The Solar dos Reis has a large common area for all guests, kitchen and living room. Separately, it offers five bedrooms with heating, double bed or single bed, mini bar, private bathroom with shower and direct access to the exterior. Maximum capacity for 2 persons per room.
The garden welcomes visitors. As you walk through it you reach the heart of the house, where you will find a patio whose central area is occupied by the main house, small corners, comfortable seating areas and access to the rest of the property's surrounding space. The pool (heated) and its views dazzle in all their fullness. Enjoy the zen space and exercise in the open air, visit the organic vegetable garden and walk the mini footpath (natural reflexology therapy).

AREA
Solar dos Reis is located in the west of the island (the area with the most sun exposure in Madeira), in the parish of Tabua, municipality of Ribeira Brava, in an area bordering the municipality of Ponta do Sol.
Explore some of the interests closest to the house, such as the Nossa Senhora da Conceição Chapel. This chapel was a reconstruction of the old chapel of the same name, destroyed in the flood of 1696. Next door to the house is also the famous Levada Nova, where you can explore on foot and enjoy the breathtaking views of the western part of Madeira Island. Close to the House there is also a link to Paul da Serra via a dirt road, which you can take a jeep ride on, where you can explore for a more extreme experience.
There are other tourist attractions to explore during your stay at Solar dos Reis: the Miradouro do Espigão, Ribeira Brava (viewpoint), MUDAS - Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira (Calheta), Ponta do Sol beach, Madeira Ethnographic Museum (Ribeira Brava) and more.
Funchal is about a 20-minute drive from the Solar dos Reis.

The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.

- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

A tranquil and comfortable place to spend lots of time. There was terrible weather on the island while we were there in January but it was okay for us because the house was a pleasant space to spend time in. Super schönes Haus mit wenigen, tollen Zimmern. Freundliche Gastgeber, leckeres Frühstück, super Parkmöglichkeiten, traumhafter Garten und ein beheizter Pool - auch im November. Prachtig, stijlvol gerenoveerd verblijf in de authentieke stijl van Madeira. Je merkt dat de host oog voor detail heeft. Het gebouw is gelegen in een rustige omgeving omgeven door de bergflanken. We hadden een zeer propere kamer met alles wat we nodig hadden.

The apartment is a real piece of gold. The entire property appears to have been completely renovated. In the common area you can find pictures of the old and collapsed property.
Danielo is a very lovely host who always tries to make you feel comfortable and that you don't miss anything.
There is a fully equipped kitchen where one can prepare dinner and enjoy it by the pool at sunset.
The room is cleaned and the beds are made every day.
The property is located approximately 10 minutes from Ponta do Sol and is elevated at the rear of Tabua. The road there is quite winding and quite narrow in some places, so you should definitely drive carefully. Especially in the dark, as dogs and cats can cross the street.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft, ruhige Lage, abseits vom Touristentrubel. Die Lage erfordert eigenes Auto, Parkplätze direkt vorm Haus. Der beheizte Pool (28C) war super! Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man brauch. Man kann sich am ersten Tag einen Timeslot fürs Frühstück aussuchen. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und würden definitiv wiederkommen! :)

The property is a hidden gem in the mountains of Tabua. Everything looks just like in the pictures, is very clean, and very spacious. Delicious breakfast is included. They clean the room everyday. There is kitchen that can be used by everyone at all times. The location is good, very quiet, peaceful, and beautiful views. You have to drive up the mountain for a bit and the roads are steep and narrow, like everywhere in Madeira, you’ll get used to it quickly. Definitely recommendable and if I was to come come back to Madeira I would go there again.

Calm, cosy and balanced place with a truly friendly staff. Stylish, reasonably sized rooms, very well equipped kitchen available at all times. Decent breakfast included. The house is surrounded by green areas and birds chirping (not disturbing). Parking, outside swimming pool, gym equipments, sunbeds and useful books available without any extra costs. This is a perfect location to explore Madeira if you have a car and you prefer to relax at the end of your days. I would definitely recommend this place without any hesitation.

Comodissima se si affitta la macchina (tramite un consiglio del nostro host) sia per il parcheggio che per la posizione che permette di raggiungere comodamente tutti i punti dell’isola. Personale molto disponibile e attento a tutti i dettagli. La camera era molto confortevole e sempre pulita! Abbiamo fatto un tuffo anche in piscina.

The owner Mr. Danilo is such an amazing person. His team and him took very good care about the guests, room condition, garden, pool as well as breakfast. The location is beautiful in the hills and quite but still less than 10mins to the beach by car. There is absolutely nothing to improve on this apartments, keep going! Thank you! No comment

Over our expectations. The room is nice and cleaned every morning. The shared area is functional and the kitchen has everything you could need (and more probably). It gave us the opportunity to share tips and experiences with the host who is super friendly and nice!
Highlights: breakfast and swimming pool Cons: you need to go back to the coast everytime cause the village is at the end of the valley.

We kregen een warm welkom. We hadden kort van te voren geboekt. Super fijn dat we zo snel terecht konden. Alles was mooi en straalde rust uit. Alles was goed onderhouden en schoon. De beheerder gaf ons een goede tip om te gaan lunchen. We voelden ons hier thuis. De tuin en het zwembad zijn heerlijk om te genieten. Vanaf de accommodatie ben je met de auto snel overal, maar zit je erg rustig. Ook de leuke presentjes bij aankomst, geven het gevoel dat je welkom bent. Ontbijt ook goed en de sfeer warm.

Really great airbnb in a beautiful and praceful location. The pool was great, rooms were clean and modern and the hosts were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also nice. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need to drive to get anywhere as you are in the hills, but this was a plus for us because it was so calm and beautiful.

A nicely decorated and spotlessly clean house in a pretty valley. The location is extremely quiet, so be prepared to drive for any meals or activities. I would particularly recommend Madeira for elderly / retired people.

Positives: lovely room, great views of a pretty valley, spotlessly clean.
Negatives: there is nothing in the town of Tabua so you have to drive to do anything; host responded to first message then stopped replying; water in bathroom stopped working on final day (not host's fault).
Overall, I think Madeira is a destination for elderly people, not for families or younger people.

Der Garten und das Haus waren neu und wirklich schön angelegt mit einem tollen Blick durchs Tal aufs Meer und die Berge. Das Frühstück wurde an einem großen Tisch serviert, sodass man mit anderen Gästen ins Gespräch kam. Der Gastgeber war jederzeit freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Five stars! Excellent accommodation and warm, relaxed hosting by Louisa and Danielo. Casa dos Reis is a traditional style house recently and tastefully renovated with modern amenities to a high standard in a peaceful location with beautiful views. Breakfasts are included and are freshly and attentively prepared with a wide choice including many fresh, local fruits. The warm swimming pool with a wonderful vista set in a landscaped garden is an added bonus.

Fantastische plek, mooi uitzicht, heel aardig personeel, gezamenlijke keuken waar je weer andere mensen ontmoet, bed was heerlijk, alles erg netjes en schoon. De eigenaar erg aardig en behulpzaam. Kortom, super Het enige is dat je als je s avonds uiteten wil, eerst weer de auto moet pakken om ergens naar toe te gaan. Ik reis alleen, dus dat vond ik wat minder. Er is niet een restaurant op loopafstand...

We had a super time staying at Case dos Reis.
The hosts go out of their way to make one's stay as nice as possible.
Daily breakfast with freh fruit, eggs, cheese and cold cuts, OJ and coffee and anything else you could want.
The room was super tidy and were cleaned daily.
Garden and pool are always clean and super well maintained.
We would have stayed longer if our travel plans had allowed and we will come back for sure.
I can recommend Case dos Reis 10000%, especially for worcation / remote work.

I liked everything . It was one of the best places I stayed in. The surroundings are beautiful, though a bit remote so you need to have a car. It's peaceful and quiet there,very important.The swimming pool is great, heated and very well maintained. Rooms are modestly furnished but funcional. The staff is amazing. The gardener and a cleaner are doing great job. and the hosts are not only hosts but they are going an extra mile..Danilo and his wife are brilliant. Breakfast was tasty and I wasn't hungry after. we made good memories with other guests too. Thank you from Maja and Katrina. One of our window didn't open, which made opening the shutters difficult In fairness, we forgot to mention it during our stay , because everything else was great.

it was great staying here. accommodation in the middle of the mountains with a beautiful view. the owner was very kind and helpful. actually parking right next to the house. Im Casa dos Reis hatten wir eine wunderschöne Zeit. Die Unterkunft hat gerade erst neu eröffnet, ist liebevoll gestaltet und modern ausgestattet. Der Pool ist im Winter beheizt, das Frühstück ist inklusive und die Zimmer werden jeden Tag gereinigt. Das Personal und die Gastgeber/Inhaber sind unglaublich freundlich und lassen das Casa dos Reis wie ein zu Hause wirken. No comment

Nice renovated bulding surrounded by green hills where you can find silences, mountains cliemat. Rooms and common area are very clean, everything new and comfortable, bathroom so big and clean. Room was cleaned everyday. Very nice swimming pool for rest after tiyed day. Breakfast was very good , kitchen laydy will prepare you fresh scrambled eggs. Perfect place If you looking for silence place near to Funchal. Only remember that the location is only for you If you have a car, but car park is available and comfortable. Without car the location is not for you. No comment

We had a marvellous 4 day stay at Casa Dos Reis. It is peacefully situated on a winding hill top in a town of Tabua (30min from Funchal) and it is easy to get around the island. We were thoroughly welcomed by Danilo's hospitality and his wonderful staff. We felt as if we were staying at a friend's place. His communal dining table makes it easy to meet like-minded tourists from all over the world. We would definitely stay here again.
