In dieser kleinen Villa, die aus drei schönen Häusern besteht, können Sie die Ruhe und Gelassenheit mit einem weiten Blick auf den Atlantischen Ozean und Funchal genießen.
Dieses kleine "Bauernhaus" besteht aus drei Häusern mit Steinmauern, mit verschiedenen Typologien und umgeben von kleinen Gärten. Die Häuser tragen die Namen von Bäumen, die es auf unserer Insel gibt.
Dieses Haus hat ein Schlafzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten, ein Badezimmer mit Dusche.
Das Haus verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Küchenzeile.

DIE NACHBARSCHAFT ÜBERBLICK
In der Gegend von Choupana finden Sie ein Restaurant, das 2 Autominuten vom Haus entfernt liegt. Die nächste Bäckerei ist 5 Autominuten und der Supermarkt 10 Autominuten entfernt, in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums.
Das Stadtzentrum ist 15 Autominuten entfernt.
Die Gegend ist ruhig und still. Von hier aus können Sie über die Gemeindestraßen, die eine Verbindung zur Autobahn haben, jeden Teil der Insel erreichen.
Ein Auto zu mieten ist die beste Option, um die Insel in Ihrem eigenen Tempo zu entdecken.
ANREISE
Die beste Option, um zum Haus zu gelangen, ist ein Transfer. Bitten Sie uns, einen solchen mit unseren lokalen Partnern zu organisieren. Er ist billiger als die Taxis, die Sie am Flughafen finden. Wenn Sie ein Auto mieten, wird jede Navigations-App die Adresse leicht finden.

- Nach portugiesischem Recht müssen alle Gäste einen gültigen Ausweis vorlegen. (z.B. Reisepass, Personalausweis).
- Der Check-in muss im Voraus geplant werden. Falls der Check-in nicht innerhalb von 48 Stunden vor der Ankunft geplant wird, müssen die Gäste die Verfügbarkeit unseres Teams abwarten.
- Bettwäsche und Handtücher sind vorhanden. Bei Bedarf können wir auch ein Kinderbett, einen Hochstuhl und eine Babybadewanne zur Verfügung stellen. Ein Erste-Hilfe-Kasten, ein Feuerlöscher und eine Feuerlöschdecke sind in allen Unterkünften vorhanden.
- Die Reinigung während des Aufenthalts sowie der Austausch von Bettwäsche, Handtüchern und Verbrauchsmaterialien werden wöchentlich durchgeführt. Wenn Sie einen zusätzlichen Reinigungsservice wünschen, kann dieser gegen einen erschwinglichen Aufpreis organisiert werden. Die wöchentliche Reinigung und der Austausch von Bettwäsche, Handtüchern und Verbrauchsmaterialien werden bei einem Aufenthalt von weniger als sieben Nächten nicht durchgeführt.

We had a great couple of last nights in Funchal overlooking the city from Choupana Hills 😻 It’s probably one of the steepest hills and roads but definitely worth the view. Loved the beautiful garden and terrace! 👌🏻

Pour la monter au logement préférez les routes en lacets elles seront beaucoup plus agréables pour accéder au logement : Caminho dos Pretos et Estrada da boa nova et la monte sera tranquille.

Das Haus wird umgeben von einem wunderbaren Garten. Die Gegend ist sehr ruhig, wohl nur gut mit Auto erreichbar. Der Nachteil von der tollen Aussicht, sind die steilen Straßen:-) Nach ein paar Tagen wurden Handtücher und Bettwäsche gewechselt. Für den Aufenthalt hätte ich mir wohl ein Kehrblech oder Staubsauger gewünscht, um mal sauber machen zu können

Der Aufenthalt im dieser Unterkunft war insgesamt sehr schön. Schönes Haus mit wunderschönem Garten um das Haus herum. Tropische Pflanzenwelt geben Dschungelvibes. Ruhige Lage, man ist für sich. Der Ausblick auf Funchal ist schön und lässt sich von einem kleinen Aussichtspunkt genießen. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet! Sogar eine Heizung war vorhanden, was im Winter hilfreich ist. Der Berg bis zu Unterkunft ist zwar sehr steil, aber im 1. Gang absolut machbar. Ich hätte mir eine noch etwas ausführlichere Beschreibung der Anfahrt gewünscht. Falls Mülltrennung erwünscht ist, muss das Haus mit mehr Mülleimern ausgestattet werden.

Beautiful and quaint property of heritage farm value. Lovely views, gorgeous tropical and flowering plants, nice covered deck, very quiet and peaceful. Loved the chaise longue and deck furniture. Wool blankets a nice touch for sitting outside on cool mornings/evenings. The manual/instructions could use some updating. Missing coffee making essentials. Couldn’t get the stove top to work. Fire place unusable due to one missing brick in the floor. A warning about how steep the roads are getting there and how far it is from restaurants/groceries stores would have guests better prepared on arrival.

We had a beautiful stay afar from the city noise and felt all around very comfortable in and around the house.
It felt like living inside a botanical garden.
A little tip:
Don’t just trust google maps - it leads you up very steep roads
Instead use ER201 (Caminho dos Pretos) - takes about 3 minutes more, but you‘ll reach your destination much more relaxed :)
Would definitely come here again!

Doesn’t have an oven or grill as listed. BBQ which is listed is broken. Makes it difficult when you stock up on the way expecting these things. A few small things like no ironing board (there js one listed) so had to ask for one to be delivered. Small things like no bin bags provided (even though you can’t flush toilet roll so need them). No information provided regarding how difficult it is to get a taxi back in the evening - twice a taxi from town couldn’t make it all the way back due to steep roads so we had to get out early and walk up steep hills in the dark. Could be much better information about this

Die Unterkunft liegt am Berghang über Funchal. So steil und herausfordernd für das Mietauto und den Fahrer, so schön ist dir Aussicht von der Terrasse. Das Gelände ist grün, bunt und ruhig. Leider war die Unterkunft bei unserer Ankunft stark verschmutzt, es befanden sich Flecken und Haare in den Bettlaken, schwarzer Schimmel im Bad und Staub und Spinnenweben überall. Die Vermieter haben kurzfristig auf unsere Nachricht geantwortet und sind uns entgegengenommen, da wir die Unterkunft nach der ersten Nacht sofort wieder verlassen und unseren Aufenthalt abgebrochen haben. In sauberem Zustand wäre die Unterkunft aufgrund ihrer Aussicht und der ruhigen Umgebung zu empfehlen. Allerdings sollte man sich bezüglich der Anfahrt wohlfühlen in steilem Gelände auf schmalen Straßen mit dem Auto zu rangieren und anzufahren. Darüber hinaus sollte man sich versichern, dass das Mietauto über genügend PS verfügt um die Steigung meistern zu können.

The space looks like the photos and we were happy with the location. Space was clean and comfortable to sleep in at night. Only a 10 minute drive from Funchal. It was difficult to get to and a lot of the bushes were overgrown, which made it difficult to drive without concerns of scratching the rental car. Unfortunately there were unclear/no instructions regarding the gate to the entrance of the property. We were locked out after coming back from dinner and the maintenance team took over an hour to come and assist. (Prior to this we were able to come/go by conveniently driving behind another guest in the air BNB complex)

The house is actually nicer than the pictures. Lovely surroundings of garden and amazing views. However a few things made this trip less than great for us. Firstly, the house is right at the very very top of Funchal so is a bit of a nightmare to reach from both the town itself and also from the motorway which is where you need to be for any kind of route around Madeira. Incredibly steep roads (1st gear most of the way!) Not at all possible to walk into town - way too long and super steep. Secondly during the heat of the day (lunchtime) there were masses of lizards on the terrace ...over friendly lizards who climbed onto the table via chairs/table legs/our legs! Got a bit fed up with them. Thirdly, and VERY importantly the access into the house was only with a key - ie no handle. Also no means of putting the door on the latch. We hadn't sussed this on the first night and so we got locked out as we shut the door when on the terrace. Had to sleep on the neighbours' sun beds....

Locked ourselves out and the agent came to our rescue.
Excellent instruction for entry and we found it relatively easily. Beds should have been bolted together. Linen poor.
Crockery and cutlery haphazard. No oven and not permitted to use BBQ.

A szállás elhelyezkedése gyönyörű volt, mintha egy botanikus kert közepén lettünk volna. A kilátás és a levegő minősége páratlan volt. Csend és nyugalom vett körül, igazán pihentető napokat töltöttünk ott. Felejthetetlen érzés volt a reggeli teánkhoz szakítani a kertből egy citromot, a vacsoránkhoz pedig rozmaringot szedtünk. Több túra útvonal is volt a közelben ami nagyon tetszett nekünk. Nagyon jól éreztük magunkat! Köszönünk mindent! Egyetlen észrevételünk, hogy lehetne egy kicsivel több evőeszköz. Plussz kiskanál és fakanál hiányzott, de nem volt negatív élmény.

bonjour, l'endroit est vraiment très sympathique, le seul bémol (comme dans d'autres commentaires) est l'humidité dans le logement. il faudrait sérieusement faire quelque chose car ce n'est pas sain du tout. ce logement à besoin d'être aéré très très régulièrement. The house is located in stunning area - a lot of hydrangeas, ocean view and it's peaceful. If someone is not familiar with a steep and narrow roads might not feel comfortable. Generally, the house is nice but few things needs to be repaired.

Tolle Unterkunft, mitten im Grünen, sehr ruhig gelegen... idyllisch. Der Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück ist etwas holprig erreichbar und aufgrund der vielen Hortensien und des steilen Anstiegs auf dem Grundstück, empfiehlt sich ein kleinerer, aber leistungsstarker Wagen. Man wacht praktisch mit Vogelgezwitscher auf und schläft auch so wieder ein... eine tolle Lage in den Bergen von Monte am Stadtrand.

Le cadre est magnifique avec la vue dégagée sur l’océan et le calme du quartier. Le grand bémol par contre, c’est l’emplacement : la maison est située sur les hauteurs de Funchal et les routes pour y accéder sont très pointues (certaines sont quasi inaccessibles pour la montée (pente 30 degrés ! ) et nous devions régulièrement faire le détour par des routes plus accessibles en montant, ce qui rajoutait environ 10 minutes. Il y a un parking devant la maison, mais pour y accéder il faut monter une grosse pente, nous voulions pas risquer avec la voiture de location. Nous avons décidé donc de laisser la voiture plus bas et faisions 5 dernières minutes à pied. L’endroit n’est pas adapté aux PMR ni aux enfants en bas âge (à moins que la montée vous gêne pas). Globalement un peu mitigé : cadre agréable et reposant une fois à la maison qui est propre et bien équipée, mais la route pour y accéder est sportive ++.

It smells really humid and old inside the whole house. Furnitures are really old and smelly, the kitchen equipment is not clean. The whole house needs a fresh up, new kitchen equipment, furniture and curtains would already make a difference.
It seems this should only be for making money, no investments have been done since years.
Other guests already complained about poor kitchen equipment but nothing was changed.
I would definitely not recommend staying here!!

Diese Unterkunft braucht dringend eine Renovierung & ist Geld nicht wert!! Es riecht stark muffig & feucht, etwas nach Schimmel. Generell ist alles sehr alt & runtergekommen, man fühlt sich nicht wohl. Wir hatten uns gefreut, selber kochen zu können. Die Ausstattung der Küche lässt dies jedoch nicht zu, da alles sehr alt und unsauber ist. Es gibt z.B. nur 2 Messer, was bereits in Kommentaren vor einigen Jahren angemerkt wurde. Man möchte dort am liebsten nichts benutzen. Im Bad ist Schimmel, der scheinbar immer nur überstrichen wurde. Generell ist das Haus viel zu teuer für das was man bekommt, es scheint hier wird nur Geld gemacht und NICHTS investiert. Man könnte es mit kleinen Mitteln gut aufwerten. Die Lage ist sehr weit oben am Berg, sehr steile Straßen. Wir hatten nie einen Ausblick, immer nur Nebel so dass man nichts sehen konnte. Weiter unten schien meist die Sonne. Dafür liegt es schön im Grünen, man hat seine Ruhe. Wir würden nicht wiederkommen und es auch nicht empfehlen!

Das abgeschieden gelegene Häuschen "Cedro" hat alles, was man braucht. Schöne, von Büschen und Bäumen umstandene Terrasse mit Blick aufs Meer.
Anbindung per Bus nach Funchal ist gut, 7 Minuten zu Fuß über eine Treppe zur Haltestelle. Bus fährt alle 30 bis 120 Minuten. Zugang zu zwei Levadas (Richtung Monte bzw. Camacha/Palheiro Gardens) fußläufig in der Nähe. 20-Minuten-Spaziergang zum Restaurant Alta Vista (bergauf/bergab).
Insgesamt ein sehr erholsamer, ruhiger, autofreier Urlaub.

Nos ha encantado este alojamiento. Una preciosa casa con mucho encanto. Espacio perfecto para 2. Te sentías en un oasis de paz cada mañana, a pesar de que hay 3 alojamientos en la misma parcela son independientes y permiten tener toda la privacidad. Nos alegramos de poder usar la barbacoa. A pesar de no estar en el centro como Funchal viene muy bien para hacer recorridos de senderismo o visitar otras partes de la isla. Volveríamos sin duda.

Die Häuschen sehen von aussen sehr schön aus, leider war innen das Problem. Es müffelte extrem bzw. die alten Möbel riechen seeeehr modrig, Lüften hilft nur bedingt. Die Möbel gehören dringend ausgetauscht denn dieser Geruch war sehr störend und leider war es auch extrem kalt. Die Heizung konnte man nicht aufdrehen.
Die Umgebung und die Gärten rundum waren darüf wirklich wunderschön, von Orangen- bis hin zu Kiwibäumen war alles zu finden und die Aussicht ist auch sehr schön.

Vi nød vores ferie i slut november, og sad meget på terrassen og nød udsigten over Funchal og havet. Udsigten er vigtig. Huset er perfekt til to og det har en hjemlig stemning. Vi havde lejet en bil og synes det er nødvendigt, da huset ligger højt over havet og i forhold til udflugter, restauranter og butikker.

Cozy cottage in the middle of the garden. This is a place for those who value peace and own space. It’s a countryside cottage. Overall we had a lovely stay, the house had everything we needed to make simple dinners and breakfasts. It was good place to wind out after day of exploring the island. Few things to note: the weather is cooler up in the montains than in Funchal, so have a something warm to use in the evenings. To avoid those steep uphills (that others have mentioned) use a route through the stadion.

De plek is fantastisch, echter geen mogelijkheden tot een winkelbezoek tenzij je met een taxi een boodschap wilt doen. De locatie is heel hoog in de bergen, niet dichtbij de bewoonde wereld en moeilijk begaanbaar.
Kookgelegenheid was 1 kookpit, de andere had geen bedieningsknop. Er werd beschreven dat er een afwasmachine aanwezig is, maar toen wij het huisje zagen leek dat al niet reëel. Dat klopt ook, er was geen. Nou vinden we dat niet zo`n punt, maar vermeld het dan ook niet. Met 1 kookpit en geen gelegenheid om uit eten te gaan was het erg behelpen.
Op de bedden lag je op de veren, dus deze zijn aan vervanging toe.
Een fles water als welkom is wel het minste wat aanwezig mag zijn op deze afgelegen plek en je arriveert zo vanuit de vlieghaven.
We vroegen om een andere lokatie, daar werd heel welwillend in gedaan, alleraardigste dame die ons daarbij heel voorkomend hielp, echter toen we bijna vertrokken naar een ander appartement zou hij ineens volgeboekt zijn.
Kortom nee we komen hier niet weer terug en kunnen helaas ook niet deze quinta adviseren aan anderen.
(NB:we hebben zelf een andere lokatie naar tevredenheid gevonden)

Petit déjeuner très copieux, parfait. Emplacement un peu difficile à trouver en pleine nuit. Une fois rentré sur le domaine, nous n'avons pas pu trouvé notre maison, il faisait nuit (23h30) Nous avons donc cherché la maison du propriétaire et c'est lui qui nous a emmené à notre maison. Merci encore infiniment pour sa gentillesse. Il serait peut être bien d'allumer la maison avant l' arrivée prévue ou d'expliquer comment la trouver dans la propriété.

Trés bel endroit sur les hauteurs de Funchal. Petite maisonnette en pierre avec beaucoup de charme. L'emplacement est top, au calme absolu et une belle vue sur la baie de Funchal. En revanche, il faut accepter d'être isolée, et un peu éloigné du centre ville de Funchal. Comme dit dans beaucoup de commentaires, la pente est trés raide pendant plusieurs minutes pour arriver jusqu'au logement, mais nous avions une toute petite voiture catégorie A, et nous n'avons pas eu de souci ;) Il vaut mieux être dans ce logement quand il fait beau pour pouvoir profiter de l'extérieur trés agréable. A l'intérieur, c'est un peu sombre, et il manque un peu de vaisselle. Trés bel endroit pour se reposer !

We enjoyed our stay at this acommodation up in the hills of Funchal. It's a beautiful place, outside the city, with stunning views of Funchal and the sea. Would recommend to rent a car when you are staying there, because it's the most convenient way to get there and explore the island. The acommodation was equipped as described on Airbnb, so we were able to prepare small meals. You can see that the equipment has seen better days, but nevertheless, it's working just fine. At least in our apartment there wasn't an oven, so check before you buy anything that needs to go in there. Communication with the hosts was easy and quick. All in all, would definitely recommend this place if you enjoy nature and peace of mind. It's a beautiful rustic place and you can discover a lot of nice hiking trails from there. Thanks again for having us!

Einzig auf der Terrasse sitzen und Aussicht war schön. Der Park. Haus cedro Service katastrophe. Notrufnummer vom Anbieter wird nicht beantwortet, jrgendwann ruft mal jemand zurück. Oder es nimmt jemand ab der gerade Dienst hat und erklährt einem das er jetzt gerade keine Zeit hat ( hintergrund musik,lärm alls wenn er in einer Bar währe) Haus bei ankunft unbeheizt..Nach mehreren anrufen ..am nächsten (!) Abend wurde dann geheitzt.. Das Haus stinkt nach feuchte weil sie es kalt lassen wenn niemand da ist Älteres Häuschen, zerissenes Geschirrtuch,(neues gekauft,beim nächsten putzen der Putzfrau wurde es wieder getauscht mit einem zerrissenem ausgefransten, Küche zum teil defekt,wird nichts repariert,ausstattung miserabel.Es wird gar nicht geschaut was der Mieter selbst besorgt) Völlig überteuert. Man merkt richtig ..nur noch Geld machen sollange noch Mieter kommen..aber sonst wird absolut nichts gemacht. Haustüre defekt! Wenn der Schlüssel im Haus ist und Türe schliesst, kein reinkommen mehr möglich da Türschliessknopf defekt. Wir hatten weitere 3 unterkünfte auf Madeira und keine wahr so teuer und so miserabel . Völlig überteuert. Das Mietauto wird zerkratzt von dem Pflanzen da alles in die Stassen reinwächst. Schöner Garten aber es artet zur verwilderung aus. Wir sind liebhaber der wilden Natur, aber dies ist nur noch verwildern lassen weill es sonst etwas kostet ein wenig dazu zu schauen.
Wir kommen nie wieder. Lest Rezesion der Vorgänger..die haben ähnliches geschrieben.

The apartment is spacious and with all comforts. The hosts are easy to reach in case of need. Check in is easy. The location offers beautiful views and sunsets but it is a bit far from the city centre and restaurants. As in many other places on the island, prepare for a steep way up to reach the property! We would have liked to receive a few info upon arrival (e.g. closest supermarket and pharmacy, recycling, emergency numbers on the island, etc.).

Der Garten um das Haus ist sehr schön, die Aussicht ist super!
Küche und Bad sind aber etwas veraltet und benötigen ein kleines Upgrade. Dennoch findet man beinahe alles was man so braucht. Generell aber eher spartanisch.
Wir haben es dort sehr genossen.

Petit havre de paix niché dans les hauteurs de Funchal, parfaitement dans le thème de vacances "maderienne". La maison est parfaite pour deux personnes. Propre et silencieux !!
Attention toutefois pour ceux pas à l'aise avec le volant car la route pour y accéder monte sacrement et est assez étroite. Ceci étant l'emplacement est très bon car proche du centre ville (environ 15 minutes) mais dans une atmosphère de montagne. Je recommande !!!

I expected much more from a house anounced as "Quinta Devónia - Cedro, country house with sea view"
- There is no sea view or Funchal view from the house, you had to move to another area of the property to see Funchal or the Sea. For me the pictures shown of the house with the Funchal and sea view are misleading. You can't expect me to spend the morning under the sun in another area of the property to have breakfast, lunch, dinner or check my mail with my laptop, just to have a nice view
- Vegetation is so out of control in the property that is difficult to move with the car or even walking, in the porch you don't have any view except the vegetation that sorrounds the house
- No indications the get to the house the first day, except google that sends you to a street 45º of inclination, with a part that can't be followed up hill, no previous help to recommend a better way by the property.
- The kitchen elements are at the minimum minimum, 3 coffee spoons, 3 coffee cups, few dishes, we had to spent most time washing dishes just to breakfast and lunch.
- The chairs in the living room are loosen and disassemble after a couple of hours.
- Cleaning is not correct, spider webs in the ceiling, in bedside table, etc.
- Cleaning service, came once during our stay without announcing, they spent less than 10 minutes in the house and did not clean anything.
- First day, just one additional roll of toylet paper, is not supposed to be responsability of the property to provide it for all the days?
- No indicationsto get to the house the first day: key locker is not marked with the name of the house, no indications inside the property to get to the house, so we had to visit every house until we found Cedro.
- House for two but only on lounge chair to take the sun under the house mini-garden
- Too many small objects, pillows, and decoration in the tables of the house for a so limited space, we had to remove everything to have some free space.

The property is fine, but vegetation has grown so big that there is no "sea view" at all. Moving around with the car is difficult, no indications and wild vegatation complicate everything. The house has the minimum, minimum for the stay. Google indications to arrive and nonexistent indications by the owner make it very hard to arrive the first day. Weekly Cleaning was non existent

Rodolfo, Thank you for your review! This property is in the mountains, and surrounded by a garden. To get a view of the sea you have to walk closer to the sea.
Indications are always sent by e-mail, and also our phone contact, for case of any question to find the place.
The intermediate cleaning includes the exchange of bed linen and towels.

A casa bastante agradável no topo da colina, inserida numa herdade muito bonita, repleta de vegetação e com bastante privacidade. É ideal para duas pessoas. A nossa estadia foi de 10 dias e quando chegámos detectámos que eram necessárias algumas reparações. Garantiram-nos que as fariam no dia seguinte. Contudo ficámos desapontados pois a grande maioria das reparações foi agendada para o dia da nossa saída, sem qualquer tipo de aviso prévio ou comunicação.

Das Haus Cedrik (eins von 3) ist wirklich traumhaft mitten im Grünen gelegen. Es ist ein kleines Haus mit gerade dem nötigsten was man so braucht. Wir waren nur zum kochen und schlafen innen, sonst haben wir viel Zeit auf der wunderschönen Terrasse verbracht. Das gesamte Grundstück ist sehr gepflegt und wird regelmäßig von Gärtnern versorgt. Nachts kann es hier schon recht kühl werden.
Die Häuser werden von einer Serviceagentur betreut. Ist zwar nicht sehr persönlich (Kontakt per SMS wenn man etwas braucht), aber es hat alles gut geklappt. Wir hätten uns mehr Geschirrtücher zum wechseln gewünscht und die Küchenausstattung ist recht knapp bemessen. Außerdem gibt es kaum Infos zur Umgebung, das findet man dann jedoch selbst schnell raus.
Waren mit Baby in der Unterkunft. Auf Nachfrage wurden uns Hochstuhl und Babybadewanne am nächsten Morgen gebracht.
Bis in die Innenstadt ist es ein ganzes Stück. Nur mit dem Auto zu erreichen, das sollte einem bewusst sein. Und die Straßen in Funchal sind unfassbar steil! Wir haben einige Tage gebraucht um eine gute Route zur Unterkunft zu finden (Gmaps ist in Funchal nicht ideal).
Von uns eine absolute Empfehlung für entspannte Tage in der Natur!

Beautiful property with amazing views, good communication and flexible check-in. Colourful garden! Make sure to take the road Caminho das Voltas to get there :) We slept in the one-bedroom villa (Cedro) and the kitchen & bathroom were maybe a little outdated, but in general still a very cosy house. The other houses (like the Nogueira) seemed to be even more cosy, with better ocean views.

A really nice small cottage up in the hills. Very good communication, we spent a super week up here. It looks bigger in the photos, but if the weather is nice, it's the perfect spot for 2 persons. Be sure to have good driving skills, as some streets are very steep and streets can get very narrow. You might want to rent a car with a bit more power! Also, you have to get used to the long daily barking session of dogs around ;)

Really cute cottage up on the hill! The view is amazing and the surrounding area of the house makes you feel like you're in a botanical garden. We really enjoyed our stay (2 weeks). You'll find everything you need for cooking in the house and Funchal city is only about 8-10 minutes by car (uphill is a bit tricky (15min) as the streets are extremely steep, so keep that in mind when you're booking a car, you definitely need one for this accommodation!). We really recommend going here if you want to have a quiet, charming location outside of the busy city :) The check-in by key box was also super easy and convenient.

Das Haus ist perfekt für 2 Personen, es hat alles was man braucht. Besonders toll fanden wir die Terrasse mit dem Kamin. Das Haus ist von einem wunderschönen Garten umgeben und die Aussicht auf Funchal und das Meer sind traumhaft. Es ist etwas abgelegen und nur mit Auto zu empfehlen. Aber genau das hat uns so gut gefallen. Die Hausausstattung ist nicht die Neuste aber es funktioniert alles einwandfrei und man merkt, dass die Liegenschaft sehr gepflegt ist. Wir würden sofort wieder hin!

The location is superb. It has all required for relaxing days. When arriving use exit 13 from highway and drive on the upper side of the fotball station. That road is straighforward. We used the same route for shopping in Camacha a shoppingsenter. That is close and has a straighforward route.
The direct straight road to the botanical garden is the steepest in Maderira. Skip that. It is also only one way part of it.
This cottage has all you need. Bring the morning cup of coffe to the "chairs" 15 m west of the cottage. The view of the city is stunning. And mind calming. Dont miss!
You can enjoy the sun outside the door. You stay in a sort of botanical garden, and this cottage (one of 3) has privacy. 7 minutes to bus 29 west of house. Ca evry hour and 2euro. We used uber for return from city. Ca 8 to 13 euro.
Negative: once or twice a day some dogs a few hundred meters away had a barking session. Else it was relaxing silence here. The door handle need to be changed so that you can reenter if the wind close the door and you are outside. Then you need the key..... Stupid arrangement. 2knifes is too few. Double please.
We will stay here for the future!

Very nice house in the middle of a beautiful garden. The view on Funchal is amazing. Excellent outside area to relax.
The communication with Travel To Madeira was excellent and the check-in was very efficient.

Un cadre superbe avec une vue splendide mer depuis les hauteurs de Funchal. A tester sans hésiter. L'accès en voiture n'est pas évident mais les routes sur les hauteurs de Funchal sont toutes comme çà.

The property was clean and tidy with a good amount of room for two people. The views were lovely. There were no instructions for recycling, or information about footpaths. The room was very warm. The beds were quite hard.

Sehr schöne Lage weit oberhalb von Funchal, mit liebevoll angelegtem Garten. Hier hat man Ruhe, mal abgesehen von den kläffenden Hunden in der Nachbarschaft...;) Die Anfahrt ist teilweise relativ steil, man sollte der Route zum botanischen Garten folgen.
