The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.

ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.

INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

While the building was commercial space on the lower floors (an old shopping center), I thought the location was great — not in the touristy resort area and a short walk to old town Funchal, restaurants and sights. The apartment was clean, spacious, peaceful and nicely decorated. Well equipped with espresso capsule machine, kettle, toaster and good fridge. The terrace was nice with great sea, marina, city and park views.
The sun in Madeira is strong and can make the apartment quite warm and stuffy, so closing all the lined blackout drapes as we left for the day helped, but I can't imagine these working enough on a 26°+ day (temps were 19-20° for us). Flaking paint due to water damage in the larger bedroom because the seal around the large windows isn't great. A bit of traffic noise because the apartment is right across from a big traffic circle. The ensuite shower wasn't ideal for showers — no real proper drainage, so the floor became a river of water.

The location could not be better in the old town of Funchal, and the unit has fabulous views. Unfortunately only one keycard was available and you cannot enter the gated grounds or use the elevator to reach the 5th (American 6th) floor without a keycard. Staying together for 3 weeks was complicated at times, and given that the unit is advertised for 4 people it would truly be difficult. There were many plumbing issues including a shower drain that was not properly installed. It is sad that we cannot provide a glowing review for this beautiful apartment that needs attention.

The appartment is very spacious and at a wonderful location, right in the centre with shops and restaurants at walking distance. There are two bathrooms and the appartment is fully equiped. The balcony is absolute spectacular.
The key was not in the locker so we had to wait for a (very nice) woman to bring us the key. There was only one pass for the outside door and elevator, which is not handy if you are with more people. One towel per person is also not much for 5-6 days. We had some problems with the shower, but these were fixed quickly. The price was high mainly because of New Years Eve.

Leider aufgrund der vielen Kreuzfahrschiffe viel zu laut - es gibt tolle Schiffe die sehr leise sind - aber einige Schiffe gehören verboten - da kann man nicht schlafen -

The location was great. Very walkable to what we wanted to see in Funchal, the water and restaurants. Parking was nearby.

We were two couples so the space worked well for us. We enjoyed the balcony every morning and evening.

Once we got checked in, which was a bit chaotic, the stay was exactly what we hoped for. The unit was clean and looks like the photos. The location is superb. Parking is close by. We only received 1 key card which was a problem (with 4 adults going different directions) which never was resolved. This is my only complaint. Apparently, the renters before us did not return the 2nd card and an additional card was not available to us. The beds were comfortable and clean. Communication with the property manager was easy, with quick replies. I would rent from them again.

Leider war der Aufenthalt eine große Enttäuschung.
Die Unterkunft war nicht sauber als wir ankamen. Es war Kot im Klo, der Boden war so schmutzig, dass unsere Füße schwarz waren, den Balkon konnten wir über die gesamte Zeit hinweg nicht benutzen, weil er so schmutzig war. Unsere Tochter war jedes Mal von Kopf bis Fuß schwarz, wenn sie kurz am Balkon war.
Auch nach einer zweiten Reinigung der Wohnung war diese noch immer nicht wirklich sauber. Der zur Verfügung gestellte Staubsauger ging nicht und musste erst repariert werden. Dazu kam dann noch ohrenbetäubender Baustellenlärm unter Tags ab Tag zwei. Wir haben die Wohnung extra gewählt, weil wir von dort aus arbeiten wollten- dies war unter Tags nun nicht mehr möglich, weil es so laut war.
Der Hauptraum Wohnzimmer/ Küche ist in Realität auch deutlich kleiner als auf den Bildern.
Das Preis Leistungsverhäotnis stimmt leider gar nicht.
Wir sind sehr enttäuscht.

This place is super central - walking distance to all notable restaurants/ bars / attractions in Funchal but far enough that you can sleep without it being loud. The wrap-around balcony was stunning and so nice to have a morning coffee or afternoon drink on. Can see both the water and the mountains from the balcony. Would recommend!

- Check-in and check-out was super easy
- Super clean
- Parking spot is spacious and easy to find with the instruction video
- They left us some Portuguese snacks :) Fruit, bread, biscuits, cake, water, wine + all things required to cook (oil, salt, etc..)

Cons:
- Small beds for 2 people (but still manageable)
- Parking spot is in a separate building about a 5-7 minute walk from the apartment and hard to find your way back into the building to get back to the car

mold in the closets, waited about an hour and a half to get the parking key (not in the premises as written.. waited until 9pm to get the baby crib that was ordered. took partial responsibility and given us 10% discount, but it was not what we were looking for. L’emplacement est parfaite pour découvrir à pied le centre de la ville. Du gigantesque balcon, nous pouvions admirer une partie de la ville et du port. Cet appartement a toute les commodités. Très beau et propre.
Nous ne sommes pas des gens très capricieux de matelas mais cette fois-ci, ils sont inconfortables. Et préparez-vous un peu d’avance pour l’entrée dans l’appartement car ça peut être un peu compliqué si vous remplissez vos informations rendus à la porte. Mais l’emplacement est tellement parfaite que nous finissons par oublier ces désagréments.

Mitten im Zentrum mit wunderbaren Aussicht aufs Meer und sogar in die Hügel! Balkon mit Lounge und Sonnenliegen.
Spar ist im selben Gebäude!
Küche recht gut ausgestattet. Wohnung ist sehr ruhig!
Die Dusche im Hauptschlafzimmer ist nicht brauchbar! Das Wasser läuft nicht ab und fliesst bis ins Schlafzimmer…😏
Nach 7 Tage gab es endlich neue Tücher und Reinigung.. musste jedoch 3x nachfragen!
Check in war erst um 16 uhr

The view is great with a generous balcony.
Location amazing, in the central.
It's a big apartment and overall looking nice.
Everything it is cheap and bad quality. The main bed has no mattress, just a topper. I've never seen in my entire life something that bad on an accommodation.
The couch in the living it so dirty, like never been cleaned for ages, never used it.
They gave you just one body towel.
No shampoo, just a body wash.
Overall, they made it as cheap as possible, even the toilet paper was 100% the cheapest on the market.
I said the pluses of the apartment and those are nice but I really don't understand how they achieved such a good rating.

We had trouble with check in and Fabio the rep was to meet us at the apartment to bring the key. He "forgot" the key card & we waited over an hour. When he arrived he showed us around (it's not easy to find the apt so watch ALL the videos) then told us that the previous guests had lost one of the key cards so they would be bringing us another in the morning. The card gets you into the outside gate, the building & allows you to access your floor in the elevator. Management NEVER delivered another key & never reached out to us about it. I messaged Fabio 2x and he said they would bring & then stopped replying to my messages. There were 4 of us so we had to constantly change our plans in order to be able to get in the bldg. There is also construction in the building & apt above us. We woke up to jack hammers & men hanging out the windows that look over our balcony. No one told us & it clearly has been going on for awhile. Plaster chips are thrown out onto balcony. We would not rent again.

Great location, rental cars underneath the apt, coffee shop across street, small store very close and larger supermarket just up hill. Ate at restaurant just around corner several times. Great view out balcony, esp at night when the lights are all on up the hills. Only drawback was having just 1 keycard. We were three and always stayed together, but if there are 2 couples, and they went different places it could have been an issue. Also a bit of construction taking place right now, but overall we’d be happy to return again

The apartment itself is lovely. Great location to walk everywhere in the town. Beautiful balcony with a view of the marina. However things did not go well from the start when we were given incorrect instructions on how to get into the apartment complex this was not great given it was a 1am arrival. The lovely taxi driver stayed with us and we had him take us to another hotel after struggling to get in for half hour, however just as we arrived at the hotel managed to get hold of someone and their rep came over to meet us, we finally got in by 2am. There was confusion the next day with the parking but that was in part due to painting maintenance. The beds are also thin foam. A further annoyance was that we could never get the internet to work. It seems iPhones and iPads were blocked from joining and this was never fixed. Overall I found the indifferent attitude from the main office representatives on the issues we had very off putting and gave us an overall bad introduction to Madeira.

Der Aufenthalt war einfach nur traumhaft.Die Wohnung ist super gelegen und sehr schön aufgeteilt.Leider gibt es ein paar Abzüge hinsichtlich Sauberkeit.Im großen Schlafzimmer war der Kleiderschrank nicht benutzbar,da die Wand hier schimmelt und es sehr gemüffelt hat.Im Zimmer war davon aber nichts zu riechen.Haben dann alle Klamotten in das andere Schlafzimmer geräumt.Leider war auch das Badezimmer im Hauptschlafzimmer etwas mangelhaft,da man beim duschen,aufgrund des zu kleinen Abflusses, das Bad flutet. Dies hat man uns aber im Vorfeld gesagt.Im Großen und Ganzen eine tolle Wohnung in einmaliger Lage.Wir würden jederzeit wieder dorthin.

The apartment is very nice and was clean. Chek-In was a bit complicated because the keys were not in the Keybox and they were still cleaning the aprtment. But when Hugo arrived with the keys he showed us everything. Is also perfect when you have a car, because you can park in the shopping centre. Overall we liked this apartment very much.

O apartamento apresentava várias lacunas graves: o armário da suite tinha uma infiltração com mancha de humidade que o tornou inutilizavel, com cheiro a mofo insuportável; cheiro a mofo na suite; cama da suite sem colchão, apenas com sobrecolchão e feita sem resguardo; tapete da sala sujo com muitas nódoas; torneira do lavatório da cozinha solta dificultando a sua utilização; piaçaba da casa de banho partido; um dos comandos do ar condicionafo não funcionava; rampa do chuveiro de uma das casas de banho estragada. Comuniquei ao anfitrião estes problemas e solicitei um reembolso e uma alternativa. O reembolso do anfitrião foi apenas a devolução da taxa de limpeza e 10% do valor da reserva pelo cheiro a humidade. Claramanete abaixo do que seria expectável. Não recomendo este anfitrião.

Sabemos que as propriedades que estão em regime de Alojamento Local requerem de um cuidado redobrado para o nível de utilização é altíssimo e é por isso que fazemos todos os possíveis para garantir qualidade e excelência no nosso serviço mas, acima de tudo, evoluir com as críticas construtivas que os nossos hóspedes apontam.

Its been a great experience, staying in the “Boat” apartment. The location is very central and near the La Vie supermarket, the apartment is very nice and clean, has sea vie, large terrace. A great bonus - available parking slot in the 24/7 parking 1 minute walk. We enjoyed it big time, thank you!

We had a fantastic stay at The Boats Apartments. The location was excellent. We loved the large balcony with views of the sea and mountains. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We had a slight problem gaining access to the property, but the representative from An Island Apart, who manage the property, was with us 2 minutes after making a call for help. Overall we were extremely impressed and would love to stay again in the future.

We picked An Island due to its location, terrace, and spacious layout. Non of these aspects of the home disappointed. As the location was perfect: 5 minute walk into the old town, and a 5 minute walk into the resort area of Funchal. The layout was great for two people, it was clean, and homie. The terrace was also a highlight for us, as it wraps around the building’s corner and provides a great view of the main Avenue’s fountain, and the ocean/port. Francisco was so kind, and kept commutation open when things got tricky for us such as; navigating and parking. We utilized every aspect of the apartment, and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

Perfekte Lage, da sehr zentral und guter Ausgangspunkt für alle möglichen Unternehmungen, z. B. Einkäufe, Restaurantbesuche, Ausflüge, Spaziergänge. Trotz Innenstadtlage sehr ruhig - dank schallisolierter Fenster. Tolle Ausblicke in Richtung Meer, Stadt, Berge. Schöner, weitläufiger Balkon. Küchenausstattung könnte teilweise hochwertiger sein, es war aber alles da, was man brauchte. Waschmaschine und Wäscheständer waren ein großes Plus! Gute Raumaufteilung und viel Stauraum für Reisegepäck.
Beim Duschen im Masterbadezimmer ist Vorsicht geboten. Der Abfluss funktioniert nicht gut und man läuft immer wieder Gefahr, das gesamte Bad und sogar angrenzende Räume unter Wasser zu setzen. Die großen Teppiche in Wohnküche und Masterbedroom sind etwas abgenutzt und sollten durch neue ersetzt werden. Der Schlüssel für den Aufzug funktioniert nicht immer bzw. scheinbar per Zufallsprinzip (das war etwas lästig).

Amazing apartment with views over the cruise ship terminal, two bedrooms, two bathrooms with a wrap around terrace two minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants, only downside was there was no swimming pool and in a resort with no beaches we did miss one
Management team of Francesco and Beatrice were so helpful, we got to the apartment four hours early and was hoping for some where to leave our luggage but when we called Beatrice she came down and gave us the keys so we could have the apartment early, we hired a car and the apartment has a dedicated parking space in an underground garage around two hundred metres away but the entry card would not work he then came back to the car park to rectify really so helpful would definitely return to the island

The apartment was superbly situated right on the cruise port on the flat to walk into Funchal centre, security was good with electronic gates that are locked at 8 pm every night and all day on weekends you’ve a card for entry there is a large narrow wrap around balcony with views of the port and town, we were two couples and there was plenty of room on the balcony, nice spotlessly clean modern apartment two bedrooms two bathrooms one en suite, on check in we got there early, phoned the number given and Beatrice came to the apartment to let us in early, we then hired a car and was walked to the parking bay allocated by Francesco who then later on that evening when I told them it was not working returned to the apartment to help at 6.30 pm
So they were extremely helpful

If there is one drawback to the apartment it was that there was no swimming pool and there no beaches in Funchal, for us this was no deal breaker Amazing apartment in a lovely City

Would certainly recommend and defiantly return

This apartment was perfect for our stay. We loved beginning and ending each day on the wrap-around balcony watching the cruises ships come and go.

The location was ideal. It is close to a supermarket and shopping center. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, museums, etc.

We were incredibly disappointed in our stay and ended up leaving our vacation early. Upon arrival at the apartment, we noted that there was only 1 bathroom not 2 bathrooms as listed. When we took our first shower, the shower drain was not working and the bathroom and nearby bedroom flooded. We contacted the property manager to alert them of the issue and used the few towels they provided to mop up as much water as possible. We did not hear any response for 5 hours and when we got a reply there were no specifics on when the situation would be resolved. Unfortunately, a cleaning crew did not show up until 12 hours later. We asked the property manager to re-arrange our airport transportation, but they were a no-show on the morning of our departure. There was ongoing daily construction on the floor above us. For the one available bathroom, there was no shade on a large window next to the shower exposing the user to a busy street below.

We would not recommend this apartment. Issues with bathroom drain that caused apartment flooding. Listed as 2 bathrooms but 1 was locked and unavailable. Very poor communication with property management. Ongoing daily construction on the floor above. The front door of the building was always open limiting security. The elevator key is very difficult to use. The large window in the bathroom next to the shower did not have any covering exposing the user to the busy street below. Return airport transfer was a no-show.

Overall we were very happy with the apartment and the service provided. Location and sunny balcony were just perfect. Beautiful views. Apartment was nicely styled and felt good quality. Bathrooms very stylish and clean. Air conditioning was welcome.

We also used the taxi service offered by An Island. Very happy with service provided and price.

Highly rate a trip to Madeira and this apartment.

Very minor criticisms - bed and pillows not too comfortable (to us), kitchen could have a few more basic items (cleaning spray, foil, washing up liquid etc), main shower floods easily (we used the other one), check in a bit complex out of hours as you need a swipe card to access the building (someone came to let us in)

Buena ubicacion y terraza genial. Bien aislada, poco ruido, tal vez algo de luz por la noche.
Mejoraria los colchones por que son muy blandos y demasiado finos. Tambien la ducha de uno de los baños no desagua y hace que el baño no se pueda usar. Igualmente seria bueno una llave para salir del parking por el portal y no por la rampa de acceso al garaje.

This apartment is lovely! The location is spectacular, overlooking the ocean, the cruise ships and a beautiful chapel and gardens. It’s very close to a mall that has a full supermarket, so very easy to buy groceries and wonderful wine.
We highly recommend choosing this apartment and would definitely stay again!

Amazing accommodation !!! Love everything about it, very well located, close to all kind of amenities such as supermarkets, transports, services, restaurants, etc.
Very clean and comfy flat !! Great for those who didn't or did rent a car because has a parking space however since I didn't rent I was close to everything.
DEF recommend this place and will stay again if I visit Madeira again.

Fantastic accommodation !!!! Exceeded my expectations !! Price and value it worth every penny. Very central, close to everything which means close to restaurants, public transports, supermarkets, etc. Didn't have car and didn't need to have it since the property was super well located.
DEF recommend it and I would stay again in the same place next time.

We loved our stay! The location is fantastic with plenty of great restaurants and entertainment at walking distance. As others have mentioned, the view from the balcony is amazing. An Island Apart (property manager) was very responsive and helpful. Fabio Saldanha met us at the nearby garage to make sure we would know where to park and find our way back to the condo. Both Fabio and Beatrice kept in touch throughout our stay, to make sure everything was ok. Don't hesitate booking this condo!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The unit is conveniently located to the city center, and was incredibly clean, and exactly as pictured. The views are beautiful, and the balcony wraps around the entire unit, and provides a wonderful way to continue enjoying the island into the evening. Being able to open the doors in every room also brought the night breezes indoors. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time on the island of Maderia and at this property. The first few days we were there we could not ask for better weather! By opening the doors on the wrap around balcony, we had an amazing cross breeze throughout the unit. We checked in at 1am and the folks helping us gave us all of the right information to access the apartment. We also locked ourselves out and they were quick to respond with a solution that allowed us to continue our vacation. The location is very near the super market, and parking if you rent a car. It also has access to many restaurants and museums. The apartment is also in a busy spot in the city for tourism and night life. Would stay again!

We loved our stay in Funchal thanks to this amazing property! Very good communication with the host including their helpful app linked with airbnb. This was HUGE! We would highly recommend staying at this property. When we return to Madeira we will definitely be staying at this property again!

The apartment is located in the heart of Funchal. The place is modern, comfortable, and clean. The views are out of this world. We spent a lot of time on the large deck enjoying the views of the ocean, park and hills of Funchal. The host was very professional and helpful. We highly recommend this view apartment in the centre of Funchal.

location is very convenient access to nearby mall, centre and harbour
huge balcony with both harbour view and city view
don’t have parking. so the nearest to park overnight is at the mall with 5-7 mins walking distance
one of the toilet in master bedroom, shower water can’t go fast and stuck the shower area overflowing to outside floor. this referred to unit 502, not sure about others.

Our favorite Airbnb stay ever. Spacious, modern, beautifully furnished and equipped. Outstanding views of the harbor, Santa Catarina Park and the city from the amazingly spacious terrace. Comfortable beds too.
