Totally refurbished to welcome you, its entire space was designed for your comfort and well-being. The modern and careful decoration is in tune with the historical streets that surround this city building. With a bedroom with double bed, a bathroom and a generous open space, this apartment is perfect to discover the charms of Funchal.
The house is fully equipped and has all the amenities to make you feel at home.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA
This house is located in a privileged central area, right in the heart of the city of Funchal. At 15 minutes walking distance from the Lavradores Market and the Old Town of Funchal, from here you can explore on foot the several touristic points of our beautiful city (e.g. Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...)

TRANSPORTATION
With a bus stop in the vicinity (five minutes away), transport will not be a problem for our guests.
For departures and arrivals from the airport, there is an aerobus stop about seven minutes from the house, although the best option to reach the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the cabs you find at the airport!

Guests have access to all areas of the apartment.

We are always available to help or answer questions. Please contact us via cell phone numbers or email. We will do our best to respond to all requests.

OTHER REMARKS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid identification document (e.g. passport, identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If not booked within a maximum of 48 hours, guests will be subject to our staff's availability.
- All bed linens and towels are provided. We can also place a crib, high chair, and baby bathtub if needed. There is a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and fire blanket at all properties.

ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. L’appartement était nickel, rien à dire sur le ménage. C’était fidèle à la description cependant nous avons été déçus sur certains points : la porte de la douche ne fermait pas, ce n’était pas étanche donc l’eau coulait absolument partout. De plus il n’y a pas de volets, seulement des rideaux donc pas de totale obscurité la nuit. Machine à laver, sèche linge, étendoir … présents MAIS dans un espace commun. Cela aurait dû être précisé dans l’annonce. Aussi on nous a prévenu 3 jours avant notre arrivée d’une taxe de séjour à payer (2€ par personne et par jour). Ça aurait été sympa de prévenir avant. Pas de liquide vaisselle, pas de shampooing, bref pas assez approvisionné d’une manière générale pour un AirBnb.
L’hôte reste néanmoins très sympathique et très réactif. C’est un bon logement très très bien placé mais quelques points sont à revoir pour que ce soit parfait. Et quoi qu’il en soit c’est super super propre ! Merci.

Overall it was a nice place to stay in an excellent location. The balcony has a nice view of Funchal and the kitchen has everything that you’d need for a short break. The bathroom is okay but the shower door doesn’t close fully so water leaks onto the floor. Previous comments about the smell of the air con must’ve been resolved as the air con was very effective.
The only major issue we had was the lift being out of action for 4 of the 7 days we stayed. It was a challenge to carry our cases down the 4 flights of stairs on the final day.

The apartment has a great location, right in the heart of Funchal, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and a shopping gallery nearby. Despite the good location, I wouldn't return to it due to an unpleasant odor that emerged from the air conditioning in the evenings. Additionally, the walls are very thin, and you can hear everything from the neighboring apartment. One night, despite the quiet hours, we couldn't sleep due to the noise from the adjacent apartment. During our stay, there were also issues with the automatic lock, causing us to wait for repairs before we could leave the apartment – a spare manual key would be useful.

Grundsätzlich war die Unterkunft wie beschrieben und wir haben uns eigentlich sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Erlebnis wurde jedoch sehr geschmälert durch einen unangenehmen fauligen Geruch, welcher in unregelmäßigen Abständen auftrat. Insbesondere bei Verwendung der Klimaanlage, deshalb haben wir sie nicht benutzt.
Die Kommunikation verlief auch nur mittelmäßig. Zwar habe ich immer schnell eine Antwort bekommen, meine Anfragen liefen jedoch ins Leere. Während unseres Aufenthalts gab es im Erdgeschoss ein lautes Piepsen, welches man bis in die vierte Etage in unserem Apartment hörte. Dies meldete ich natürlich, behoben wurde es nicht. Auch die Frage nach einer weiteren Rolle Toilettenpapier wurde positiv beantwortet, wir haben aber nie welches bekommen…

Todo genial: apartamento luminoso, con terraza, espacioso, equipado y con lavadora disponible. Muy bien ubicado y acogedor :)
La única mejoría a destacar serían las almohadas y si se quiere usar la TV, tiene una pequeña raya en la pantalla aunque para nosotros no fue problema porque no la necesitamos. Lo recomiendo!

Great location, walkable to everything. We hired a car and parked in a multi story Carpark around the corner for €6 a day.
The apartment was clean and tidy but we could have done with extra towels as we were there for a week and only given one set and the hairdryer blew out cold air only. All in all it was a good stay and we would recommend to others.

Super Unterkunft, im Zentrum von Funchal. Viele tolle Restaurants in der Nähe sowie Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Sehr einfacher Check-in mit Codes. Parkplätze sind keine Vorhanden - wir haben jeweils im Parkhaus an der Rua 5 de outubro beim Cambridge School für 4 Euro pro Tag parkiert. Zimmer war sauber und ideal ausgestattete Küche. Nice apartment in the very center of Funchal. It's a stone's throw to the funicular, the embankment and streets with restaurants. We didn't plan to spend a lot of time at home, so these apartments and the price-quality ratio suited us.
On the positive side, I can note the presence of all utensils for cooking, a balcony, TV and air conditioning.
Overall I would say that the apartment needs a bit of a facelift. Then it will be very good.
Please pay attention that there is no private parking and it can be hard do park rented car in the evening.
Other people have already written several times in reviews about the condition of the shower stalls. We had a rusty corner, because of this the door did not close well and water poured out.
It is also very humid in the entrance, and it seemed to me that this is why there are a lot of mosquitoes that fly into the apartment. We had to buy a fumigator.
I would also note that from our apartment there was a view of some kind of factory (which did not seem to be working), but we did not open the curtains since the windows of the factory were literally two meters away.

Wir haben während unseres kurzen Funchal Aufenthalt dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist sehr zentral gelegen. Von dort aus ist man überall sehr schnell zufuss. In der Wohnung ist alles was man braucht und ist daher auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen 😊

We had a great experience. the place looks like the photos, it is located near everything you would need: bus or taxi, restaurants, parks, grocery stores etc. the only downside is that there are mosquitos and the windows don't have a filter for insects. other than that, very practical place and would definitely recommend.

My room was mostly fine, but the entrance smelled atrocious, like an onion cellar with rotting onions. Very unpleasant smell to be greeted with everything you enter or exit the lobby.

Unfortunately that smell began to seep into the bathroom, so I had to keep that door closed for the last 2 days of my stay.

Coffee maker in my room was broken, but staff replaced that asap which was nice.

Wifi and contact info for the desk was available via qr code, and check in was via keypad which was very easy.

Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit in unserem Appartment!!
Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war sehr professionell und reibungslos. Die Lage ist unschlagbar und die Gegend ist ruhig.
Lediglich das Treppenhaus ist hellhörig, aber für unsere Nachbarn kann der Anbieter ja nichts...
Man könnte die Ferienwohnung perfekt machen, indem man den Abfluss im Bad frei macht und die Eingangstür besser abdichtet: Immer wenn andere Türen ins Schloss fielen, klapperte auch unsere Eingangstür.
Dennoch haben wir uns extrem wohl gefühlt und würden die Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen. Vielen Dank!

Be aware at 8 am the bell start ringing and rings every 15 minutes. But that is okay when you in city center. We didnt mind it. We sere very satisfied with this apartment.

The apartment is really beautiful and enough for 2 people. The location in downtown is absolutely great! Unfortunately there are no closets for clothes and there is no closet in the bathroom either. There are dishes in the kitchen, there are not enough coffee cups and there is not enough space for cooking. There are washing machines and dryers available for free use. Unfortunately, there is no drying rack to dry clothes that are not allowed in the dryer. The light in the stairwell is on, day and night! That was very annoying. Maybe the motion detector is broken?
Short way to many restaurants...

De locatie is perfect, midden in het oude centrum.
Enorm verheugd op dit appartement, maar we hebben een heel ander appartement gekregen dan dat we op de foto’s gezien hadden en om die reden geboekt hadden. Zijn terecht gekomen op de 4e etage met een schuin dak waar je als je lang bent niet eens rechtop kan staan. Een klein balkon, met op zithoogte een blinde muur voor je neus. Op stahoogte wel prachtig stadsuitzicht! Lang zitten op deze leuke, maar niet praktische stoeltjes hou je niet vol. Er zou volgens de beschrijving in de woning een wasmachine zijn, maar die staat 2 etages lager. In de woonkamer is het beter om de gordijnen dicht te laten want het uitzicht aan de straatkant is niet heel erg spannend. Verder hadden we op aanraden van de verhuurder de dichtstbijzijnde parkeergarage gekozen, maar dat kostte ons 30,50 voor een dag. Op loopafstand zit er een voor 4,50 per dag. De badkamerstrips op de douchedeur zagen er smerig uit. De kookplaat was gescheurd, kortom er waren wat zaken die onderhoud nodig hadden. Niet iedereen van het personeel was even vriendelijk. Sommige wel overigens. Geen persoonlijke benadering, alles via de app en een infolink

Cozy and clean apartment for 2 pax right in downtown Funchal. Despite its central location, the flat was very quiet, and noise from the streets was never an issue, even when sitting on the balcony. Communication with the host was very quick and seamless via their website. There are no parking spots for cars available, but the Autosilo Joao Jardim is nearby and costs 5€/day.

The apartment was okay. Fairly clean apart from the bathroom that needed a good deep clean (toilet bowl was quite grimy) and squashed mosquitos all over the walls and ceilings. Other than that it was as shown in the pictures. However, the apartment was noisy - not from outside - but the a/c would randomly turn on/off all night long and there was some noise from a generator or something on the roof. There was also a lot of building work going on downstairs toward the end of our stay. We also had problems with a noisy neighbour which obviously wasn’t the hosts fault but beware if you have noisy neighbours they will disturb you.

Ayant séjourné deux semaines au sein de cet appartement, j’ai beaucoup apprécié sa localisation qui est à 5 min max à pieds du port de Funchal.
Tout est à proximité : cafés, restaurants, marché et magasins. Nous sommes à moins de 10 min d’une petite plage de galets et des arrêts de bus.

Concernant l’appartement en lui même, la décoration et les équipements sont très bien.
Je pensais avoir le lave linge dans l’appartement mais il est en réalité au second étage (laverie partagée avec l’ensemble de l’immeuble). Malgré tout, cela n’a pas vraiment posé problème car le lave linge était souvent disponible.
Le seul petit point de vigilance pour ma part concerne la propreté : le ménage hebdomadaire est très bien car les draps et serviettes sont changées. Mais la poussière n’est pas faite en profondeur, et il manque un balais ou aspirateur pour pouvoir nettoyer régulièrement (le balais à disposition était assez sale et usé).
Aussi, les rideaux laissent passer la lumière : nous sommes donc réveillés dès le lever du jour (vers 7h30) ce qui est un peu pénible.
Enfin, l’ascenseur était en panne et aurait été agréable (surtout pour nous qui étions au 4e étage).

Malgré cela, tout est très moderne et neuf, les sanitaires et cuisine sont top ainsi que la literie. La terrasse est agréable et la vue est super !
Je recommande donc ce logement si vous souhaitez visiter cette superbe île qu’est Madère !

We stayed in the apartment for a week and we loved it.

It looks exactly as on the pictures - stylish and lovely. The balcony has a beautiful view on the mountains, you can also catch a glimpse of the sea from the windows behind the bed.

The location is perfect, it’s in the center and a walking distance from the sea.

The apartment is very clean.

The communication was very smooth and quick, we had a self check in - all the details were received by email.

As to what could be improved: the WiFi signal works rather poorly, we didn’t have enough soap and toilet paper for a week, there was no shampoo (despite being announced in the listing).

Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

We had an absolute fantastic stay in that house. The location was perfect, directly at the beach with a nice terrace where you can watch the surfer.

Diese kleine Wohnung liegt mitten in der Innenstadt von Funchal und ist dabei ganz ruhig gelegen. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt und alles ist vorhanden. Das Appartement war sehr sauber. In der Umgebung gibt es zahlreiche Restaurants und Cafes und natürlich Blandys Weinlodge :-). Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Super new apartment, everything like is in a hotel - white towels, new plates and so. Very comfortable. Lockated in downtown, 10m to to to the port station where dep ships to Portimao and Porto Santo. Electronic codes - no problems with keys.
Amazing view from apartments on 4th floor.
If I back to Madeira - try to stay here again! For sure!

Very clean apartment located in the heart of Funchal. Equipped with everything you may need. (Toaster, microwave oven, coffee machine, iron, etc.) and even a blender for whatever reason you may need it during your vocation.
Washing machine is also available and it's free of charge.
Apartment is located in 2 minute walking distance from hundreds of cafes, bars, restaurants and places of interest.
Great service and easy communication with management.
Special thanks goes to Carolina for warm welcome. She was super friendly and helpful despite our very late arrival.
Downtown Funchal Apartments by TravelToMadeira is absolutely the best choice if you are looking for a place to stay on the island.
Definitely recommend to everyone.
