Modern 1 bedroom apartment with terrace, well decorated and excellent sun exposure, located in the heart of the city of Funchal. Building in a very close location to the La Vie Shopping Centre, the Port of Funchal and Municipal Theatre.
With a simple and contemporary decoration, designed for the comfort and well-being of guests, this apartment gathers all the facilities to enjoy a beautiful holiday in Madeira Island, in a work or leisure context.
The apartment includes a living area, a TV with cable channels, a well-equipped kitchen in open space, with a dining area. The bedroom has a double bed and a private bathroom inside, with a shower cubicle.
This property can accommodate two adults and one child (maximum), as it has a sofa bed for one person in the living room.
Apartment with access to the terrace, which offers a fantastic seating area. In this space, you can take the opportunity to enjoy a nice meal outdoors.
The building has a common entrance and is located in Rua da Alegria, one of the arteries near the La Vie Shopping Centre.

AREA
Building located in the Funchal city center. From this building you will be able to know all the downtown and main points of interest. It is situated right next to restaurants, shopping centres, bars, museums, the Cathedral of Funchal, Funchal Municipal Garden, Funchal Marina and Municipal Theatre.
In the city center there is plenty of information about all kinds of activities you can do during your holidays: cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.
INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer any questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

After that, guests may cancel up to 5 days prior to check-in and receive a refund of the price per night and the cleaning fee, but not of the service fee.

di uscire a piedi e trovare negozi (centro commerciale) e ristoranti. Parcheggio in strada a pagamento (solo strisce blu) dal lunedì al venerdì, sabato fino alle 14.00 e domenica gratis. Comunque non abbiamo trovato particolari difficoltà a trovare posti liberi (mese di novembre).

For future reference, our company does offer an intermediate cleaning service for stays longer than 7 nights, and additional towels can be requested at an extra cost. There should have been 5 rolls of toilet paper provided, so we apologize for this oversight.

I think the property and location itself are great, and with a few improvements (better fans or a ceiling fan in the bedroom, and an alternative to the blinds in the bathroom, this is definitely a 5 star property.

However there were a few things that was not perfect. The main one being the comfort of the bed. The bed was very hard which affected our sleep and pillows were deflated. The view was the main thing that bought this accommodation down as we paid the extra to have a rooftop balcony but was not worth it as it’s surrounded by abandoned houses which isn’t obvious in the photos or descriptions. This wasn’t as much as a problem at night as it’s a lovely view of all the lights up the island.
Overall I think this place is decent for the price however the little things bring it down.

The apartment is also well-equipped with everything you might need, including thoughtful touches like lunch boxes for hikes. There is a car rental next door and accessible parking options nearby.
However, as it is common with many Airbnbs, there were some signs of wear and tear. These minor issues didn't bother us much, but they are worth noting. The nearby street can be quite noisy, even with the windows closed. This noise is also noticeable on the otherwise lovely rooftop terrace.
In summary, this Airbnb offers a lot in terms of location, space, and amenities. If the street noise and minor wear and tear don't bother you, it's a great place to stay.

Die Lage ist sehr zentral, die Geräuschkulisse ist städtisch. Eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Restaurants sind in der nahen Rua da Carreira. Praktisch ist auch die Frutaria da Alegria gebenüber, morgens zum Brötchen und Obst einkaufen oder direkt für ein typisches portugiesisches Frühstück.
Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Die Straße vor dem Schlafzimmer ist nachts leider etwas laut. Ansonsten ist man zu Fus recht schnell in der Innenstadt. Parkplätze sind rund um die Wohnung vorhanden, jedoch alle kostenpflichtig.
Es hat leider eine Klimaanlage gefehlt, da sich die Hitze tagsüber ziemlich anstaut im 3. Stockwerk.

One thing that could be usefull is to provide indications about public transports locations in the appartment since it's not that easy to find, but that's only a plus.
