DIE NACHBARSCHAFT UND DIE UMGEBUNG
Dieses Haus befindet sich in einer privilegierten zentralen Lage, mitten im Herzen der Stadt Funchal. Nur 15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Lavradores-Markt und der Altstadt von Funchal entfernt, können Sie von hier aus zu Fuß die verschiedenen touristischen Punkte unserer schönen Stadt erkunden (z.B. Seilbahn, Jachthafen von Funchal, CR7 Museum, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...)
TRANSPORT
Mit einer Bushaltestelle in der Nähe (fünf Minuten entfernt), wird der Transport kein Problem für unsere Gäste sein.
Für Abflüge und Ankünfte vom Flughafen gibt es eine Aerobus-Haltestelle etwa sieben Minuten vom Haus entfernt, obwohl die beste Option, um die Wohnung zu erreichen, der Transfer ist. Bitten Sie uns, einen solchen bei unseren lokalen Partnern zu buchen. Es ist billiger als die Taxis, die Sie am Flughafen finden!

- the building doesn’t have great sound proof, you can clearly hear people on the 4th floor, and be kind to the ones on the 2nd floor at night (I was in flat 3B).
- there’s a extractor vent in the courtyard (back view is looking onto an old industrial building) that can be a bit noisy too.

Het appartement was niet zo comfortabel. Vooral de matrassen waren niet ok: te hard in het tweepersoonsbed en het uitklapbare bed in de living is eigenlijk geen volwaardig bed voor een week. De matras is hard en vol gleuven waardoor een gemakkelijke houding moeilijk is.
De badkamer is wel goed ongericht en ruim genoeg maar niet hygiënisch: er is schimmel aan de zijkanten van de douche.
Het appartement is klein en dat is geen probleem op een warme lokatie maar het is weinig gerieflijk: weinig bestek en servies. En zelf koken is praktisch niet haalbaar.

Apartament na oko był mniejszy niż deklaracja w ofercie, choć dla dwóch osób i tak był wystarczająco przestronny. Nie była dostępna szczotka do podłogi czy odkurzacz, a serwis sprzątający sprzątał bardzo niedokładnie. Widok z sypialni był na jakieś patio, dlatego okna była zasłonięte, ale te okna były bardzo brudne, więc jeśli chcieliśmy doświetlić sypialnie, to oglądaliśmy brudne okna. Hałas z patio uprzykrzał pobyt i zmuszał do zamknięcia okien. Apartament wymaga już odświeżenia (remontu).

We arrived at the Downtown Funchal apartment but were unable to get into our apartment room. The apartment door would not open. We contacted the agent and were told to 'Wait.' We waited over 90 minutes outside our apartment. During that time we attempted to contact her several times for an update but unfortunately she chose not to reply to our messages. It was quite stressful not knowing if she would turn up. When the agent finally arrived she informed us that the door key pad needed new batteries. We also found that the bed settee was dirty and the pillows on the double bed were soiled.
We contacted the Island apart company but there was no response. We finally went out to the local store and purchased new pillows and a sheet to cover the settee.

Die Anweisungen um das Apartment zu finden, waren ein wenig ungenau. Die große Terrasse ist sehr schön, aber leider Richtung Norden und somit ohne Sonne.

Perfect location, lovely apartment.
Super fast transfer from the airport using the service in the app, just 45 mins from bag collect to reaching the apt.
Too many excellent restaurants to mention and just round the corner from the Ritz, which is good for people watching.
There was a lack of mugs for a cup of tea, but have bought a couple so these should be left in the room for the next visitors.
We have passed on the details to friends if they want to visit.

Hamburgueria do Mercado do a mean burger, and the Ritz Madeira is just around the corner and good for a sit and people watching.
There is a sizeable balcony for sitting out on, which we took advantage of, one day, getting cheeses and wine from the Pingo Doce Super Brito Câmara supermarket.
We cannot fault the transfer provided by the hosts app, which went smoothly from, and to the airport. It took 45 mins from collecting the cases to arriving at the apartment.
My only gripe was the lack of a large mug for my tea, but I bought a couple so hopefully these will be there for all to share in the room now.

Overall, for the price this is a great place for 2 guests but would not recommend 3 people stay here. The location was really good and it was really easy to check in and out. The hosts were really responsive and provided good feedback and answers to questions that we had, as well as some recommendations upon request.

Upon the check-in we noticed that the toilet doesn't flush. The toilet got fixed 24 hours later, after we called the customer service a number of times asking to solve this asap. It does not seem this problem was treated as an emergency. In the meantime, we had to flush the toilet with a bucket.
The apartment has a nice big terrace, but the chairs are very uncomfortable. Therefore, you cannot spend much time there as it become unbearable to sit on these chairs, Moreover, the terrace gets flooded each time it rains as there is no drainage system. The flooded terrace floor becomes very slippery.
We asked for a crib which was provided, but it did not have a proper mattress, just a very thin one which is completely unsuitable for sleeping. I had to construct a mattress for my toddler by wrapping a blanket.
There was a loud noise in the bedroom every time it rained. It seemed as if the water drops are banging into a tin-plate.
All in all - this accommodation has a good potential but it seems the hosts don't care to improve its quality. I would not return there.

Apartment is more boutique type; e.g. there are no wardrobe but a rag instead. I would prefer two twin beds here or at least two bed mattresses for a couple to sleep. Room size varies, we got smaller apartment but it actually did not matter as furniture is the same.

op basis van foto’s en reviews hadden we er meer van verwacht. o.a. schimmel bij deurpost badkamer, douchewater loopt niet goed weg, pleisterwerk muur dat losliet en ander serviceniveau dan verwacht obv de prijs (bijv schone handdoeken en voldoende toiletpapier voor het verblijf is niet inbegrepen).

Le logement se trouve en plein centre ville, à l’angle des rues Sao Francisco et Carreira en haut de la pizzeria Xaramba et à 5 mètres d’un excellent restaurant de cuisine locale Londres.
L’appartement est situé au 3ème étage d’un immeuble de 4 étages avec un ascenseur qui possède une douzaine de logements meublés pour la location saisonnière.
Il est composé d’un séjour-cuisine américaine ouvert sur une grande terrasse avec une table et 4 chaises, d’une chambre sur cour et d’une grande salle d’eau.
La cuisine est complètement équipée, l’huile, le vinaigre, le sel et le thé sont mis à la disposition. Dans la chambre, une grande quantité de cintres vous permet d’installer l’ensemble de vos vêtements. Les serviettes de bain de dimensions généreuses sont fournies également.
La situation géographique est très centrale dans un quartier touristique animé, plein de restaurants et à proximité de transports.
Vous pouvez y arrivez par l’aerobus (prix de 5 euros), l’arrêt avenida do Mar, ou bien par le service de transfert privé (25 euros) ou divisé (8 euro) assuré par différentes compagnies. Pour ma part, j’ai bénéficié d’un excellent service de Madeiralimo.
Je souhaitais souligner un grand professionnalisme de Travel to Madeira, l’excellence de leur accueil, leur réactivité et leur flexibilité.

Le logement est situé en pleine centre ville, à l’angle des rues Sao Francisco et Carreira en haut de la pizzeria Xaramba et à 5 mètres d’un excellent restaurant de cuisine locale Londres.
L’appartement est situé au 3ème étage d’un immeuble de 4 étages avec un ascenseur qui possède une douzaine de logements meublés pour la location saisonnière.
Il est composé d’un séjour-cuisine américaine ouvert sur une grande terrasse avec une table et 4 chaises, d’une chambre sur cour et d’une grande salle d’eau.
La cuisine est complètement équipée, l’huile, le vinaigre, le sel et le thé sont mis à la disposition. Dans la chambre, un grand quantité de cintres ce qui vous permet d’installer l’ensemble de vos vêtements. Les grandes serviettes généreuses sont fournies également.
La situation géographique est très centrale dans un quartier touristique animé, plein de restaurants et à proximité de transports.
Vous pouvez y arrivez par l’aerobus (prix de 5 euros), l’arrêt avenida do Mar, ou bien par le service de transfert privé (25 euros) ou divisé (8 euro) assuré par différentes compagnies. Pour ma part, j’ai bénéficié d’un excellent service de Madeiralimo.
Je souhaitais souligner un grand professionnalisme de Travel to Madeira, l’excellence de leur accueil, leur réactivité et leur flexibilité.

The only downsite is that there are no free parkings in the near surrounding.
