DIE NACHBARSCHAFT UND DIE UMGEBUNG
Dieses Haus befindet sich in einer privilegierten zentralen Lage, mitten im Herzen der Stadt Funchal. Nur 15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Lavradores-Markt und der Altstadt von Funchal entfernt, können Sie von hier aus zu Fuß die verschiedenen touristischen Punkte unserer schönen Stadt erkunden (z.B. Seilbahn, Jachthafen von Funchal, CR7 Museum, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc...)

TRANSPORT
Mit einer Bushaltestelle in der Nähe (fünf Minuten entfernt), wird der Transport kein Problem für unsere Gäste sein.
Für Abflüge und Ankünfte vom Flughafen gibt es eine Aerobus-Haltestelle etwa sieben Minuten vom Haus entfernt, obwohl die beste Option, um die Wohnung zu erreichen, der Transfer ist. Bitten Sie uns, einen solchen bei unseren lokalen Partnern zu buchen. Es ist billiger als die Taxis, die Sie am Flughafen finden!

So werden allen Gästen, die in touristischen Einrichtungen und/oder Unterkünften übernachten und mindestens 13 Jahre alt sind, 2,00 € pro Person/Nacht berechnet, bis zu einem Maximum von 7 Nächten und einem Maximum von 14,00 € pro Person/Aufenthalt. Great location within funchal, surrounded by restaurants. Spacious apartment with good facilities and clear instructions prior to check in. From reading other reviews the bathroom flooding has been an ongoing issue which was at times a problem during our stay. Some additional towels/shower mat would have helpful to manage this issue!

Great place to stay in and visit the island. The apartment was clean and as described, light and spacious. It's very central so everything is within walking distance. Instructions to check in were clear and the checkout was hassle free. The host was really responsive and helpful with local recommendations. Good value for money too.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of the city, walkable distance from the water, to many other attractions and Plaza Madeira. Communication was great and kitchen was fully equiped (kettle, coffee machine, salt, pepper, etc). There is a laundry room in the building which was convenient. Would recommend for the location and price.

We had an amazing time staying in this apartment in Funchal! Everything was great from the very beginning – the hosts were friendly and always available to help with any questions.

The apartment is clean, bright, and exactly as described. A comfortable bed and a well-equipped kitchen provided everything needed for a pleasant stay.
The location is excellent – the city center is within walking distance, and there are shops, cafes, and a shopping mall nearby.

We really enjoyed the central location and the view from the lounge onto the vibrant cobblestone side street, full of cafes and restaurants. The apartment was super clean on arrival and during our 10-day stay it was cleaned again, which was much appreciated. Entry to the apartment was quick and easy, and details were clearly communicated. We also appreciated having access to a washing machine and dryer during our stay. We would definitely stay here again and can highly recommend!

The apartment is nice and conveniently located in the heart of Funchal. The only problem is with the shower as the bathroom gets flooded even with quick showers. This problem has been reported by multiple guests over times but never got fixed!

We had a fantastic stay at "An Island's Place" apartment! The location is perfect—just a 2-3 minute walk to the beautifully decorated Christmas market in Funchal. There were plenty of dining options nearby, with small, charming restaurants and even a shopping mall within walking distance. We stayed for a week and worked remotely from the apartment, and the internet was fast and reliable. Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient choice. Highly recommend!

Achei tudo excelente, até a disponibilidade inicial manifestada para me ajudar se houvesse alguma dificuldade.
Não percebi a lógica das chaves que me deixaram dentro do apartamento; julguei que substituiriam o código, depois do primeiro acesso; e de facto uma das chaves abria o prédio, mas a segunda não abria o apartamento. Também estranhei com desconforto o não encontrar o ferro de engomar anunciado, nem as máquinas de lavar e secar; estas eram dispensáveis, mas o ferro fazia-me falta. Deixei mensagem e liguei, mas ninguém me atendeu, pelo que me vi coagida a ir comprar um ferro de engomar. Só depois fui inspeccionar o site, e percebi que máquinas de lavar e secar estariam num espaço comum do prédio. Fui verificar, e percebi a lógica da chave extra; e que o ferro de engomar lá estava também. Só esta falha de comunicação "beliscou" a excelente qualidade da minha experiência.

O apartamento é tal como descrito, espaçoso e muito bem localizado. De referir apenas que o problema do vazamento do chuveiro já relatado por outros hóspedes é um pouco incómodo. Também se ouviam barulhos do apartamento superior, o que poderá ser um problema, dependendo dos hóspedes (no nosso caso, parecia haver crianças no piso superior, o que poderá ter piorado a situação).

Amazing flat in a great location within Funchal! Walking distance to all the city attractions, reaturants, bars and even a Thai massage parlor (great for post hike relaxation). Host was also very responsive to our messages/requests. We were initially a bit worried of not managing to find parkings for our car, but turned out it was not really and issue as there are plenty of underground parkings 5-10 mins away, which are not too expensive. Would highly recommend this place and would come back for sure.

Le logement était parfait, rien à redire ! Tout était propre et l’appartement est très fonctionnel. Les seuls éléments un peu gênant ont été la clim qui n’a pas fonctionné correctement et qui a fui. La douche aussi ne protège pas assez des projections d’eau et la salle de bain se retrouve assez vite inondés. Enfin la localisation était parfaite puisqu’en plein centre de la ville ! Attention toutefois, cela amène donc un vis à vis avec tous les voisins environnants et notamment les restaurants en bas de l’immeuble ainsi que les bureaux dans l’immeuble d’en face. Peut ne pas être un problème pour certain mais à garder en tête.
Autrement rien à redire. Le ménage intermédiaire est vraiment un plus et l’hôte a toujours été à notre écoute ce qui est vraiment rassurant !

Our stay was great. We were surprised by how spacious and nice the unit was as it looked smaller in pictures. The unit was bright with lots of natural light and the AC worked well which we were thankful for. The location was lovely and close to lots of great restaurants, notably the square. It was also not too far from the old town. We had a vehicle and although there was no parking on site we found there were multiple public parking garages within reasonable walking distance that were affordable. The windows were large and looked out on to a small and bustling street which we liked. We'd return for sure.

Apartement très bien situé au coeur de Funchal. Tous les sites de Funchal à visiter sont facilement accessibles à pied. Des restaurants à proximité et le beau jardin municipal. La rue est très peu passante et la chambre est sur l'arrière de l'appartement . Il n'y a donc aucun bruit la nuit.
Appartement spatieux avec de hauts plafonds, d'intérieur moderne et récent.

Die Unterkunft ist perfekt in Funchal gelegen. Die Umgebung ist belebt aber nicht zu laut oder unangenehm. Der Hafen, Restaurants und Einlaufsmöglichkeiten sind einfach zu erreichen.

Die Anbieter waren proaktiv und haben zwischendurch sogar (mit Ankündigung) sauber gemacht :)

Posizione ottima , casa spaziosissima più di ql che ci aspettavamo , comodo anche il fatto di non avere il pensiero di portare chiavi con sé essendo tutto codificato.
Non mi è piaciuto la totale assenza delle pulizie, siamo stati 8 giorni e non sono mai venute a pulire almeno il bagno , ok che gli asciugamani te li puoi lavare da solo essendoci una lavanderia ma cosa dovevamo fare metterci a comprare i prodotti per pulire casa? E tra l'altro c'erano diversi ragni in casa nel bagno e questa cosa non mi ha fatto dormire tranquillissima.

Nel complesso siamo stati molto felici e soddisfatti, appartamento bello spazioso , posizione centralissima e check-in online comodissimo. Unica preferenza avremmo gradito che durante il soggiorno di 1 settimana venissero a pulire almeno una volta ma ahimè da come ho capito vengono solo quando lasci l'appartamento. Anche la possibilità di lavarti le cose con una lavatrice in comune è comodo.

The apartment is at an amazing location, you can find excellent restaurants just down the street. The place is huge, bigger than I expected based on the photos. Everything is clean and the apartment is well equipped.
There were two things that could have been better. One is that you can hear the movements of the upstairs neighbors. The other thing is that water is flowing to the floor from the shower. After a longer shower a lot of water can accumulate. But at least the bathroom is equipped with absorbent wipe to take care of it.
Overall it was a nice experience.

Sehr gute Lage und das Apartment hat alles was man braucht. Der Blick in die Altstadtgassen ist ebenso sehr schön.
Wenn man zu zweit in der Unterkunft entspannen möchte, gestaltet sich das etwas schwierig da nur ein sehr kleines Kanapee und Stühle vorhanden sind.

The apartment was as described and as in the photos. The location is right in the historic centre of Funchal, and there are a lot of grocery shops, bakerys, restaurants in the vicinity. Despite of the central location, the apartment was quiet and we could sleep in the night undisturbed. The kitchen equipment was sufficient, there was always enough hot water in the shower. Recommended.

Pobyt w pięknej okolicy, zgodny z oczekiwaniami. Do tego piękna drewniana podłoga, kuchnia dobrze wyposażona również np. w podstawowe przyprawy. Pomimo, że miejsce znajduje się w okolicy restauracji, w nocy jest cicho, bo restauracje zamykają się około 22-23. Gospodarz bardzo komunikatywny, dostaliśmy od niego również ostrzeżenie o złej pogodzie i w zw. z tym zamkniętych levadach. Łazienka bardzo ładna, jednak troszkę woda zacieka na fugach prysznica. Jeśli chodzi o parking, to polecam Parque 2000, który jest czynny 24h i jest tani (4,5 euro za dzień). Ogólnie polecam lokalizację i to miejsce. Chętnie bym tam wróciła.

Great location, very clean and good facilities available. The room was very quiet and cool. Just a couple minutes from downtown, a large assortiment of restaurants and stores. Taxis and car rentals are also very close.Just great.
Shower pressure could be better, but it was ok. Aside from that don't have nothing of importance to comment.

Location: very good!
There was plenty of mould in the bathroom. We think the shower drain is rusted through. There is a lack of hooks to hang towels or jackets. A wardrobe would be nice. Shelves are missing. It took time for towels to be replaced or for us to get new toilet paper. No cleaning. No old dirty towels were removed. The price was not justified as no services except one time towel exchange on request.

Pur apartment was situated in the centre of town, surrounded by lots of restaurants we can all recommend. The apartment was clean and comfortable, so we definitely enjoyed being there. A problem we had was solved in no time as contact with the staff from AnIslandApart is highly reliable and quick ....And very polite.
The only fly in the ointment was that the balcony we were expecting was only a French balcony. But so what?
We can highly recommend a stay in this apartment.

It was a very pleasant stay in a really central location.
The house is not perfectly easy to find, as there are restaurants in front, but you get there.

The appartment is nice and cozy, but due to its location you feel a little observed (many people might look into the appartment, when the curtains aren't shut)

The kitchen does not have the best equipment and the appartment might be little cleaner.

Price wise it is not the cheapest you can find, so these latter issues might be improved. Still it is a good bargain.

Dieses Appartement ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. Es liegt sehr zentral in Funchal, sodass Restaurants, Supermärkte, Einkaufsläden, Taxistände, Bushaltestellen, Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Strandpromenade und etc. gut fußläufig zu erreichen sind. Auch wenn die Lage perfekt ist, hört man keinen Lärm von der Straße. Das Apartment verfügt über gut isolierte Fenster und das Gebäude ist generell super instand gehalten.
Das Apartment ist sehr modern, schön und zugleich schlicht eingerichtet und ist super ausgestattet. Man hat alles was man benötigt wie zum Beispiel eine gut ausgestattete Küche, Bügeleisen, Bügelbrett, Wäscheständer, Föhn, zusätzliche Bettwäsche, etc. Das Bett ist auch super bequem. Zudem ist es sehr sauber und wurde auch - mit Ankündigung - gereinigt und wir haben frische Handtücher erhalten.
Der Zugang zu dem Gebäude als auch zu dem Apartment ist sehr einfach geregelt, da der Zugang nur mit Codes gewährleistet wird.
Die Kommunikation läuft reibungslos ab.
Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt und werde auch in Zukunft Freunde und Verwandte dieses Apartment ebenfalls weiterempfehlen.
Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln.

The apartments are ideally located to access most parts of the town. Shares good facilities and easy check-in/out is a positive feature. The least favourable part was the noise level late at night when restaurants close and have to drag tables/ chairs around to secure premises. Apartment 1a had no balcony but was spacious even though overlooked by offices, but bright and airy, nonetheless. I enjoyed my time at this location and would stay there again.

Good location close to mall, restaurants etc.. Everything is in walking distance.
We had a problem with the drain in the bathroom on the first day. We contacted the host and had no response for 2 days. We had to take matters into our own hands because the drain was clogged and we could not take a shower. We had to clean it with the hygiene products we paid for.

Apartamento moderno com ótimas áreas. Localizado mesmo no centro, na zona velha. Estacionamento perto mas pago durante a semana. Não é um problema para quem sai cedo para visitar a cidade.
Ar condicionado não funcionava a 100% e a casa estava sempre muito quente, o que não era muito confortável especialmente para dormir.

Para acceder al WiFi te pedían registrarte en una web y lo tenías que hacer diario porqué se desconectaba. La única pega, por decir algo. En general quedamos súper contentos!

J’ai séjourné 10 nuits pendant le carnaval de Funchal. Je recommande ce 2 pièces pour sa propreté, son emplacement en plein centre ville et la qualité du service. Excellent rapport qualité / prix.

We had a great stay in this airbnb, everything was just as described/shown in the pictures, communication was also always fast. We can therefore strongly recommend a stay in this airbnb if you plan on staying in central Funchal.

Unser Apartment war sehr geräumig und wirklich schön eingerichtet. Wir haben uns dort 4 Nächte lang sehr wohl gefühlt. Ein Rode zum Flughafen wurde uns angeboten und hat ebenfalls tadellos funktioniert. Absolute Empfehlung!
Zwei Kleinigkeiten sind uns aufgefallen: aus irgendeinem Grund gibt es viele Mücken in dem Apartment und das Wifi ist nicht das beste, aber das hat uns im Urlaub auch nicht weiter gestört.

Прекрасный вариант в центре Funchal :) очень комфортное расположение, окна гостиной выходят на улочку с заведениями и снующими людьми, но зато спальня выходит во внутренний двор, поэтому тишина и покой. Отдельное спасибо, за хранение багажа после выселения.

Guillaume and I spent ten days in Madeira. Our trip was just perfect. We couldn’t have hoped for a better place to stay than in João’s apartment. It is extremely well located, in the city center, near the oceanfront; it is spacious and clean; and it has been recently refurbished with taste. We didn’t get to meet our host but he was very reactive. To sum it up, my friend and I felt like home and were very sad to leave. We hope to come back soon.

A great flat right in the centre, on a quiet street, with everything we needed to make our stay perfect. Much bigger than we expected and really clean, we'd definitely recommend this flat to others. Such a great place to base ourselves for a week exploring the island, thank you.

Very spacious apartment. Only comment is that the bathroom floor gets really wet after every shower. Although the room borders a busy street, it is really quiet during the night, because the bedroom is at the back of the apartment. I would definitely come back here if they fix the wet floor after a shower. :-)

The appartement is very nice and central and nevertheless quiet. Only one remark regarding the sofabed, it might be fine for one night but isn't very comfortable for longer stays.

Extremely friendly and diligent administrative staff. Very good location near Shopping Center La Vie, Avenida Beira Mar and restaurants. In front of the shopping center there is also a bus stop for the bus to/from the airport. The apartment was just renovated, everything is brand new and clean, but not everything is already working properly. When some initial flaws are fixed, it may get a good alternative for your holiday in Funchal. What you should perhaps be aware: Washing machine and dryer are shared among all guests in the building; there is air conditioning/heating only in the sleeping room; sleeping room overlooks a shabby courtyard; kitchen and apartment overall are sparsely equipped; when taking a shower, the floor outside the shower stall gets wet, too.
