Lovers of movement and city life will love this friendly and refined penthouse, situated in the heart of the city of Funchal.
Its interior space has been used at its best, in order to offer the comfort paired with a modern and careful decoration, that will meet your expectations. The apartment has a bedroom with double bed, bathroom with shower and an small equipped kitchen. From the small balcony you have a privileged view of downtown architecture and the Cathedral Tower.
The property is fully prepared to make you feel at home!
THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
Guests have easy access to several restaurants (there is a small cafe just outside the building), shops, shopping centre and supermarket.
This flat is situated very close to the famous Farmers’ Market (Mercado dos Lavradores), the historic centre of Funchal (locally known as ‘Zona Velha’) and the Cathedral. From here you can explore by foot many of the main tourist attractions of our beautiful town. (e.g. The Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc ...)
Barreirinha Beach is about twenty minutes' walk away, where you can relax and dip into the crystal clear waters of the island.
GETTING AROUND
Although a aerobus bus stop for airport arrivals and departures is within four minutes walk distance from the flat, we recommend the private transfer service as the best option to get there. Contact us in advance to schedule a private transfer car with our local partners. It is cheaper than taking a taxi by your own in the airport!

Guests have access to all areas of the flat.

We are always at your disposal to help or to answer your questions. You can contact us via our mobile numbers or by email. We will do our best to meet your requests.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (E.g. passport, identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. In case the check-in is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours prior arrival, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide a crib, a baby high chair and a baby bathtub if needed. First aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket are available in all properties.
ATTENTION
Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

Supermarkets just around the corner. Cuban bar/restaurant at the bottom of the apartment. Pharmacy 2 minutes walk away. So much choice in the area and only about ten minutes away from the fruit/fish market. I cannot rate the location highly enough. Not on a steep road. Near to bus routes and taxis can be found just down the road.
One of the best showers I've ever used in an apartment. Very powerful, had great adjustable temperatures and I always felt very cleansed. Towels, hand soap and shower gel/shampoo available.
Well equipped with good facilities: induction hob, microwave/grill, toaster, coffee percolator etc. Table/chairs for dining. Walking up liquid and sponge, tea towels, cleaning cloths and refuse bags. This was very appreciated. TV available. Plug sockets in the room good storage for clothing. Lift to apartment. Code & key access. WiFi which has great connection. Instruction manuals for electricals. Information for guests readily available.
Customer service staff were always available by message with quick responses and recommendations. Laundry available downstairs as was a refuse area which included recycling.
Small and compact but with plenty of amenities and in a superb location overall. I would stay here again 100%.
Small ants in the floor which could get in via the sliding door. Not terrible (I've had worse in Malta!) but reported to the accommodation and acknowledged.
Awkward position of bed (for me personally) as I was on the left of the bed which is positioned against the wall so it was a little challenging to get in and out - this is mainly due to the size of the apartment and available space so is not a deal breaker, just useful for people to know. This also meant that I had no side table. My husband did on the right.
We were not aware of an issue with the outer electric blinds (they seemed to work fine for us) nor were we pre informed of a potential visit. This could be a difference in approach by the country but we had an unexpected visit by 4 men who needed access. We had been in the middle of an afternoon nap after a 17km walk so it was a bit awkward because my husband was in bed sleeping (everything is in the one room). Notice would have been appreciated.
There were building works happening directly outside the property but we were out most of the time so it wasn't terrible for us. Sleep could be disrupted some mornings by the sound of metal saws and banging. It is out of summer season however so building is not unexpected for most destinations. Our views were of a street with bars but mainly we could see a building site out of the balcony window. Worth knowing if this would be a deal breaker for you. We didn't mind so much but someone else might.
TV is fine. Large and ideally positioned but is not a smart TV so we were not able to connect to it for Netflix or YouTube. Again, not a deal breaker but useful to know. TV wasn't why we were away so this wasn't a problem for us.
More pillows would have been nice 👍 we only had one each but we managed.

Von den Fotos her hatten wir eine Terrasse erwartet und etwas mehr Platz, - es war aber dennoch ausreichend. Leider war direkt vor unserem Fenster eine Baustelle, wo ab morgens gearbeitet wurde.

I couldn't do either the pre check in or the pre check out forms properly due to the options available. I was contacted to be let know someone was going to my room in two hours - after I told them I wouldnt want anyone to go to the room whilst I wasn't there - when I mentioned this again they did not go to be fair but it was not great, at least ask if the person minds. The room is a bit small. I ended up not cooking there - just breakfast - and I don't think I would have enough space.

Communication with the letting agency was annoying. During both the online check in and check out they kept trying to upsell something. I don’t want to have to go through a ton of adverts just to check out.
I also didn’t like the fact that the check in is at 4 PM and check out is at 10 AM. Yet when I arrived at the property at 3:50 PM I was told by three cleaners who were standing inside the flat, two of them checking their phones, to come back in 20-30 minutes. Which technically would be past the check out time.

On recoit une dizaine de mail avant et apres par la compagnie tierce avec pubs... alors qu'un seul mail devrait suffir.
1eres photos qui donnent envie avec la terrasse mais il faut bien savoir que ce logement n'a pas de vue ni terrasse. Bien regarder avant.

We would like to clarify this. On booking.com we advertise photos of the building in general, including photos of the balcony of the penthouse flat. However when you proceed with the booking, it only shows the specific photos of each flat and in this specific case, it does not indicate that the 4B is a penthouse, but only shows a photo with a small balcony.

Pokój z pięknym tarasem ze zdjęcia na bookingu okazał się być zwykłym pokojem z balkonem wielkości 30cmx100cm z widokiem na stare budynki.
Kabina prysznicowa była zagrzybiała i brudna...
Brakowało bardzo miejsca parkingowego, najbliższe miejsce do zostawienia auta było jakiś 1km od mieszkania i oczywiście ten parking był płatny (15eur za samą noc).
Cała reszta była po prostu ok.

BUT, the apartment was not really clean. There were hairs on the bathroom wall, molt around the sink and the shower was full of molt. The bedsheets had stains (we think of greasy food, but it doesn’t look clean..), there were food stains left in the kitchen and the kitchen tools were not cleaned properly. Stains on the walls and cabinets, which are so easy to clean.. The most disgusting thing that we found were clipped nails on the balcony, really gross.
We let the owner know on our 3rd morning and they told us they would refund the cleaning fee, which is kind.

En las fotos al alquilar , salía una terraza espectacular, y la terraza existía, pero en otro apartamento, no en el nuestro, nos sentimos algo engañados, por ese precio si supiéramos que no tenía terraza, cogerianmos alguno de los otros apartamentos que estuvimos mirando, cogimos ese exclusivamente por la terraza que no tenia

A melhorar: A primeira porta de entrada deveria também ter acesso por código para evitar a intrusão de pessoas externas aos apartamentos e o gradeamento deveriam ter menos espaço entre as grades.
