts sehen konnte. Weiter unten schien meist die Sonne.
Dafür liegt es schön im Grünen, man hat seine Ruhe.
Wir würden nicht wiederkommen und es auch nicht empfehlen!

Anbindung per Bus nach Funchal ist gut, 7 Minuten zu Fuß über eine Treppe zur Haltestelle. Bus fährt alle 30 bis 120 Minuten. Zugang zu zwei Levadas (Richtung Monte bzw. Camacha/Palheiro Gardens) fußläufig in der Nähe. 20-Minuten-Spaziergang zum Restaurant Alta Vista (bergauf/bergab).
Insgesamt ein sehr erholsamer, ruhiger, autofreier Urlaub.

well inside it is a bit stuff, would probably need some renovation, the smell in the bathroom is horrible. everything is very dusty. even though the host helped us with stuck locker i think these things should be checked before guests arrival.

Overall we had a lovely stay, the house had everything we needed to make simple dinners and breakfasts. It was good place to wind out after day of exploring the island.
Few things to note: the weather is cooler up in the montains than in Funchal, so have a something warm to use in the evenings. To avoid those steep uphills (that others have mentioned) use a route through the stadion.

Kookgelegenheid was 1 kookpit, de andere had geen bedieningsknop. Er werd beschreven dat er een afwasmachine aanwezig is, maar toen wij het huisje zagen leek dat al niet reëel. Dat klopt ook, er was geen. Nou vinden we dat niet zo`n punt, maar vermeld het dan ook niet. Met 1 kookpit en geen gelegenheid om uit eten te gaan was het erg behelpen.
Op de bedden lag je op de veren, dus deze zijn aan vervanging toe.
Een fles water als welkom is wel het minste wat aanwezig mag zijn op deze afgelegen plek en je arriveert zo vanuit de vlieghaven.
We vroegen om een andere lokatie, daar werd heel welwillend in gedaan, alleraardigste dame die ons daarbij heel voorkomend hielp, echter toen we bijna vertrokken naar een ander appartement zou hij ineens volgeboekt zijn.
Kortom nee we komen hier niet weer terug en kunnen helaas ook niet deze quinta adviseren aan anderen.
(NB:we hebben zelf een andere lokatie naar tevredenheid gevonden)

Emplacement un peu difficile à trouver en pleine nuit.
Une fois rentré sur le domaine, nous n'avons pas pu trouvé notre maison, il faisait nuit (23h30)
Nous avons donc cherché la maison du propriétaire et c'est lui qui nous a emmené à notre maison.
Merci encore infiniment pour sa gentillesse.
Il serait peut être bien d'allumer la maison avant l' arrivée prévue ou d'expliquer comment la trouver dans la propriété.

Il vaut mieux être dans ce logement quand il fait beau pour pouvoir profiter de l'extérieur trés agréable. A l'intérieur, c'est un peu sombre, et il manque un peu de vaisselle.

All in all, would definitely recommend this place if you enjoy nature and peace of mind. It's a beautiful rustic place and you can discover a lot of nice hiking trails from there. Thanks again for having us!

Service katastrophe.
Notrufnummer vom Anbieter wird nicht beantwortet, jrgendwann ruft mal jemand zurück. Oder es nimmt jemand ab der gerade Dienst hat und erklährt einem das er jetzt gerade keine Zeit hat ( hintergrund musik,lärm alls wenn er in einer Bar währe)
Haus bei ankunft unbeheizt..Nach mehreren anrufen ..am nächsten (!) Abend wurde dann geheitzt..
Das Haus stinkt nach feuchte weil sie es kalt lassen wenn niemand da ist
Älteres Häuschen, zerissenes Geschirrtuch,(neues gekauft,beim nächsten putzen der Putzfrau wurde es wieder getauscht mit einem zerrissenem ausgefransten,
Küche zum teil defekt,wird nichts repariert,ausstattung miserabel.Es wird gar nicht geschaut was der Mieter selbst besorgt)
Völlig überteuert. Man merkt richtig ..nur noch Geld machen sollange noch Mieter kommen..aber sonst wird absolut nichts gemacht.
Haustüre defekt! Wenn der Schlüssel im Haus ist und Türe schliesst, kein reinkommen mehr möglich da Türschliessknopf defekt.
Wir hatten weitere 3 unterkünfte auf Madeira und keine wahr so teuer und so miserabel . Völlig überteuert.
Das Mietauto wird zerkratzt von dem Pflanzen da alles in die Stassen reinwächst. Schöner Garten aber es artet zur verwilderung aus. Wir sind liebhaber der wilden Natur, aber dies ist nur noch verwildern lassen weill es sonst etwas kostet ein wenig dazu zu schauen.
Wir kommen nie wieder.

As in many other places on the island, prepare for a steep way up to reach the property! We would have liked to receive a few info upon arrival (e.g. closest supermarket and pharmacy, recycling, emergency numbers on the island, etc.).

Küche und Bad sind aber etwas veraltet und benötigen ein kleines Upgrade. Dennoch findet man beinahe alles was man so braucht. Generell aber eher spartanisch.
Wir haben es dort sehr genossen.

Attention toutefois pour ceux pas à l'aise avec le volant car la route pour y accéder monte sacrement et est assez étroite. Ceci étant l'emplacement est très bon car proche du centre ville (environ 15 minutes) mais dans une atmosphère de montagne. Je recommande !!!

- There is no sea view or Funchal view from the house, you had to move to another area of the property to see Funchal or the Sea. For me the pictures shown of the house with the Funchal and sea view are misleading. You can't expect me to spend the morning under the sun in another area of the property to have breakfast, lunch, dinner or check my mail with my laptop, just to have a nice view
- Vegetation is so out of control in the property that is difficult to move with the car or even walking, in the porch you don't have any view except the vegetation that sorrounds the house
- No indications the get to the house the first day, except google that sends you to a street 45º of inclination, with a part that can't be followed up hill, no previous help to recommend a better way by the property.
- The kitchen elements are at the minimum minimum, 3 coffee spoons, 3 coffee cups, few dishes, we had to spent most time washing dishes just to breakfast and lunch.
- The chairs in the living room are loosen and disassemble after a couple of hours.
- Cleaning is not correct, spider webs in the ceiling, in bedside table, etc.
- Cleaning service, came once during our stay without announcing, they spent less than 10 minutes in the house and did not clean anything.
- First day, just one additional roll of toylet paper, is not supposed to be responsability of the property to provide it for all the days?
- No indicationsto get to the house the first day: key locker is not marked with the name of the house, no indications inside the property to get to the house, so we had to visit every house until we found Cedro.
- House for two but only on lounge chair to take the sun under the house mini-garden
- Too many small objects, pillows, and decoration in the tables of the house for a so limited space, we had to remove everything to have some free space.

Indications are always sent by e-mail, and also our phone contact, for case of any question to find the place.
The intermediate cleaning includes the exchange of bed linen and towels.

A nossa estadia foi de 10 dias e quando chegámos detectámos que eram necessárias algumas reparações. Garantiram-nos que as fariam no dia seguinte. Contudo ficámos desapontados pois a grande maioria das reparações foi agendada para o dia da nossa saída, sem qualquer tipo de aviso prévio ou comunicação.

Es ist ein kleines Haus mit gerade dem nötigsten was man so braucht. Wir waren nur zum kochen und schlafen innen, sonst haben wir viel Zeit auf der wunderschönen Terrasse verbracht. Das gesamte Grundstück ist sehr gepflegt und wird regelmäßig von Gärtnern versorgt.
Nachts kann es hier schon recht kühl werden.
Die Häuser werden von einer Serviceagentur betreut. Ist zwar nicht sehr persönlich (Kontakt per SMS wenn man etwas braucht), aber es hat alles gut geklappt.
Wir hätten uns mehr Geschirrtücher zum wechseln gewünscht und die Küchenausstattung ist recht knapp bemessen. Außerdem gibt es kaum Infos zur Umgebung, das findet man dann jedoch selbst schnell raus.
Waren mit Baby in der Unterkunft. Auf Nachfrage wurden uns Hochstuhl und Babybadewanne am nächsten Morgen gebracht.
Bis in die Innenstadt ist es ein ganzes Stück. Nur mit dem Auto zu erreichen, das sollte einem bewusst sein.
Und die Straßen in Funchal sind unfassbar steil! Wir haben einige Tage gebraucht um eine gute Route zur Unterkunft zu finden (Gmaps ist in Funchal nicht ideal).
Von uns eine absolute Empfehlung für entspannte Tage in der Natur!

We slept in the one-bedroom villa (Cedro) and the kitchen & bathroom were maybe a little outdated, but in general still a very cosy house. The other houses (like the Nogueira) seemed to be even more cosy, with better ocean views.

When arriving use exit 13 from highway and drive on the upper side of the fotball station. That road is straighforward. We used the same route for shopping in Camacha a shoppingsenter. That is close and has a straighforward route.
The direct straight road to the botanical garden is the steepest in Maderira. Skip that. It is also only one way part of it.
This cottage has all you need. Bring the morning cup of coffe to the "chairs" 15 m west of the cottage. The view of the city is stunning. And mind calming. Dont miss!
You can enjoy the sun outside the door. You stay in a sort of botanical garden, and this cottage (one of 3) has privacy.
7 minutes to bus 29 west of house. Ca evry hour and 2euro.
We used uber for return from city. Ca 8 to 13 euro.
Negative: once or twice a day some dogs a few hundred meters away had a barking session. Else it was relaxing silence here. The door handle need to be changed so that you can reenter if the wind close the door and you are outside. Then you need the key..... Stupid arrangement. 2knifes is too few. Double please.
We will stay here for the future!

There were no instructions for recycling, or information about footpaths. The room was very warm. The beds were quite hard.
