2 bedroom duplex apartment, with balcony, in a renovated historic building, equipped with all the facilities for a fantastic vacation in Funchal. Located in one of the downtown areas of the capital of Madeira Island, this building is close to services, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions.
Functional 2-bedroom duplex apartment on the 2nd floor of a historic building, with good natural light, contemporary décor inspired by the island's traditional elements, such as wickerwork, and landscapes of old Madeira. Ideal accommodation for a business or leisure trip. It offers all the comfort and convenience for a pleasant stay, with two bedrooms with a bathroom and shower, one with 2 single beds and the other with a double bed, a living area, a TV with cable channels, a sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen, air conditioning, a dining area and a guest toilet. Maximum capacity for 6 people.

AREA
Guests have quick and easy access to various restaurants, stores, shopping centers and supermarkets.
This building is very close to the Farmers' Market, Funchal's Old Town and the Cathedral. From here you can explore the city's many tourist attractions on foot (e.g. cable car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...).
Barreirinha’s beach or São Tiago’s beach is about fifteen minutes away on foot, where you can relax and take a dip.
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
There is a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the apartment.

You have access to all areas of the property.

We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

The unit was clean, well-equipped, and quite comfortable. Everything worked well.....wifi, good showers..lots of hot water (no bathtub), tv, washer (to dry clothes, they need to be hung up). Housekeeping came twice during our stay. The manager took care of several small issues quickly. We were there for a month. There is a numbered keypad for building entry, and then keys for each unit.
The bldg is very centrally located, easy walking distance to supermarkets, the teleferico, tourist attractions, etc. There is a bus stop right in front of the building. Keep in mind you are in the core of a small city, so one can expect some urban noise. Overnight was quiet. There is some construction in the area. For those of you who might use Uber....it is available (contrary to media reports) as Uber X here in Funchal...little English spoken by any of the drivers we encountered. They got us where we wanted to go no problem......as long as we clearly entered the correct to and from address into the app. We didn't rent a vehicle, so have no info re parking.
There was no teapot, so we obtained and left one. For everyday odds and ends (dry goods), "Bazar de Povo" is just over a block north of the apt....everything from charging cords to coffee mugs, to clothing, to teapots....at cut-rate pricing!

Il fait un peu chaud au 2e étage, car la climatisation murale ne s’y rend peu ou pas. Des ventilateurs sont fournis pour chaque chambre, donc dans l’ensemble on a très bien dormi.

It really is such a beautiful property, with no clutter, very tastefully decorated and the location is just perfect for walking around the old town in Funchal where all the local attractions and restaurants are located.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners who were ever so kind and helpful with their local knowledge. I would definitely return here when we visit again. 5 Stars!

The bad- there was a bad sewage smell during the entire stay which was never fixed other than adding strong odor fragrance but sewage smell still came thru all the way into the bedroom. It is very noisy during day and at night due to location. keyless entry code doesn’t always work and doors hard unlock.
A/C in main living area but not in the bedrooms. You are dealing with an agency so no personal touch such as someone to give you advice ideas or small welcome gift
