Die Gäste haben schnellen und einfachen Zugang zu verschiedenen Restaurants, Geschäften, Einkaufszentren und Supermärkten.
Dieses Gebäude liegt ganz in der Nähe des Bauernmarktes, der Altstadt von Funchal und der Kathedrale. Von hier aus können Sie die vielen touristischen Attraktionen der Stadt zu Fuß erkunden (z.B. die Seilbahn, den Jachthafen von Funchal, das CR7-Museum, die Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...).
Der Strand von Barreirinha oder São Tiago ist etwa eine Viertelstunde zu Fuß entfernt, wo Sie sich entspannen und baden können.
GETTING AROUND
Die beste Möglichkeit, die Wohnung zu erreichen, ist der Transfer. Bitten Sie uns, einen solchen bei unseren lokalen Partnern zu buchen. Er ist billiger als die Taxis, die Sie am Flughafen finden.
Wenn Sie ein Auto mieten, kann jede Navigations-App die Adresse leicht finden.
Es gibt eine Bushaltestelle 2 Minuten zu Fuß von der Wohnung entfernt.

- Bettwäsche und Handtücher werden zur Verfügung gestellt. Bei Bedarf können wir auch ein Babybett, einen Hochstuhl und eine Babywanne bereitstellen, aber Sie sollten dies anfragen. Es gibt einen Erste-Hilfe-Kasten, Feuerlöscher und eine Feuerlöschdecke im Haus.
ACHTUNG
Bitte beachten Sie, dass für alle Personen, die in der Gemeinde Funchal übernachten, eine Touristengebühr erhoben wird. So werden allen Kunden, die in touristischen Einrichtungen und/oder Unterkünften übernachten und mindestens 13 Jahre alt sind, 2,00 € pro Person/Nacht berechnet, bis zu einem Maximum von 7 Nächten und einem Maximum von 14,00 € pro Person/Aufenthalt. Bei Ihrer Ankunft erhalten Sie einen Link zur Zahlung dieser Kommunalsteuer.

Very nice stay at apartment #5.
Everything about the stay was great for us. Location is amazing and close by to everything we needed. Great restaurants and coffee shops close by. Close proximity to good supermarket. Hired a car and the car park was only 5 minute walk and good value for money for a 24hr parking.

The apartment is in a great, central location. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. There was good communication with An Island Apart. As pointed out in some reviews the apartment is a little sterile, but it’s got what you need. Apart from the big lamp over the table you see in the photos, that wasn’t there. We asked if a replacement, or any lamp, could be provided but were told it couldn’t. So lighting a bit bright if you want to sit and relax in the evening.
Need to note that this apartment is at the rear of the building - not overlooking the tree/main road. Better from our point of view because it wasn’t too noisy. Overall a great place to stay.
Parking - we initially parked in Parking Santa Luzia which is cheap but incredibly tight, so don’t recommend unless you have a minute car. We then used Almirante Reis, which is a lot more expensive for overnight parking but less hair raising.
Need to note that this apartment is at the rear of the building - not overlooking the tree/main road. Better from our point of view because it wasn’t too noisy. Overall a great place to stay.

Good location five minutes from the front and streets of the old town. Apartment was clean and kitchen had everything we needed. Good shower and comfortable sofa and good tv and wifi.
The day we arrived we got email threatening to report us to, as they put it "the relevant authorities" for not paying 28 Euros city tax that we knew nothing about. Paid it immediately but why the awful aggressive message?? Apartment was up 5 flights of stairs with no lift that we were also not aware of an as you can imagine having to heave all our luggage up 5 flights on arrival was awful. Not to mention going up and down these all day long after being out walking. Would not have booked to stay here if this had been mentioned clearly in the listing . Balcony view not as described and definitely not sea view unless u got out your binoculors. Directly opposite the balcony just a few feet away was looking straight on to a awful derelict building with broken windows, worse balcony view we have ever had.
The listing needs updating to clearly state the 5 flights of stairs and pictures need to show the grotty view.

Die Unterkunft ist mitten in Funchal. Es gibt alle nötigen Geschäfte, Bars und Restaurants in der Umgebung. Es ist nicht besonders laut, aber vor allem am Wochenende können Partygänger zu hören sein.
Die Wohnung ist geräumig, sauber und mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet. Besonders toll fanden wir die Dachterrasse, wo man schön sitzen kann. Das TV ist smart, so dass Streamingdienste und auch Konsole gut funktionieren. Wer einen Mietwagen hat, kann diesen in einer Garage in der Nähe für relativ günstiges Geld (5€ pro Tag) abstellen.
Die Wohnung ist von einem gewerblichen Vermieter, dementsprechend ist die Wohnung eher zweckmäßig eingerichtet als besonders gemütlich.
Wir haben den Aufenthalt genossen.

Bovenste etage van appartementen in centrum Funchal. Voor ons geweldig. Appartement ziet er als nieuw uit. Geen lift aanwezig.
Alles op loopafstand. Parkeergarage op 7 minuten lopen. Boulevard op 3 min lopen. Veel keuze uit restaurantjes, ook voor ontbijt en lunch. Madeiranen zijn erg vriendelijk. Het hele eiland doorkruist. Steeds weer andere natuur.
Haast bestaat niet op Madeira.

The sink side there was only cold water running from the tap, it was a bit odd doing the washing up after a meal.

Overall a great stay. Great flat in a great location. Some small plumbing issues but these were dealt with quickly. Only frustration was communication: (1) asked for early check in and was told they’d let me know if this would be possible 24 hours before official checkin time but no information came through despite multiple chasers and (2) multiple numbers and platforms for communication whereas I wish they’d just communicate and run everything through Airbnb - it got hard to track and added to the communication issues

Die Unterkunft war sauber und wie beschrieben auf den Fotos. Die Lage ist top um Funchal zu Fuß zu erkunden. Ein Auto kann man in einer Tiefgarage in der Nähe für 4€ pro Nacht parken. Uns hat die Unterkunft sehr gut gefallen und wir können sie nur weiterempfehlen!

Świetny apartament ze wszelkimi udogodnieniami.Bardzo czysto,fajny tarasik i widok na Ocean.Bardzo dobra lokalizacja w centrum Funchal.Samochód można pozostawić na parkingu Santa Lucia, oddalonym o 10 minut od apartamentu.Koszt to 4€ za dobę,więc cena bardzo korzystna.Polecam!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in dieser schönen Wohnung sehr genossen. Die Lage ist 1A, vieles lässt sich zu Fuß erreichen, ansonsten gibt es in unmittelbarer Nähe einige Bushaltestellen. Der Checkin erfolgt über eine Schlüsselbox mit Code, nicht ganz eindeutig beschrieben. Tipp: Zuerst an der Haupteingangstür über den Code der Tastatur(Symbol Schlüssel + Code) hinein (nicht Schlüsselbox). Erst oben im dritten Stock vor der Wohnungstür befindet sich die Schlüsselbox, die über einen weiteren Code zu öffnen ist. Besonders gut hat uns der Balkon gefallen, der Blick auf eine kleine Seitenstraße hat.

The apartment is very centrally located in Funchal and many things are within walking distance. The transfer from/to the accommodation is also very easy with the airport bus (Aerobus), as the nearest bus stop is not too far from the accommodation.
The furnishings of the accommodation are quite simple but functional. Especially as there are many restaurants and bars nearby, so you don't necessarily have to cook in the apartment.
One negative point is the view, which is "out the back" and so you have the house opposite in front of your nose (but there is still a little view of the sea). In addition, in the mornings there is a rather fiddly noise from the ventilation system there. This can be annoying when you're sitting on the terrace for breakfast in the morning. On the other side, the rear side is quieter (apart from the noise of the ventilation system) as it is not on the side of the main road.

We had a great stay! We received a lot of great tips for the island and felt right at home. The location is very walkable in Funchal but you do have to rent a car or scooter if you want to see the rest of the island. We had virtually zero issues here, until one small thing happened with our kitchen but it was promptly taken care of. When we come back we’d stay here again!
