Spacious, modern-style house with a cosy atmosphere, three bedrooms, barbecue, jacuzzi and sea views, ideal for family holidays or a group of friends. Located in a quiet area on the south coast of Madeira Island.
Located on the south coast of Madeira Island, Casa da Quinta Grande, in Câmara de Lobos, has three bedrooms, two of them with comfortable double beds and the third with a versatile single bed that can easily be converted into another double bed, and has enough space to accommodate the whole family or a group of friends. In addition to the comfortable bedrooms, the house offers two modern full bathrooms, both equipped with a shower.
Outside, a large space that stretches around the property provides plenty of opportunities to take advantage of the sunny climate, as well as enjoy the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. There is also a barbecue available for those who wish to prepare meals outdoors, while the jacuzzi invites you to relax and enjoy an invigorating moment while admiring the coastal scenery.
Car parking is a guaranteed convenience, with space available in the backyard of the property, offering practicality and security for guests arriving by car.
This accommodation has WI-FI in all areas.
AREA
The house is located on the south coast of Madeira Island, more specifically in the parish of Quinta Grande, in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos. Make the most of your stay and explore the area! Take in the views by visiting the Fajã dos Padres viewpoint, accessible via a cable car that connects to a small paradise beach, a restaurant and several holiday homes.
There are other attractions nearby, such as Ilha das Aves, about 9 minutes by car from the property, or the Cabo Girão viewpoint, about 7 minutes away.
In the neighbourhood you'll find other points of interest such as "A Venda do André", a place that carries on the history of Madeira's old grocery stores and where an average of 200 to 500 ponchas are sold every weekend.
The centre of Câmara de Lobos is about 10 minutes away. In the town centre you can also find various essential services, pharmacies, supermarkets, the Market, the Henriques&Henriques Winery, the Press Museum and typical fish and meat restaurants.
The city of Funchal is about 25 minutes away by car.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Alles war wunderbar. Meine Verlobte und ich sind in unseren zwei Großmütter gereist und hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr hoch auf einem Berg. Die Anfahrt hat uns beim ersten Mal geschockt, aber schon beim zweiten Mal haben wir den steilen Berg sehr genossen.

Really nice and cosy place, jacuzzi is such an "icing on the cake" kind of feature - very useful after a long day

- Wie auch von anderen beschrieben ging die Alarmanlage 2x während 1 Woche nachts an. Vermieter war nicht erreichbar, am nächsten Tag hieß es nach mehrfacher Nachfrage es sei behoben, was offensichtlich nicht stimmte. Des Weiteren wurde uns trotz Nachfrage keine Möglichkeit zur Deaktivierung gegeben, so dass man 20 Minuten Lärm nachts aushalten musste.

- 3. Zimmer bei 6 P. Sehr klein, Ausziehbett

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette maison. Propre, ayant tout le nécessaire et le jacuzzi est un vrai plus. Nous recommandons le petit bar à proximité qui sert de très bonnes ponchas.

The apartment was reasonable. It had a lovely view and was a good location. The bbq facilities were great and the hot tub was great when working. However, there were a few issues. The house alarm went off in the middle of the night 2 nights in a row and on the last day. Whilst we appreciate this was looked at promptly and were informed it was due to a faulty sensor, the issue does not seem to be resolved. The apartment could do with some air con and ventilation. There was a lot of dampness.
We also experienced the hot tub cutting out a few times. The neighbours dogs are very noisy too. In addition although it says the property is for 6 people, the second single bed is a mattress on the floor rather than a proper bed.
Please note the hill to the property is very steep and you may struggle to get your car up there. There is parking at the bottom though, but you will need to walk up which is a struggle if you have a lot of luggage.
We also experienced the hot tub cutting out a few times. The neighbours dogs are very noisy too. In addition although it says the property is for 6 people, the second single bed is a mattress on the floor rather than a proper bed.

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans ce logement! Au milieu de l’île, à 15 minutes de Funchal, très pratique pour faire des randonnes dans toute l’île. Le jaccuzi et la vue sont magnifiques et très agréables!
Point « faible »: le logement est humide, mais c’est le climat la haut. Nous avons pas réussi à faire fonctionner le sèche linge (marche mais ne chauffe pas)

L’accès à cette jolie maison est à l’image de la morphologie de Madère… ambitieux! Nous avons passé un très beau séjour en famille. Tout le confort nécessaire était disponible. Les couchés de soleil dans le jacuzzi un vrai plus!

The place offers great views to the sea, the jacuzzi is huge and clean. Barbeque area also very nice. The house is very big, was nice and clean and we could check in a bit early. We were only with two so we really enjoyed it. Couch in the living room was very comfy. We had some stormy and cloudy weather so the view was obstructed during those days, but that's Madeira's mountains in this season I guess. It's a nice house for a small group I would say. The location is quite strategic if you want to visit Madeira as it is closer to the main big roads. Next to the house there is a great place to try freshly made poncha (a venta do andre).

Sehr schöne, saubere Unterkunft mit traumhaften Ausblick! Whirlpool mit Sonnenuntergang ein echtes Highlight.
Die steile Anfahrt und die lauten, bellenden Hunde sind leider die einzigen Sachen die uns gestört haben, aber ansonsten war alles perfekt und super schön, sauber und angenehm!

We loved it, property is exactly as described, jacuzzi is very nice and the view is splendid !
Be prepared for a steep road to access the property but this is part of the Madeira experience!
A real bonus is the local grocery store, 100 meters from the house, where you can find a lot of things !

House is located outside the loudest and busy areas, approximately 30 min to the capital city by car. The villa itself is very spacious and clean. Nice outside kitchen with a barbecue area. We loved jacuzzi with a spectacular evening view from the upper side. We liked the location and a near local bar with traditional poncha, 10 min walking distance to the nearest shop with “fresh eggs”. Just be aware barking dogs of the nearby neighbour😉

La maison est très bien mise en valeur par les photos et l’annonce, mais la réalité est toute autre.
Rien de bien méchant en soit, mais ne vous attendez pas à ce que laisse imaginer l’annonce.
La vue n’a rien à voir avec celle que montre les photos, vous aurez droit à route, maisons voisines, et installations électriques au premier plan, l’océan est bien loin derrière et bien plus bas.
La voisinage comprends de nombreux chiens qui risquent de vous embêter a bien des reprises.
La maison est en hauteur, et à hauteur des nuages dans la majorité des cas, vous vous retrouverez donc très fréquemment dans la brume.
L’accessibilité est tout bonnement déplorable ! Au point de se demander si il était possible d’y accéder … tous les véhicules ne pourront pas y parvenir !
Notez aussi qu’il vous faudra faire la vaisselle à la maison pendant vos vacances, il faut le savoir.
Pour le reste, la maison offre globalement de bonnes prestations ! Les chambres sont confortables et spacieuses, les salles de bain agréables, et la barbecue plus tôt génial ! La spa est plaisant mais la brume rends son utilisation peu fréquente.
L’equipe est présente juste ce qu’il faut, ce qui est très agréable !
Pour conclure je dirais que le travail de mise en valeur est peut être un peu trop bien fait. Il faudrait que le tout soit plus transparent de sorte à ne pas avoir de déception une fois arrivé.

Huis is royaal , netjes en schoon. Je uitzicht is ook prima je kijkt vanaf de berg naar zee (vrij zicht ).
De locatie was even moeilijk te vinden omdat , zo leek het, we een soort geitenpaadje op moesten ( redelijk stijl ). Daar stonden vervolgens nog een drietal huizen waar gewoon mensen woonden, met honden die soms blaften, voor ons was dat geen bezwaar.
Parkeren kun je goed op straat of indien gewenst op een afgesloten eigen terrein. De mooie plus was de jacuzzi deze constant op 36 graden heerlijk. Vanaf deze locatie kun je makkelijk overal naar toe als je over een auto beschikt want die heb je sowieso nodig om het eiland goed en gemakkelijk te bezichtigen. Samenvattend je zit buitenaf, rustig, auto is een must, prima huisje voor 2 of 4 volwassenen en 1 á 2 kinderen met een mooi buiten terras aan de voorzijde als aan de achterzijde ( deze is ook overkapt met een barbecue en pizzaoven met een mooi werkblad incl afspoel mogelijkheid , ... Top )
Dus een ieder die graag op zichzelf is en de drukte zelf wel opzoekt is dit prima uitvalbasis.
Ohja er hadden ook nog een tussentijdse extra schoonmaak, mogelijk had dit te maken met het feit dat we een verblijf van 10 dagen hadden geboekt nieuw linnengoed incl handdoeken. Dus prima en een fijne vakantie gehad op het ZEER mooie Madeira.

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön, in absoluter Ruhelage, mit sehr guter und schöner Ausstattung und hat einen Whirlpool mit atemberaubendem Ausblick auf das Meer. Die Terrasse lädt ein den Sonnenuntergang zu bestaunen.
Einzig zwei Hinweise, die nicht ganz unwesentlich sind: 1) Die Unterkunft liegt im schön gelegenen Örtchen Quinta Grande, das allerdings fußläufig keine Geschäfte oder Restaurants hat. Aber es fährt ein Bus ca 5 Minuten von der Unterkunft direkt nach Funchal (Busunternehmen Rodoeste). 2) Etwas herausfordernd war die Anfahrt zum Haus: Speziell am Wochenende (da ist nur die Zufahrt von unten möglich) und wenn man das Fahren auf der Insel noch nicht gewöhnt ist - denn man muss etwa 100m über eine sehr steile und enge Zufahrtsstraße bergauf fahren, um zur Unterkunft zu gelangen.
Alles in Allem aber eine absolute Empfehlung - ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!
