This is a traditional Madeiran-style property with a concept of sharing spaces. It offers a pleasant outdoor space with a dining area, in a serene and relaxing atmosphere.

Your stay at Casa da Fajã Alta includes breakfast, served in a large space shared by all guests. Separately, it offers 7 bedrooms, each with capacity for 2 guests, all with private bathrooms.
The garden welcomes visitors, with a dining area and areas conducive to leisure time. The enchanting landscape reveals the majesty of the mountains and the unmistakable beauty of the Atlantic sea.

AREA
The municipality of São Jorge, located on the enchanting island of Madeira, is a region that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, history and local traditions. This town is about a 45-minute drive from the centre of Funchal.
There are many tourist attractions in this area, but one of the most striking attractions, the Ponta de São Jorge lighthouse, offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The imposing cliffs and unique rock formations create a picturesque setting for nature lovers. The Church of St George is a religious building of cultural interest with charming architecture. Visitors can explore the interior of the church, admire the sacred art and learn about the region's rich cultural heritage. Another point of interest is the Núcleo Primitivo da freguesia de São Jorge, in Calhau de São Jorge, which houses the ruins of sugar cane mills built at the beginning of the island's settlement. The Vigia viewpoint and Levada do Rei are also two places to visit during your stay at Casa da Fajã Alta.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
We inform that a Municipal Tourist Ecotax will be charged for person staying overnight in the municipality of Santana.
All guests staying in tourist developments and / or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged 2,00€ per person/night, up to a maximum 7 nigths stay/ 14€ per person. Close to your arrival, you will receive the link to pay this fee.

This may be our favourite accommodation ever. The house is beautiful, the view is stunning, the room is huge, it was simply great. If you want to feel like old nobility come to this place.
The two employees running the place, Sonya and Maria were fantastic, we already miss them.
The house is situated in the countryside, a lot of sights are a quick drive away. You’ll 100% need a car.
The only slight problem was that our room got mixed up at the check-in; but this was cleared in a few minutes.
Would only recommend and we would really wish to come back here someday!

Superbe logement. Les chambres sont très spacieuses. Le gîte est dans un petit lieu dit reculé, l'ambiance est très apaisante.
Maria et Sonia nous ont servis avec beaucoup d'élégance. Les petits déjeuner sont très bons et faits a la commande.
Le seul point négatif serait les matelas des lits qui sont un peu durs, mais cela dépend des goûts de chacun.

What a wonderful place! The hosts truly make this gorgeous house a home, especially Sonia went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and relaxed.
We spent an entire afternoon on the terrace because we simply wanted to enjoy this wonderful place for as long as possible instead of going out.

Aussicht war mega, auch das Haus hat einen in eine andere Zeit zurück versetzt. War gut erreichbar zum Wandern. Weil es eher abgelegen lag, war es praktisch das Frühstück mitinbegriffen war. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Bei Fragen war der Host schnell zu erreichen.

Wir hatten einen perfekten Aufenthalt. Mit Abstand das beste Bnb in dem wir je waren.
Alles sauber und ordentlich. Das Frühstück war eine 10/10. Frisches Obst, Gebäck, Tee und Omlets… Wir würden devinitiv wieder kommen. Linda, die Haushälterin war sehr Aufmerksam und lieb, ohne Sie wäre die Unterkunft nicht das was sie ist. 5/5!!!
