Dies ist eine historische Wohnung in der Stadt Funchal, die von dem bekannten portugiesischen Architekten Rául Chorão Ramalho entworfen wurde. Die Wohnung liegt im Zentrum, mit Blick auf die madeirensischen Häuser auf das Meer und die Kathedrale von Funchal - die nur fünf Minuten zu Fuß entfernt ist.
Entworfen in den 70er Jahren, wurde die Wohnung komplett renoviert und bietet eine warme, moderne und zeitgenössische Einrichtung.
Tageslicht ist das Schlüsselwort in dieser Wohnung. Sowohl die beiden Schlafzimmer, beide mit Doppelbetten, als auch das Wohnzimmer und die Küche haben große Fenster, die das Sonnenlicht in den ganzen Raum einlassen.
Die Fenster und der Balkon öffnen sich zu verschiedenen Landschaften: Berge, Meer, typische Dächer der Stadt oder die Kathedrale von Funchal. Hier können Sie den Puls der Stadt Funchal in all ihren Formen spüren.
Die für die Renovierung der Wohnung gewählten Materialien sind modern, robust und stilvoll und bieten allen Komfort für einen erholsamen und unvergesslichen Urlaub.

DIE UMGEBUNG ÜBERBLICK
Wir befinden uns direkt im Stadtzentrum, was bedeutet, dass es für alle Seiten interessante Punkte gibt. Die Kathedrale von Funchal liegt gegenüber, am Meer, und die restaurierte Altstadt auf der linken Seite. Wenn man nach rechts geht, endet der Weg am College Largo, wo das historische Gebäude der Stadtverwaltung von Funchal das Museum für sakrale Kunst oder die College-Kirche ist. Aber das sind natürlich nur einige der Bezugspunkte, denn im Herzen der Stadt gibt es an jeder Ecke Kuriositäten.
Im Stadtzentrum gibt es Restaurants für jeden Geschmack, Terrassen, Museen, Gärten und natürlich die Stadtbucht und große Kreuzfahrtschiffe als Kulisse.

Mit dem Auto sind es nur 15 Minuten bis zum Strand.

Um vom/zum Flughafen zu kommen, gibt es eine Aerobus-Haltestelle nur 3 Minuten zu Fuß vom Haus entfernt oder Sie können uns bitten, einen Taxitransfer mit unseren lokalen und vertrauenswürdigen Partnern zu organisieren. Billiger als die Flughafentaxis!

SONSTIGE BEMERKUNGEN
- Nach portugiesischem Recht müssen alle Gäste einen gültigen Ausweis vorlegen. (Reisepass oder Personalausweis).
- Die Check-in-Stunde muss im Voraus festgelegt werden. Wenn der Check-in nicht innerhalb von 48 Stunden im Voraus vereinbart wird, hängt er von der Verfügbarkeit unseres Teams ab.
- Alle notwendigen Handtücher und Bettwäsche werden gestellt. Ein Kinderbett, ein Hochstuhl und eine Babywanne können bei Bedarf zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Wir verfügen über einen Erste-Hilfe-Kasten, Feuerlöscher und eine Brandschutzdecke in allen Häusern.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass für alle Personen, die in der Gemeinde Funchal übernachten, eine Touristengebühr erhoben wird. So werden allen Gästen, die in Ferienanlagen und/oder Unterkünften übernachten und mindestens 13 Jahre alt sind, 2,00 € pro Person/Nacht in Rechnung gestellt, bis zu einer Höchstdauer von 7 Nächten und einem Höchstbetrag von 14,00 € pro Person/Aufenthalt. Bei Ihrer Ankunft erhalten Sie einen Link zur Zahlung dieser Kommunalsteuer.

Wir haben eine Woche in der Unterkunft verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage der Wohnung ist nah am Zentrum von Funchal. Supermarkt und Bäcker sind fußläufig erreichbar. Die Wohnung ist groß und schön eingerichtet. Der Gasteber war sehr nett und die Kommunikation verlief umkompliziert und es wurde immer schnell geantwortet. Ein früherer Check-In war gegen einen kleinen Aufpreis auch möglich.
Kleine Minuspunkte sind, dass die Wohnung ziemlich hellhörig ist, die Fenster etwas undicht wirken und der Balkon kleiner war, als vermutet.
Dennoch würde ich den Aufenthalt im Apartment weiterempfehlen :)

Unterkunft gut gelegen, fussläufig zum Zentrum Funchal. Unterkunft selbst geräumig, Küche iin gutem Zustand, Betten sehr gut. Der Rest bedarf z.T. eines Refreshing (Abstoßsingen), der klitzekleine Balkon ist ein absolutes Ärgernis ( vertrocknete Pflanzen, alles voller Taubendreck,) ekelhaft

We had a very good stay here and liked the room, the cleanliness, the weekly maid service, the location (within 10 minutes walk to downtown and amenities like restaurants, tours, groceries, etc.), and the water and hillside views (2nd story unit). Note that it is an uphill climb for two blocks to get to the unit. The furniture is mostly IKEA, so not that comfortable. The appliances were good, and dishwasher and washing machine soap was provided. We looked down on a medical clinic, an office building, and a secondary school, so it's an active neighborhood during the day (street noise can be loud at times), but is quiet through the night. I give it a Good rating, not Excellent, but it could be if the furniture was better. Would we stay here again? I wouldn't rule it out, but I would also look around first to see what else is available.

*Good communication with the apartment manager if you
need anything or any recommendations.
*Takes only a few minutes to walk to the center of town.
*Safe, quiet. Nice neighbors.
*Market and Bakery next door.
*Very clean and comfortable for the price point.
*Would have liked a ceiling fan or two, but there were
constant breezes once you opened the shutters.
*In spite of the open shutters, I saw very few mosquitoes (I saw two during my entire stay).

El apartamento está bien. Es muy agradable: amplio, luminoso, bien dotado con bonitas vistas y está muy bien situado. Pero está algo viejo (ventanas, puertas, cortinas...). Lo peor es el balcón, impracticable por la suciedad (excrementos y plumas de las palomas que lo habitan) y la ducha: imprescindible entrar con chanclas. Las comunicaciones escritas con An Island no fueron todo lo cordiales que cabía esperar.

We really enjoyed this charming little place just above the downtown area. It was in a great location where there wasn't much noise in the evening, but just a few minute walk from all the hustle and bustle of downtown and the beach. The exterior of the building is a little older looking, but when you go into the apartment, everything is modern and well maintained. I would highly recommend staying at this place to anyone trying to enjoy Funchal.

We stayed for 2 weeks in Funchal and worked remotely some of the days with exploring the city and island the rest of the time. The apartment was perfect for us - very light and spacious with all the amenities required. The workspace was a large table sufficient for my husband and I.

The area is a mixture of residential and other buildings. It’s very quiet with a couple of shops and cafes nearby and easy to walk to the more touristy areas.

Note that the balcony is east-facing so only got the sun in morning but as the living room was south-facing had lots of sun.

Die Lage der Wohnung ist gut, wenige (steile) Schritte von Geschäften, Restaurants und Bars entfernt. Auf Nachfrage bekam ich Nachschub an Spülmaschinentabs.
Leider habe ich am Anreisetag - gegen Mitternacht - trotz mehrerer Nachrichten/Telefonate länger warten müssen auf jemanden, der die Wohnung aufschließt. Dann doch lieber Schlüsselsafe! Nicht verstanden habe ich Großzügigkeit einerseits (Kaffee), aber dass andererseits Toilettenpapier etc. nicht aufgefüllt wurde bei Reinigung.

Fomos muito bem recebidos pelo Sr Décio, que nos fez o check-in amavelmente, muito antes da hora prevista. Deu-nos todas as indicações necessárias, parques de estacionamento, supermercados etc
A casa estava bem limpa e as fotos descrevem-na bem. A sala tem vista fantástica para vários lados do Funchal- montanha, mar, teleférico, etc.
Apartamento equipado q,b. para uma semana de férias em família.
Sugiro que incluam pequena reserva de detergente para se poder usar a máquina da roupa.
Muito gratos por tudo. Foi uma semana muito agradável.
Recomendamos o apartamento.☺️

The apartment is beautiful with an amazing view, the kitchen is very well equipped and the host was responsive and helpful :) Location of the apartment is good as well, near the old town, you can walk there.

Very nice room, great light, balcony, etc. It was nice to wake up to a sea view and the sun streaming in. The design is a bit odd in places - like the shower is set weirdly high in the wall, which made it hard to use.
Very good kitchen facilities.
The neighbourhood is far enough out of town to be quiet but you can easily walk to everywhere you want to go in town.
If driving I'd suggest getting a weekly pass to the parque 5 de Outubro os probably your best bet.
If using a wheelchair, you might find the flat challenging: it's up a steep hill and there's a lift but it's very, very small.

The apartment is in a great location - very walkable to shops, bars/restaurants and public transport.

It's really spacious and the views from the window are lovely.

Beatriz was really responsive from the time of booking and we were able to check in early.

The apartment location and layout is wonderful. We found the windows very noisy when winds were blowing (even when closed) at night. Made sleeping difficult. Our stay was abbreviated so we decided not to stock the kitchen so it was very nice to be near restaurants.

Our stay was amazing! The house is exactly how is showed in the photos, very bright and new. Besides that, it has everything we needed and It was very clean and organized.
The location is very good, close to the center (10min walk).

We stayed for over a month and really enjoyed our time here. Highlights included the view of the hills and ocean, the short walk to markets, and lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. It was a perfect location for viewing the New Years Eve fireworks as well. The Wi-Fi was very speedy, with download speeds over 300 Mbps. Just be aware that Funchal is very hilly, and you will definitely be walking uphill every time you return to the apartment. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Wohnung war nicht wirklich sauber. Wir missten sogar Mittel zum säubern aller Abläufe in den Bädern kaufen und es hat trotzdem noch immer schrecklich gerochen.
Zudem war es am Morgen enorm Lauft von der Strasse und der angrenzenden Liegenschaft.
Der Kontakt zu AIA war angenehm und gut.

Supermarkt, Bushaltestellen und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in Funchal zu Fuß in 10-15 Minuten erreichbar; gute Ausstattung in allen Bereichen (Betten, Küche, Dusche, WLAN) auch Aufzug im Haus vorhanden; wöchentliche Zwischenreinigung/ Handtuchwechsel ohne Aufpreis; Gastgeber von "AnIslandApart" über WhatsApp/SMS jederzeit ansprechbar.
Unangenehmer Geruch aus dem Abfluss im Bad; teilweise mangelnde Sauberkeit/ Reinigung, insbesondere Fußboden; Blick aufs Meer wegen Aufbauten (Photovoltaik, Klimaanlagen, etc.) auf dem Nachbargebäude stark eingeschränkt; sehr kleiner Balkon mit Sitzmöglichkeit für max. 1 Person; stellenweise rissiger Beton-Fußboden; Ameisen in der Küche.

It is close to everything and at the same time it is quiet. Welcome pack with coffee, oil, vinegar and basic spices was provided. Washing machine, dishwasher and necessarry kitchen utensils, even toaster and coffee machine were available.
The apartment itself and furniture are worn out, there is a mould and smell of fungus in the bathroom. The lighting and ventilation is poor, however, during strong wind you could feel it in the apartment as windows were the old wood ones. It is said that change of sheets and cleaning is provided once a week, and sheets were changed. However, it happened that I was in flat when cleaners came, and only very superficial cleaning was done in kitchen area and in the front of rooms, they didn’t even vacuum carpets nor whiped surfaces. Kitchen towels were changed from 2 to 1, paper towel wasn’t replaced, and towel paper was provided less as in the beginning. Though I had to mention that toilet paper was provided after my request with a comment that guests should buy it by themselves when initial provision run out.

We stayed at Elias Garcia II apartments for almost two weeks. The property is clean, well-maintained and placed conveniently a few minutes walk from downtown Funchal. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances (well-functioning), and there is a good Internet connection. Also, the staff was helpful and responsive, and we experienced no difficulties during our stay or with the check-in (we required assistance due to a change in our flight itinerary), check-out or transfer from and to the airport.
To conclude, it was a reasonably priced stay for a family of four!

The apartment was really clean and nicely decorated. The host was also really nice to us and we could always contact her for any question.

The positives: Good value for money, dishwasher, floor cleaning and towel replacement after 1 week (we stayed for 2W) and good location close to the city center. Negatives: Joao that welcomed us in the flat did not really tell us information about the flat and it was obvious he's not familiar with it. Car parking is in a different building in -4 level. Being on the second floor, on some nights (strangely not all), there was a lot of noise from different sources on the street: football stadium and glass recycling plants next door, motorcycles speeding up the hill and strange high-pitched sound from one of the buildings. Unfortunately, even though we've alerted the company 3 times, they didn't clean the shower sewage that didn't drain properly from the first day of the accommodation. It was very uncomfortable standing in dirty water every time and having to wait an hour till the next person took a shower. We have no faith that the company would be able to solve bigger problems which is why we would never use any of their flats again. Also the drawers and covers on the sofa were quite dirty - they probably never washed it.

We had a fabulous stay at this realy bright, clean apartment, with everything we needed for a great week. It is in a great location - just a short 5 min walk intu centre. Perfect for our needs.

L'appartement est idéalement situé pour se déplacer dans Funchal à pied. Les photos correspondent parfaitement à la réalité. L'appartement est spacieux. Marta qui nous accueillis était disponible et agréable. Suite à un problème d'avion pour repartir à cause du vent nous avons été contraints de passer 3 jours supplémentaires sur Madère et avons pu relouer l'appartement. Un grand merci à Marta et surtout Carolina, pour sa disponibilité, qui ont pu nous remettre à disposition l'appartement malgré l'heure tardive. Le seul petit bémol sur l'appartement est qu'il est un peu bruyant à cause des bruits de la ville.

The place is clean and in a great location. The apartment is very near the city centre, but far enough to get some nica and cheap breakfast.

Everyone help us a lot giving us some great tips about the island. They were even kind enough to let us checkin very earlier and gave us the chance to checkout later.

Our stay in this apartment was absolutely perfect! Location was excellent, apartment was exactly as pictured in the listing, and Andre and Carolina were perfect hosts, providing us with anything we needed to make our stay perfect! She helped carry my daughter in when we arrived and returned with fans for the rooms within minutes of us asking! When asked for a later checkout than anticipated, she was quick to respond with a 'yes, not a problem' :) We definitely recommend this property to anyone planning to visit Funchal!

The communication with Andre and his colleague Rodrigo was perfect. They were very helpful and showed a positive attitude in their answers.
The apartment was very spacious, modern and fresh, with a breathtaking view. It is well situated in a quiet area, in the same time walking distance to the center. Just downstairs we found cafes and a small shop where the locals were very kind and the food was fresh and tasty.
When our flight got cancelled we got helped on the spot and provided with another available accommodation, the same high standard. On both situation we were provided with bed and highchair for our toddler.
We enjoyed our stay in Funchal and definitely we will comeback to Andre's properties. THANK YOU!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this apartment. It has lovely views in two directions, one in the direction of the sea, where you can view whichcruise ships are in the harbour and the other uphill to the west of the mountain on which Funchal is situated.

The combined living room and kitchen is spacious and is furnished with colourful Ikea furniture. The bathroom has a shower which provides instant hot water. The two bedrooms benefit of waking up to from the early morning sun. The kitchen is well equipped with kitchen implements, a dishwaher and washing machine. The secure parking was opposite the apartment building. It was a challenge to successfully maneuvour into the reserved parking space.

The location of the apartment is perfect for access to Central Funchal (a 10 minute walk) and there are very good bakeries and cafes in the immediate area.

Apartamento superou as expectativas! Bem decorado, bem equipado, super limpo! Check-in efectuado à hora combinada. Excelente localização, vista desafogada sobre Funchal, rodeado de pequeno comércio, lugar de estacionamento, internet.

Espaço altamente recomendado para uns dias muito agradáveis pela Madeira.

Liked everything!!! Very spacious and comfortable apartments with a beautiful view from the window. very clean. The apartments have all the necessities of life. not far from the seafront promenade, restaurants, supermarkets (5-7 minutes walk). The house has a cafeteria with fresh bread and pastries. wi fi worked well. Thank you Carolina for its attention and concern to us. Great pleasure to once again return.

We had a fabulous stay at this bright, modern apartment. It is in a great location with the old town within very easy walking distance. Andre was very easy to communicate with and was kind enough to give us a slightly later check out time to help with our evening flight back to the uk. We loved Funchal and certainly intend to return to this lovely flat.

We had a great time here with our 20 month old son in November 2016. The apartment is just as described, very well presented, clean and with everything we needed for a great week's break. It's in a very central location and the car parking space is really useful in busy Funchal. Andre kept us well informed throughout and Marta met us when we arrived and was very helpful, including providing equipment for our son. Would definitely recommend.
