The Solar dos Reis has a large common area for all guests, kitchen and living room. Separately, it offers five bedrooms with heating, double bed or single bed, mini bar, private bathroom with shower and direct access to the exterior. Maximum capacity for 2 persons per room.
The garden welcomes visitors. As you walk through it you reach the heart of the house, where you will find a patio whose central area is occupied by the main house, small corners, comfortable seating areas and access to the rest of the property's surrounding space. The pool (heated) and its views dazzle in all their fullness. Enjoy the zen space and exercise in the open air, visit the organic vegetable garden and walk the mini footpath (natural reflexology therapy).

AREA
Solar dos Reis is located in the west of the island (the area with the most sun exposure in Madeira), in the parish of Tabua, municipality of Ribeira Brava, in an area bordering the municipality of Ponta do Sol.
Explore some of the interests closest to the house, such as the Nossa Senhora da Conceição Chapel. This chapel was a reconstruction of the old chapel of the same name, destroyed in the flood of 1696. Next door to the house is also the famous Levada Nova, where you can explore on foot and enjoy the breathtaking views of the western part of Madeira Island. Close to the House there is also a link to Paul da Serra via a dirt road, which you can take a jeep ride on, where you can explore for a more extreme experience.
There are other tourist attractions to explore during your stay at Solar dos Reis: the Miradouro do Espigão, Ribeira Brava (viewpoint), MUDAS - Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira (Calheta), Ponta do Sol beach, Madeira Ethnographic Museum (Ribeira Brava) and more.
Funchal is about a 20-minute drive from the Solar dos Reis.

The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.

You have access to all areas of the property.

- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

Absolutely loved our stay here. So peaceful and tucked away, just what we needed. Beautiful property and pool; a perfect hub from which to explore Madeira. Just about everything is within an hour's drive, we went to Seixal, Sao Vicente, Porto da Cruz to surf, and hiked. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A beautiful place, exactly as advertised. Very clean, and the room is serviced daily. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts friendly and helpful. Do keep in mind you will need to drive to all restaurants, etc. as there is nothing within walking distance. But it was the perfect place for our purposes!

Quiet location with beautiful views and a lovely pool. Breakfast is tje best we had in Madeira. Everyday cleaning of the room though no change of towels (stayed 5 nights) and too bad we didn't get any goodbye when leaving. Would recommend this place to have a peaceful stay away from all touristic attractions, though car seems necessary for transport. PS beautiful easy levada (novo) starting from the village.

The property was great. Pool, groundskeeping, and staff were amazing! Everything was clean and breakfast every morning was a delight! The pool was a great temperature and plenty of lounge chairs/tables.
If you plan on staying here you need to rent a vehicle for the drive is about 10 min up the mountain from the nearest town. No problem for us, very intriguing drive from Ribera Brava/Ponta do Sol! Nothing!

Wirklich tolle Unterkunft. Schön gelegen in den Bergen und mit sehr leckerem Frühstück. Das Zimmer war super sauber und wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Würden immer wieder kommen!

Sehr schöne und stimmige Ausstattung der Zimmer, Frühstück wurde täglich frisch vorbereitet, Obst und Getränke sind immer frei verfügbar, kleiner Pool um am Abend noch ein bisschen zu entspannen. Die Unterkunft liegt auf einem Berg und man muss kleinere Straßen fahren, um sie zu erreichen. Nach Funchal sind es ca. 25 km. Wenn man ein Auto vor Ort hat, ist die Entfernung aber kein Problem.

If you are considering this place, just book it. We stayed for only half our trip to Madeira and I wish we would have stayed the whole time. The people here are what make this place shine - before you even think you need an extra toes at the pool someone appears with a nice big fluffy orange one. The breakfast was delicious with a huge spread and eggs to order. The view was great and while it seems like it is up in the “mountains” it was only a five min drive back to ER101 and we were able to get to all major activities quickly from this location. Such a lovey stay.

I had a delightful stay at Casa dos Reis—a stunning property that offers privacy and tranquility. The heated pool added to the charm, and the check-in process was seamless. Despite our late arrival, the keys were thoughtfully left out for us with clear instructions. There’s a parking area adjacent to the gate was convenient. The room was spotless and large enough for two persons. The bathroom was spotless and had plenty of storage space for necessities. The standing shower is quite large. The water pressure is excellent, which is very important to me. The common kitchen area is pleasant. They serve breakfast, and the espresso is delicious. I would gladly choose Casa dos Reis for my next visit to Madeira.

מקום נחמד, חדר מאוד בסיסי כדי לבוא לישון. אין קפה בחדר רק למטה במטבח. אווירה רגועה ושקטה. אך יש בנייה מסביב אז יתכן רעש מבחוץ. שאין מודעות לטבעונות, אבל זה בכל האי מדרייה כמעט.. רק שפה לא היה חלב צמחי בארוחת בוקר.

Wir waren rundum sehr zufrieden und haben uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Das Frühstück wurde jeden Tag wirklich mit Liebe zubereitet! Man kann sich hier auf leckeres Obst direkt aus dem Garten freuen.
Die Lage ist schön ruhig und trotzdem ist alles wie z. B. Funchal mit dem Auto schnell zu erreichen. Wir sind zur Abkühlung nach der Wanderung gerne in den Pool gesprungen.
Man merkt den Besitzern an, dass sie sich über jeden Gast freuen und alles dafür tun, den Aufenthalt schön zu gestalten ! :-) No comment

Die Lage war abseits vom großen Tourismus, dadurch sehr entspannend. Das Personal war sehr nett und hatten immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht. Man konnte direkt von der Unterkunft auf einer Levada wandern. Der dazugehörige Garten ist wunderschön und der Pool war sehr gepflegt. Die Parksituation war herausfordernd, sobald sich jemand nicht richtig eingeparkt hat. Eventuell könnte man es lösen, indem man die jeweiligen Parkplätze den Zimmern zuordnet.

La maison, le jardin Chambre moins grande que prévue, décoration simple, l’hôtel est très excentré. C’est globalement correct mais surtout le prix est trop élevé par rapport à la qualité et aux autres établissements de Madere.

Regarding the space, the square metre is indicated in the advert. As for the decor, we're very sorry it wasn't to your liking. Demeure madeirienne au grand charme. Nous avons agréablement été accueillis par Danilo avec quelques mots de français. On a du mal à croire que la maison d'hôtes n'était que ruines il y a quelques années en arrière... La rénovation est incroyable, chic & sobre à la fois. Une piscine à débordement entre mer & collines, aussi belle sous la pluie qu'exposée au soleil ! Les espaces environnants sont pensés pour une totale décontraction. Le petit-dejeuner est copieux et très bon. A découvrir de façon certaine ! Merci pour votre accueil.

Ubytovanie vhodné pre toho, kto hľadá kľud. Skvelá poloha na ostrove, dojazd do max 60 min k akejkoľvek atrakcii na ostrove. Skvelé raňajky rodinného tipu, spoločný jedálenský priestor zariadený všetkými kuchynským spotrebičmi, náradím v prípade individuálnej potreby… je využívaný všetkými ubytovanými. Milý hostiteľ s radami doporučeniami v prípade potreby. Večerná prechádzka s posedením v príjemných reštauráciách do 10 min od ubytovania. Doporučujem všetkým a ďakujeme s manželkou za možnosť byť tu ubytovaný. Obrigado

Very nice and cosy place. We enjoyed fresh breakfast with local fruits from the garden. All the place looks as on pictures. There isn’t any restaurant close the house and the public transport is poor over there so you would definately need a car. Thanks host for nice stay.

Brilliant location. Great pool. Clean room. Breakfasts were good with cooked egg, fruit, warm bread and cereals. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. Any query we had he was able to help. Ample parking and easy enough to find. Would recommend.

The garden and the plants and that everything was new. The location was a bit off. the rooms were a bit smaller than we expected and dark. The owner was very kind and nice and always helpful. we would have preferred breakfast in individual tables.

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, das gesamte Anwesen ist mit viel Liebe gestaltet und renoviert, das Zimmer war wie auf den Bildern, alles sehr sauber und eine tolle Dusche. beim Frühstück bleiben ebenfalls keine Wünsche offen, Eier werden frisch zubereitet und es gibt tolles Obst. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr familiär, falls wir Mal wieder nach Madeira kommen, kommen wir wieder her.

Für jeden der nach Madeira reist und einen Ort voller Ruhe und Harmonie sucht, ist diese Unterkunft genau das Richtige! Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich herzlich und es fühlt sich an wie Familie. Einer der besten Unterkünfte in denen ich jemals war!
- alles ist super sauber - sehr gutes Frühstück - Obst so viel man will - top Lage weil man von dort aus super zu allen Wanderungen, Aussichtspunkten und Stränden kommt (25 Minuten mit dem Auto nach Funchal) - wunderschöner Garten mit Pool - sehr geselliger Wohn-Essbereich
Danke noch mal für die unvergessliche Zeit und die wunderschönen Tage! Immer wieder würde ich dort meinen Aufenthalt auf Madeira verbringen!

TOUT … mais surtout notre hôte qui nous a reçu avec énormément de sympathie et qui nous préparait notre super petit déjeuner. le domaine est super et bénéficie d une piscine chauffée … trop bien le soir après une belle randonnée. nous recommandons !!! il faut absolument une voiture.

Het vriendelijke personeel. Stijlvolle uitrusting, ook erg gezellig. Comfortabele kamer waar alles in orde was. Goede bedden, mooie badkamer, veel kastruimte. Dagelijks een gevulde fles water op de kamer. Ook bij aankomst vers fruit en chocolaatjes. Het ontbijt was ook heel lekker met vers fruit, yoghurt, versgebakken eitjes, lekker warm brood, cake,... alles aanwezig! Je mocht ook gebruik maken van de keuken 's avonds en de gezellige zithoek. Het verwarmd zwembad was ook de moeite om eens in te duiken. Super mooie en rustige locatie op een berg maar toch met uitzicht op de oceaan. Ook een dikke pluim voor de schoonmaak! Zeer hygiënisch. We had a dreamy holiday week at Casa dos Reis - the location is gorgeous, at the side of the hill with a beautiful view of the valley, and the closest levada route (Levada Nova) can be reached by foot from the yard. The rooms were very clean and modern, and we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The house and the yard are truly beautiful, and it was a real luxury having a pool to dip to after a full day of trail running. However the best part our stay were our wonderful, considerate hosts as well as other guests staying in the Casa dos Reis - the atmosphere was truly friendly and welcoming, and we shared several lovely chats with them all over breakfast table and evenings on the patio. Warmly recommended for all of those looking to get an unforgettable Madeira experience!

Wir hatten einen super Aufenthalt in der ruhigen, natürlichen und wunderschönen Gegend. Als wir ankamen wurden wir direkt freundlich begrüßt und alles gezeigt. Im Zimmer gab es einen kleinen, frischen Obstkorb und ein paar Süßigkeiten. Das Zimmer wurde täglich gereinigt und alles war allgemein sehr sauber. Auch der Pool war warm und sauber. Das Frühstück war super lecker und umfangreich. Wünsche wurden gerne entgegengenommen, so wurden z.B frisch Eier zubereitet oder Früchte (einige aus dem eigenen Garten) aufgeschnitten. Das Personal wirkte familiär und war freundlich, entgegenkommend und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns überaus wohlgefühlt. Sehr gemütlich alles.
Lediglich 2 kleine Kritikpunkte: 1. der sehr kleine Fischtank im Garten, welcher sehr viele Koi Karpfen auf ca 1x1x1 Meter hält. Das ist nicht nötig und gefiel uns im Sinne des Tierschutzes nicht. 2. uns hat ein Mülleimer im Zimmer gefehlt. Es gab „nur“ einen kleinen im Bad.
Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft sehr zu empfehlen!

When we told friends about our holiday, we said that it felt like we just left paradise. The Casa dos Reis is beautiful and the hosts were warm and welcoming. They were always happy to chat and provided helpful tips during our stay. The included breakfast was lovely. The area is tranquil with an amazing view of the hills and out to the coast. In order to enjoy this location you need a car. When we come back to Madeira we will definitely stay here again!

Lovely secluded location between hills, but still close ( 10min) to beach and shops. It is very convenient for trips around the island. Host and staff vere excellent very friendly and helpful. Loved the relaxing heated pool for dip in the evening after exploring the iland. Its bit hard to find at first as google maps take you for a ride but its actually stright forward once you know the way.
